View Full Version : 300pt. brotherhood team for review
i know i posted this once but nobody would answer.
ok my team is as follows.
R-hydra op
R-hydra op
R-quicksliver
R-scarlet witch
R-juggernaut
E-pyro (would use V if had one)
E-hydra med
E-mandroid armor
U-spiral
ok my strategy is to put the two opps next to pyro so his attack is 10 and i use mandroid to fling spiral and jugg then put him nex to pyro to use the shield power if you notice 5 out of nine of my clix move for free so i try to get in there face fast but i can only fling 1 person every outher turn and even then they usally cant get all the way to them!
do anything you want to the team, the strategy or event both
thank you

I'd say that your team looks pretty well rounded and thought out, I just suggest putting in someone like Magneto so that its more adaptable. There's been too many times where I've walked into a game with a set strategy and gotten my butt kicked cause I couldn't adapt to the person I was playing.
what would you suggest taking out for magnus? i have a R and V

I agree with the above post your v or r magneto would make this team rock. I would try dropping out some of the hydra and the mandroid, you may wanna drop the med to a rookie. I am not sure however the tota point number of the figs.

well the rookie mag is 80 and the vet is hundred and three, the easiest thing to do would be to swap out jugs and a hydra op, but i don't think you'd wanna do that.
howabout losing the e pyro 38 e mandriod 32 and the two hydra ops? and use the rookie mags
but then i wont have much range
i think i am going to get rid of juggy and mandroid and put in r magnus and E logan

personally i don't mind sacrificing range for firepower that's just me. See i like your juggy as a brawler and that berserker bit will come in handy if you run up against the mind control. However the decision is ultimately yours.
I've been playing around with using the Unique Juggernaut because Magneto can carry him if he wants, too.
U-Juggernaut
V-Magneto
V-Pyro
E-Avalanche
R-Quicksilver
However, if you drop Juggernaut to R then you can probably put in some Hydra support.
V-Magneto
E-Pyro
R-Juggernaut
R-Scarlet Witch
R-Quicksilver
2x R-Hydra Operatives
No medic, though. If you make Magneto R then you have some points for a medic. However, V-Magneto is quite a bit more dangerous than R. With two Hydra operatives standing next to him, he gets a 12 attack at range, so combined with PC he's gonna do someone 4 clicks. Juggernaut and Quicksilver will keep them busy up close so Magneto and Pyro can do their ranged thing.
thank you for the ideas all.

To be honest, I'd get rid of Spiral and put in Sabretooth. I'd also try really hard to work in Magneto, and in doing so you can get rid of Pyro as Magneto can be your ranges attacker. Don't use Unique Juggs, he isn't very good in comparison to Exp, and it doesn't really matter if Magneto can't carry him, because he can TK him (and Sabretooth around).
Magneto + Juggs + Sabretooth eats up a ton of points though, so you might be better going with Magneto + only one of them, and filling out with more utility brotherhood units (Avalanche, Scarlet Witch, Toad, Quicksilver).
I really enjoy using Quicksilver as a "blocker", someone who sits between my big guys and my opponents forcing them to stop as they try to pass by him (great indoors), and then allowing Sabretooth to charge past him and attack. I've used toad in much the same way as well.
Playing a pyro, Avalanche combo is also extremely potent in an indoor map should you have that option.

Drop all the NON-BROTHERHOOD figures that are on your BROTHERHOOD team..and put in V-magneto
*shrug*
its not a brotherhood team unless it has ONLY brotherhood members...

Invis-slayer:
I have to passionately disagree.
By your argument, Beast could not be used on an Avengers team. MoonDragon could not be used for either Avengers or Defenders. V. QuickSilver could not be manipulated by his Father (Magneto) into aiding his cause. In fact, Magneto would have no lackey (Genosha) mutants. There could be no lackey (Morlock) mutants. There could be no friends helping friends, reserve team members, family association or any other very reasonable appearances on a themed team. Guest appearances occur often in comic books. They often are very often by characters VERY MUCH associated with team. Sometimes it’s just a random guest appearance which may not be considered a theme team. But, if a character is reasonably associated, I do not understand why people argue that the team does not have a theme.
Furthermore, the lack of many characters or generics sometimes requires substitution. Until they make Morlocks or Genosha mutants, I will be using Hydra figures to represent them. I am sensitive to maintaining some Comic book feel to the game. I like things to have a general theme. And, I generally agree with not using duplicates or mixing Hero/villains. But, there should also be some flexibility. Some creativity adds more enjoyment to the game. Not everyone owns every piece and even if they did, it is still very limited.
Say you want to have two high powered characters on your team named Cyclops and his little brother Havok. Why is it considered WRONG to use Vet Cyclops and an Experienced Cyclops to represent the brothers?.
Wizkids makes "non-affiliated" figures that have been "affiliated" with various teams/characters. To suggest that V. QuickSilver would never guest appear on his Father Magneto’s Brotherhood team is flawed. Magneto and many other villains have often manipulated “good” guys into serving their purposes. Many non-affiliated figures have at some point been affiliated with some group or characters. They have often made guest appearances and some times take active status on a team.
Furthermore, Magneto often recruits mutants into his ranks. Whirlwind is evil and he is a mutant. To say that Whirlwind could never be recruited into a otherwise all evil mutant team is rather closed minded. (no-offense but I just can’t think of any other way to say it).
