Wow what a day! Wizkids if your listening you have a LOT of dedication to this game! 32 signed up and 30 showed up to play, and a week before Christmas. That is amazing.

Brian Rupp (Necromagus) won first place with Ares alone. Incredible! To place your bets on one figure sure takes some stone but he surly pulled it off with his 4-0 score.

In the forth round there were 4 3-0 players. Those players were:

Sam D. vs. Brian R.
Mike A. vs. Josh B.

Everything came down to the points, but in the end Josh B. (oosh2001) took the Silver home and won the gift slip of 50$!

BIG BIG thanks to Norm for helping with the event. You are the man!
Steph (Sam's Wife) and Alex were also amazing volenteers for us.

Oh, and thanks to Ryan (rolenrock) for coming out all that way to the event! It was a blast and hope to see you again.

Thank you all for coming out and hope you all got home safely.

Coming Up:

Jan 15th- Clixathon 2011
Jan 29th- Epic Events IV 1/2 (Details TBA!)

31! You forget KC who showed up late. (KC is probably also going to come to Clixathon)

Mad respect for Ares. What a beast. (I wonder how much influence he'll have at Clixathon)

Sam's Girlfriend and Alex were also amazing volenteers for us.

"Sam's Girlfriend" ==> Steph.

Great help from everyone - I'm so impressed with the quality of help from the volunteers, the support from the store, etc.

Oh, and thanks to Ryan (rolenrock) for coming out all that way to the event! It was a blast and hope to see you again.

You will be seeing him next month - Ryan's heading for, you guessed it, CLIXATHON!

Woohoo! Clixathon!!!!

BTW, kudos to Greg for making the pain of "finding a place for dinner" stop. That place across the street was PERFECT. Great service, nice portions, right across the street. If it helps the Epic Events at all, you can assure them that we will be dinnering there after every Epic Event.

In the meantime, folks, if you haven't heard, CLIXATHON IS COMING. One month to go. Later today I should have pictures of many of the Finals prize pool posted. I say "many" because the best is still to come.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it up for the game. My rehearsal went longer than expected and had too much to get done, which is why I didn't sign up in the first place.
I have similar issues the weekend of CLIXATHON which will be Jan 15, 2010 - it is unfortunately the weekend before my big youth event (over 5,000 paid registrations so far!)
I'll be announcing the next MARYLAND MEGA GAME sometime before the big CLIXATHON - which I believe is Jan 15, 2010 and run by Nbperp.
I'll try to leave a little space between big events and get the dates out early.

CLIXATHON!

Great event! Great fun and met some good people. Congrats to Quinn for a big success and thanks to Norm for judging.

Also congratulations to Brian for his win. One figure team! And he beat some really good players.

Looking forward to CLIXATHON!

WOW! This was an awesome event, thx to the Collector's Corner staff for hosting this! I had a blast

Ares was actually my 2nd option, of my two boosters I felt Ares gave me a better chance to win than Mongul, Green Arrow and the Crimson Avenger did. His trait neuters a lot of your opps first strike capability and his 'Everyone Fights' SA really makes short work of support pieces. Even with one piece I never felt like I couldn't be competitive and ares only got past click 4 in one game. The last game I played I got hit once and took 1 click of Mystics damage.

Again, thanks all, I had a blast!

We can make it tradition! And any place Norm approves of is the place to go! :p

That was a really fun event, never had a team go 3 & 0 before, still a little bummed that I blew it in the finals. The whole points thing tweaked my nerve, I was hurrying and playing over aggressive which cost me the game.

Oh well, there's always next time....

Quinn & Norm thanks for a great event, thanks to all my opponents who were very cool and a pleasure to play, and to all the great folks that came out and made the event fun.

It was an awesome time, all around. Even losing horribly as I did for most of the day -- though there is zero shame in losing to either Tony or Cecilia! -- DC 75th is a blast to play in sealed. As a relatively inexperienced player, I always have fun at these Epic Events and Mega Games, 'cause I really do get schooled, and learn a lot from my betters. ;)

Just knew the day wasn't really going to go my way when my friend Gil and I took off our jackets and we saw that while I was wearing a Shazam t-shirt, he was wearing a Mr. Mind shirt. And yup, we played each other in the final round. My only victory (sorry Gil!)

For all of us former Super Villains players, the best part was seeing Sam have a 3 game winning streak and make it into the finals. He's come a long way from being the only player I could beat on a consistent basis (and when we went back to his place for a couple casual games, I still beat him!). He's officially banned Ares from being played at his house. :p

Many thanks to Quinn for always working his little ginger head off to organize these events, and to Norm for coming up and judging and helping to make sure things ran smoothly. And many thanks as well to Stef and Alex for volunteering wherever was needed, and to Randy giving us the space to play, putting up the prizes and providing the pizza! :)

Everyone have a Happy Christmas, and I'll see you all at Epic 4.5 in January for another 'round of getting my butt kicked.

Would if I could, Norm, but I simply don't have the disposable income necessary to pay $50 to walk in the door and lose a game, and then $30 for each subsequent qualifier that I'll lose. I'm not a good enough player that I have a shot of making it even worthwhile to try. The Supernova sealed would be fun to play in -- I don't want those chases at all, I just like the set in general. But I really can't blow $50-$100, plus gas from Northern Maryland.

I'm glad you're all gonna go and have fun, though! Good luck to everyone!

As the person coming in 3rd overall, I want to say it was a complete blast. If it wasn't for my first game I would have probably been in the finals :( Oh well, As my last tournament for a year while I'm deployed it was fun and the highest ranking in a tournament I think. Look forward to coming back and tweaking my game to get to the finals.
