While I had heard that it was the "Ultimate" GG, I have no idea what that means. I haven't read a Spiderman book in ages, I never read any of the Ultimate Spiderman title and I'm honestly only familiar with the regular flavored GG. Can anyone fill me in on what this Ultimate GG was in the comics? I have to say that I am both disappointed that it isn't the original GG and glad that I have already converted my own GG from a Hobgoblin...

Yeah, I heard. How do you feel about that? I have to admit that I'm disappointed because the REAL Green Goblin still hasn't been made. I was looking forward to a worthwhile Spidey archenemy to sort of correct Hobgoblin.

I guess that it's "cool," but as a comic nerd I will not be pitting the only character from the Ultimate Universe against all the figures that we already have, which are all from the original universe.

It's kind of neat, but out of synch with the rest of the line.

Ultimate GG looks like the Hulk or Abomination as opposed to the original GG. He's much more of a bruiser instead of a pumpkin-bomber. Bah!

The 10 second difference between the Ultimate GG and the normal GG is the Ultimate GG actually turns into a goblin-esque monster. It's no suit, it's his actual body.

The Ultimate line IMHO is absolutely amazing. I hate to rehash, but it's more 'realistic'. the Avengers are called the Ultimates and it's the best book out today. If ever was a time to revisit your locla shop, this is it. Go to your local Barnes and Nobles and I bet they have the Ultimate Graphic Novels. GREAT READS ;-)

I've given Spidey and the Ultimates vol 1 as gifts to now rabid fans!

Well, I have the issues so far of "The Ultimates" (my father actually loaned them to me!) but I have never bothered with Spidey. My question is, how the heck is that GG flying? No glider? No tasty pumpkins of death? No cheesy green chainmail-ish costume? Feh.

Actualyl have to wonder if the Spiderman we're getting is Ultimate Spiderman...since they are archenemies and would explain why Spidey seems so much smaller than normal...

Concerning Ultimate Comics...
I am a big Ultimate fan. It helps us 80-90's born generation get re-acquianted with the characters. It's really neat that everyone has their own stories and it isn't just "I have the powers of a ____ because I did ____ + atomic radation." I love the old comics and I'm a really avid reader of non-ultimate books. But when you look at everyone's origins, it's atomic this, gamma that, nuclear something, cosmic yada-yada. It's really cool that they put new, yet still similar, origins to everyone. As far as the Ultimate books go, you'll either love them or hate them.

Concerning Green Goblin...
Classic - One of the best villians ever. Yeah, he was like 12 people or so, but it didn't matter. Once someone donned the mask, it was on. What more can I say?

Movie - It was... okay. I didn't like it, but I didn't like the "organic" web-shooters. It had to be that way for today's society and for less story-telling-time and more action-time. It was a really neat perspective. I liked that it was a flight-suit, but I didn't get the creapy demonic helmet part. Oh well...

Ultimate - Okay, but ultimately retarded. If I inject myself with Oz Spider-venom, I look like a man with spider powers. If I inject myself with Oz man-serum, I look like a multi-colored monster? The only thing green about him is his head. He should be the "Mardi-Gras Monster" who was created when a drunk party-goer fell in a vat of chemicals. I admit his story-line is really great and I love his character. But it is not, I repeat NOT, the Green Goblin.

Clix - I wanted the Classic so bad. I was waiting on customizing my Hobby into Gobby, because I ate some good pineapple. Now, I'm going to have to customize a figure for that base. It's really nice that they did an Ultimate figure, but it shouldn't have been GG. At least not for another set or two. P.S. - Ultimate GG does not fly. I don't remember him ever, every flying. Lots of leap/climb, but not fly.

As far as the Ultimates comic goes, I respectfully disagree on it being good. I am a huge Avengers fan and looked forward to the book. They are up to about eight issues and have yet to even really field a team against a villain yet. I know I may be old fashioned but I like to see heroes fight villains, not just sit around and talk or argue with each other. I know they are doing a cross over with Ultimate X-Men and maybe that will spice things up. For now I will stick to the regular Avengers which is actually pretty good these days.

I think that there is only one reason that this one is flying over L/Cing. Wizkids realized that there would be a LOT of people modding this one to the classic, probably close to the # of people that will keep it as-is. Flight is passable on this figure, L/C on the original is not, and the rest of the dial works on the original as well. Thanks Wizkids.

I admit I read Ultimate Spidey. But like the rest of the Ultimates line. It's a KIDS book. Drawn for kids, more violence, for kids, updated, for kids, no mainstream continuity, for kids. The only problem is it reads like it was written BY kids.

I'm glad it's a unique. We'll get the proper GG inthe Spider-Man set (Wishful Thinking)

But until then I suppose I'll use the dumbed-down, over-stylised sensationalist kiddy version.

i was lookin forward to the original GG also, but atleast we have one. il still play him and hope to get him, but i think it would be best tho to see the original one seeing how he is such a classic charecter. i didnt think it would take at least a 4th set to see him iether. maybe next time (i hope).

Why would Wizkids still not make an original GG??!! This is the 3rd Marvel set, and still no GG. Does anybody have a theory/ suggestion as to why not? The only reason I could think of would be that maybe they are saving him for a later expansion. Maybe a "classic" line, with everybody in their original costumes and power scenarios? Eh, who knows?

I think the reason they haven't made the original Gobby yet is because somewhere in the movie contract with Sony, it says that they decide when and who makes a Green Goblin figure. So they found a way around it by making the "ultimate" Green Goblin, since they technically don't have the rights to him. That's my theory, anyway.

Forgive me if Im wrong, but I remember Ultimate GG being all green skinned when he transformed. So whats with that yellow/flesh coloring on his chest and arms? Or is that a shirt or something? I dunno. The sculpt at least looks decent, even though i aint wild about the ultimate version. But hey, at least his stats are reflecting the ultimate one, and not just a copy of hobgoblins.

well, hogoblin's stats blow !(compared to being Spiderman's Arch Enemy !)

But then again the Hobgoblin could NEVER lay a hand on the REAL Green Goblin !

HCRules--- Ultimate Gobby went to a full green after some time passed. At first, Osborne was mixed, as shown in this particular figure.

On the up side, that figure might make a decent base for an Etrigan conversion. Granted, I always liked the Matt Wagner Etrigan from the mini series more than the Kirby or 90s buff one.

Just for the record ultimate spidey and goblin rock. the original ultimate GG sucked. the new one (or evolved ) is closer to the original. and he does throw pumpkins, more like orange fireballs.
