Hi.

Just curious, I have tonnes of extra figures both heroclix and horror clix.

I'd like to try my hand at creating some custom dials for them.

What are the tools - besides outrageously expensive adobe illustrator that some you you more experienced modders use?

thanks in advance for any and all suggestions

One of our fellow realmsers maintains this site. I believe it is "urlmaker".

what size do i resize the dial image to get a proper fit for dial into the base of a standard click?

when i print the raw dial image its pretty big, i experimented with resizing a bit but still haven't got the right size.

thanks

Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/) is a free alternative to Illustrator that opens most files on this site.

normal based dial tops should be 1.275 inch circles, 2X2 based dials should be 2.784 inch circles

find lots of handy information about it here, even if you don't plan on going the whole course with it:

I find printing the stat dials is best done at 1.125" or less (1-1/8").

If you don't have a round punch the right size (apparently available at craft stores) and use scissors like me, I resize them to just over 1".

The other poster is right, the outside of the dials (top forex) is just about 1.25" (1-1/4").
