View Full Version : Brotherhood xplodes
Anyone else think that Xplosion is gong to seriously revitalize the BOEM as a playable team. Before this I always had to have someone who was not brotherhood (or someone fairly expensive who was, like Mags) in order to get anything done with them. Now, with Mystique's perplex (hello 4 damage blob, hello 17 def blob) and destiny's prob control (no, PYro, a little to the left, good) this team is going to be very balanced. While they lack heavy-hitters, which is fitting with the Mystique team, I think they will now be able to deal with most any threat, even without Juggernaut.
And with Sauron, although he isn't technically Brotherhood, we get a flier that we can legitimately explain as a BOEM member.
thoughts?
I think the brotherhood will get a decent boost. Mystique and Destiny are 2 great support figures. I think both will see regular play in "fun" games, as well as tourney type teams.
Oh, before everyone tells you, you can't perplex up your defense(at least when you would need it, on your opponents turn--perplex only on your turn, and then it ends.)
Maybe these will help Mag's, cause he was underpowered.
Brotherhood really shines in lower point games, because their team ability.
The brotherhood was always a good team for 400 pts and less games. Where some of the "power house" teams like the Avengers need a lot of points to get more then one of their power houses onto a team. The Brotherhood could always fit most, if not all, of their team into a smaller pt team. A combo attack of Jugg's, Sabretooth and Toad is very hard to withstand.
Mystique, Destiny and Sauron (who should be a Brotherhood member, if Quasar is on the Avengers, Sauron should be on the Brotherhood) just add to an aready good team. You get a good taxi who can also mind control in Sauron, PC in Destiny and perplex and a decent range support figure in Msytique.

I've always had fun with brotherhood teams. Little weak at range but barrier can do wonders.
I was disappointed Sauron wasn't brotherhood, but I guess its not really a bad thing. Sure free move taxis are nice, but Sauron isn't going to be your typical taxi. Would much rather use him to charge while carrying someone than just airlifting them around the board. So I probably wouldn't get alot of use out of the free move. Plus no team ability makes him a little cheaper.
Besides he may not have the team ability but Sauron is a very brotherhood-like piece. Charge, toughness, primarily close combat. He'll fit right in with my brotherhood teams.
The perplex and extra probability control can't hurt and should do wonders for the Brotherhood's ranged game.

Perhaps a little surprised that they didn't put Sauron on the Brotherhood as well, but that's fine.. I know he had a long career elsewhere. It's not going to stop me from fielding him with them.(Should have plenty of actions.);)
And yes, with the addition of the new three, it will be great fun..
But I'm more excited about being able to actually finish the Founding Members of Freedom Force with the release of Destiny and Mystique.
