Surley its blocking, since its called elevated blocking terrain. If you mean in the situation where a flyer lands on top of it, I would say it isnt hindering, just that the flyer is immune from Close Combat being that he is raised above the rooftop. Thats how I would play it, but hopefully a Judge can give you a definate answer. :)

ow.....
my head hurts already........
Okay let me give the short answer because the official big answer is still being clarified...
Elevated blocking terrain is considered to be Clear.
No Objects can be placed on Elevated Blocking terrain.
These two should at least answer the question...
If you have contacts in the moronisphere (the area of the planet where "official big answers" are generated.) How about passing on this related question:
In the most recent itteration of our beloved FAQ, they have said that non-flier/non-leap climbers are not allowed on elevated blocking terrain. This would seem to imply that a flyer could carry say spiderman and drop him off on top of an elevated hindering terrain, however he couldn't carry Boomerang to the same location. This makes roughly no logical sence to me.
Would you clear up that this was what they intended? Or was it just another case of piss poor wording?
You want me to go back there.... to moronisphere? It's an arduous journey... but okay...
Actually... You are understanding it correctly...
That is what was intended. Basically, if the figure cannot make it there on his own, then he cannot be put up there.
I know it makes no sense, but I'm trying to figure out all the rules for this special type of terrain and compile them into something that makes sense.
From what I understand a Phasing figure would not be able to get up there either.
Once I get it clear, I'll pass it along...
Thanks Mr. T.....and sorry about "Texas".
My best friend lives down there, and I've journied to Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio a few times the last couple years. Gadds what a gaudaweful state. I feel your pain Tsannik. Well keep your chin up, things could be worse, you could live in Houston.

Not to hijack this thread, but I really like your new sig line, Tsannik...
"Well, good thing that was included in the most recent fricking FAQ! I'm really not wanting to be the catalyst, but I want to be the new Rules Arbitrator. How could I do that? Get all of HCRealms to petition? Oh, and this ruling is only for this stuff"
Just so it's known, there were a total of 11 things changed and/or added to the February FAQs update between the 2 sets. And none of it was really new; more like clarifications.
(Ok, I guess maybe I am trying to hijack this thread, but that's only because I hate discussions on EBT. They give me headaches.)

Ok but happens if you lose your leap/klimb?
From what I understand... when your figure loses Leap/Climb he is stuck and cannot get down without someone (I.E. one of your other flying figures) carrying him down.
and sorry about "Texas".
Oh texas isn't bad... Dallas isn't bad...
My location means that I'm having fun in the Judges forum on the WK site..., but I live in Dallas... supposed to be a joke...haha
<<Ok but happens if you lose your leap/klimb?>>
Spelling aside, this is a hillarious question.
Now the half baked rule needs to come up with a half baked addendum to cover this situation...
My bad Tsannik, I thought you were Texas bashing, and I was gonna help.
That figure would be stranded until they are picked up (if the EBT is big enough to allow a flyer to land on it, get knocked off it (being discussed right now but it looks like the character will be able to be knocked off it) or ( by scenario) the fig is healed and regains the power.
Let's leave out the "moronisphere" type comments! Whether or not you agree with rulings, you must still treat the WK's people with civility.

Explain this one to me...
A figure with Leap/Climb can get up on EBT... but a figure with Leap/Climb that's adjacent to EBT cannot make a close combat attack on someone who's ON EBT???
(Hear that sound? That was my brain popping)
So lemmie understand "The powers that be's thinking:"
1> Non-flier/non-leap/climbers are not allowed onto Blocking Terrain, for the arbitrary reason, that they don't want them to get stuck there.
2> Phasers who could on their own get up or down from there are not allowed on Blocking terrain, because at the time of the FAQ update, whoever wrote it didn't have his little thinking cap on and think of them.
3> If a Leap/Climber is on blocking terrain, and he gets hit (or healed) and loses his Leap/climb then he is in fact stuck up there, which Wizkids was trying to avoid (unsuccessfully), and haven't come up with a solution to this other than "Too bad". (Which insedentally should have been their solution in the first place, they meddled where they didn't need to. A player should have known going in, that their figure could potentially get trapped in that location....no one twisted the players arm to put their figure up there.
4> Voluntarily Jumping off an elevated location: Not allowed. Of course in the superhero world, no right thinking superhero would have the nad-power to attempt such a heroic leap, risking personal injury to get back into the fray.

Hang on a minute.
A character with Phasing and Flying could move on to EBT.
Couldn't they?
And while I don't want to make to blow up peoples brains, surely leaping from a high position onto an unsuspecting target below has ALWAYS featured in the comics and yet we can't do it!
You all are killing me..... :p
A figure with Leap/Climb can get up on EBT... but a figure with Leap/Climb that's adjacent to EBT cannot make a close combat attack on someone who's ON EBT???
That is correct. This is because EBT is on the same Elevation as Elevated terrain. Leap/Climbers can only make close combat attacks when the elevation differs.
Non-flier/non-leap/climbers are not allowed onto Blocking Terrain, for the arbitrary reason, that they don't want them to get stuck there. I believe that was the reasoning.
Phasers who could on their own get up or down from there are not allowed on Blocking terrain, because at the time of the FAQ update, whoever wrote it didn't have his little thinking cap on and think of them. That's the way I'm taking it.
A player should have known going in, that their figure could potentially get trapped in that location....no one twisted the players arm to put their figure up there. yeah... true
4> Voluntarily Jumping off an elevated location: Not allowed. Of course in the superhero world, no right thinking superhero would have the nad-power to attempt such a heroic leap, risking personal injury to get back into the fray. Good thing Daredevil didn't jump off a roof or anything in the movie....
A character with Phasing and Flying could move on to EBT.
Couldn't they?
Well... If they have both Phasing and Flight... then yes, because they have Flight..
If they just have Phasing.... from what I understand... No, they cannot. But I'm trying to get this clarified.
Aauuugghhh!!!! No EBT! It hurts! It hurts!
One question just to muddy things even further -
Okay, now we're allowed to break EBT like walls, right? So if someone is on EBT when we break it are they down on rooftop level now? Do they take falling damage? Can we give Tsannik a headache worse than a cluster migraine?
The problem Lonehawk is that:
A non-flier with Phasing can enter Elevated terrain, however, the same non-flier with Phasing can't enter Elevated Blocking Terrain.
Nextly, Xanth, my "Moronisphere" comment was in fact funny. If Wizkids can't laugh at that, then they need to spend a wee bit of time looking at themselves. A long time ago I wrote their rules department and offered to help them rewrite the rules in a clear and precise way that would have cleared up most of the ambiguities in their original printed text. (my regular job involves working with creating precise documentation.) I was told by them that they liked their rules the simple way they were. Now, 20 pages of FAQ later we're looking at silly situations like the above. Let me point out, that I'm farily certain that I'm in the top percentile of "paying customers" so far as amount of money spent on this game goes. I've bought enough figures to have a full set for myself, as well as a full set which I gave to a friend of mine. From a pocketbook perspective, they couldn't ask for a much better customer than myself. And I'll continue to support them finantially so long as they continue to put out Marvel Figures. And as much as I love the game, I'm not going to close a bind eye to the fact that they've done a poor job of balancing figures. (They even refuse to acknowledge that they made a mistake with Firelord), and seem unwilling to do anything about that. They've also designed some farily useless powers, and overcosted some moderately useless powers, and undercosted some overly powerful powers. They've also created powers that don't work in the least bit, like what they were intended to portray. And now they've gone the extra mile to create new problems, by attempting to fix problems poorly in their FAQ. Yes I poke fun of them in my posts. So what? They could do a better job. They could hire me to help them. They have my money and support....I'm not making fun of them to hurt their feelings....I'm making fun of them for my own personal, amusment and the amusement of the readers. If they're offended...then maybe they could fix their problems. Or they could take some of the money I've given them and buy a tissue to wipe the tear from their cheek.
I love the figures. And I want a BALANCED and FUN game.

This is currently being debated....
I believe the most prevalent ruling is that when 1 wall is destroyed... then all the walls are destroyed....
Like I said... still being ruled on... I'm sure that they are taking the fact of the Blocking terrain on that one Marvel Pond map. It's 4 squares big.
There is no definitive answer on this yet... as far as I know.
comment was in fact funny. If Wizkids can't laugh at thatWell, I thought it was funny... so maybe .001% of Wk laughed.
A non-flier with Phasing can enter Elevated terrain, however, the same non-flier with Phasing can't enter Elevated Blocking Terrain.
That is a problem that I hope was just overlooked. I'm looking in to this now.

It may have been funny but applying terms like moron to people is disrespectful and not condoned on this site.
Look, I didn't use harsh language directed at anyone in particular. Nor did I even call someone a "moron". You read that into what I wrote. Still where I come from if someone does something "Dumb", we don't call that "an apple". We call that "something dumb". We are currently debating in this thread a ruling which is....okay...I won't call it "Dumb", I'll be politically correct: It's arbitrary, ineffective in it's intent, unrealistic and lacked forthought in it's result, it also caused several other "gray area" situations in it's wake. Is that more Politically correct that my original comment? Personally, I think that was much more brutal than the "moronisphere thing". I asked a question hoping they would fix the problem. I did not demean anyone in particular. If they don't want to be made fun of, they could make rulings that don't invite such comments.
