As a Mod it's always a struggle to try and protect the people who trade here from scammers, but sometimes it feels like trying to save people from themselves.
I've lost track of how many times there's been a sale or buy list that had no prices (against forum rules) but people PM them offers anyway.
I'm also regularly mind boggled by how many times someone with a too-low rating offers some too-good-to-be-true deal, and before we close the thread they've gotten offers.
It's not just noobs that send these PM's either.
We hear a lot about when people feel we're not doing a good enough job protecting traders, but geez guys, help us to help you.
If someone is breaking the trading forum rules DON'T TRY TO MAKE A DEAL WITH THEM. Even if it's a piddling technical violation.

I agree with everything d_knight7 has to say about trading. Don't be too hasty to make that trade if it seems too good to be true. This (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=252451)is a must-see thread for folks who are new to trading on the Realms.

Listen to the knight my newbie friends or sometimes not so newbie friends. Always use your common sense when you trade. If it sounds like it is too good to be true then it most likely is.

I don't think he's talking about not so new people getting ripped - he's calling out the high level itraders on here that enable scammers by still doing deals with rules breakers when their threads are obviously against the rules and are closed - thus giving them higher itrader, which enables them to rip off new people because they make them send first.
Basically, stop being greedy and start following the rules. It's on the people that trade regularly on this site to take some initiative and stop enabling scammers - it's not all on the new people to somehow be expected to know a scammer when they see one.

Not exclusively high level traders, it's a warning to all, but there are people who really should know better but see $$ and leap on it.
