View Full Version : Who do you think will make the best Oversized Figure?

I wanna see Goku. A normal figure engulfed in an oversized flame of energy.
His 300pt vet version will represent his Super Saiyan Ascended mode.
His 200pt exp version will be the Super Saiyan mode.
And his 100pt rookie version will be his notmal mode.
I'm not even going to bother getting into the stats cause he's just crazy, but I'd would still love to fight my team against him.

For those in the old school of Marvel, consider The Stranger
This INCREDIBLY Powerful alien being was likened to Galactus (and, for this forum, Galactus is just too obvious).
He was a one-man-kill Avengers sort of villain. But then, such a fig might make Thanos seem a little weak.
Omnipitus the devourer of planets, friend of The Tick and recipient of a half eaten cheese basket.

I think a cool oversized fig would be Fin Fang Foom of Iron Man fame. Can't think of anything cooler than that. And definetely no DBZ clix.

Either Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot or Apache Chief.
If it isn't one of those 2. I will quit playing this game

Big Fin Fang Foom is an awesome idea!!

Though he may be a bit TOO powerful for heroclix.
violator for the indy clix line would be sweet

i think i big giant man would rock like a hurricane.
Mephisto is as big or small as he wants to be. He often appears man-sized, but in his own realm he is often very large. I personally don't want a giant figure of a demon.

heres a few ideas: surtur from the thor comics (when he died he took odin with him)
malebolgia
and big guy with a normal size clix of rusty
The Destroyer armor is occasionally drawn larger (though not as large as a sentinal) than most normal characters, and has various power levels, depending on who is possessing him. This would rate different point totals. The most powerful had Odin, with the lifeforces of all the Asgardians but Thor, which tried to fight the Celestials, but lost.
Umm how about a great big ol midgard serpent? ( probably to specific to one comic to make it though)

I think that Maul from the WildC.A.T.S would make a good big fig. Besides they havent made a good-guy big fig yet.
It should be Brood or Galactus, but Galactus may be too big since i think i remember him being the size of planets and stuff...so we'll have to see what they want to do. I think Sentinel was a really good idea and i own a Sentinel myself so...
Dark Phoenix would be the most logical in my opinion.
The one I personally would like to see is Atlas from the Thunderbolts.

Dark Phoenix?
That storyline is 20 years old!
If you want to go back in time, let's go all the way, to the Old School. Hank Pym, Giant-Man.
Aw, yeaaah.
...Or if WK wants to stay away from Pym (and I don't blame them) then how about Clint Barton as Goliath II?
We need some Biggie-sized heroes! And fries! Heroes and fries!

Old School is what keeps this game alive. you whipper-snappers don't know bunk about this marketing thing. It's all the old comic fans who now have disposable income that make it great. So there.
I think Galactus would be ideal here since he would be only a little bigger than a Sentinel. And if they keep withthe same theme as Sinestro (loved the idea of him inside a construct) then Dark Phoenix would be AWESOME.
I like most of the ideas so far, except for the DBZ giant figs. If you want to add a whole set worth of cheese to this game, then add the DBZ stuff to clix. They are all god-like individuals, and therefore smell as far as this game is concerned.
Galactus eats planets, but is only about 25 feet tall, perfect for a big fig. He actually gets smaller when he is really hungry.

Next Titan fig for Marvel should be:
Goliath of the Thunderbolts (make him an MoE team member)
For DC, I like:
Imperiex. That way I can get a bunch of them and replay the "Our Worlds at War" scenario. :)
I think Giant Man would probably be the lamest possible "big fig", since he's really be weaker than most regular sized figures (Hulk, WW, Doc Sampson, etc.), and would cost much more ($$).
I think my first choice would be Onslaught, simply because he'd be cool (double MC maybe) ;), and he's highly recognizable (more from the MvC game franchise than from the comics).
Second choice would be Imperiex, as he would make a cool DC Big Fig, maybe with some sort of "drone tokens" and rules.
Third choice would be Dark Phoenix, just to see her done in figure form.
Forth would be Starro, 'cos who doesn't want to kick Starro's ### every now and then?
Fifth would be Spectre, who could make a cool big fig.

I heard the next big fig for marvel was going to be mole man (riding a big creature) but this was for the second set of clobbering time and they are already on 3rd set xplosion:cheeky: I would love to see giant man for the avengers aspect!! or a devil dinosaur!!! ha,ha,ha seriously I think a big fire guy from the legends mini series from dc would be cool I am totally blanking on the name right now-but a starro would be great since he will be in the upcoming jla avengers!!!

Lets see, possible ideas for big clix.
DC
Chemo
Haunted Tank
Validious
Imperix
the kryptonion robot used in return of superman and y2k
Kyle in the anime-style armor he's worn sometimes
Marvel
Giant Man
Goliath
Living Pharoh
Fin Fang Foom
Onslaught
Galactus
Stilt-Man? hehe
And if you insist on anime ideas,
Gundams
Evas/Angels
Gigantor
Godzilla
Mecha-Tama-Chan.
Okay, that last one is just my own personal dream but hey...

fin fang foom makes the most sense for wizkids... since they already got a lot of prior experience with dragons in mage knight.
although onslaught or galactus make a lot of sense too, because those will be instant sellers- huge amount of points or not.
they could do kree sentries. they were just a little smaller than sentinels, but they are more powerful. a coulpe of them made quite a match for the avengers.
others would be:
terminus
dark phoniex
galactus
surtur
fin fang foom
goliath
giant man
collector
atlas
and huge robotic spider slayers
Xavier PhD
08/18/2003, 04:16
oh yeah! kree sentries!
i can see wizkids making kree sentries... because you can buy more than one and still have a themed game with them.
i'd like to see lockjaw from the inhumans.

Giant Man for Marvel
Green Lantern for DC

I would like to see Validus if they ever do a Legion of Super Heroes based set for DC.
For Marvel, I could almost see them using one of the Sub-Mariner's Behemoths. I think I'm thinking of the one from around FF#149...
How big is Dragon Man supposed to be anyway?
The Mad Thinker and his Awesome Android?
MODOK?
The Super Adaptoid using Giant Man's powers as well...
Amalgamax the Composite Super-Man (now I'm reaching...)
...this is how my brain works past 4 in the morning...

How about a Celestial or the shield hellicarrier?

i think and hope thell just do giant man as a regular fig. I've seen some of the new mage knights and there huge. as much as i like giant man i dont think hes 300 points good.
I agree with sk8erboi. A shield hellecarrier would be awesome. I would be like a big fig with GL team ability except it doesn't have to put its passengers down. There could even be a little David Hasslehoff in the captains chair.
The Charlatan
08/18/2003, 14:51
Marvel- Fin Fang Foom or Mole Monster (with the Mole Man riding on his shoulder). Giant-Man/Goliath/Atlas are not powerful enough to warrent 200 point version, let alone 300 point versions. Galactus is too powerful for 100/200/300 point scale, maybe a special 1000 point version would work.
DC- Chemo or Starro. Like Galactus, Imperiax is a little too powerful, though they could also make a special 1000 point version.
Goku as a Big Fig? Actually, that might work; though I don't see him capturing people, but then I'm not sure it's Sinestro's style either.
zacharoo
08/19/2003, 08:59
Speaking of Hellicarrier, the Blackbird would be cool to play with. I'm all out for a Galactus big-fig. And I'm pretty sure Wizkids is not stupid to realize how many people want this figure. Wizkids, make Galactus now!!
bill4935

There's also the possibility that the Sentinel and the other guy  didn't sell too well, so they aren't going to make any more big figs...

In defense of Japan:
There is plenty of good anime to draw from to make Heroclix figures, however, none of the good anime makes it into main stream America. All most people ever get to see is Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragonball, and a host of other ####-fest shows for little kids. You'll never see Kyuuketsuki Miyu, Ranma 1/2, Ah Megami Sama, or Urusei Yatsura ever make it onto TV here.
Now, that being said, my suggestion...and I'm not saying that this isn't a ####py anime, but it's definitely old school:
Voltron, Defender of the Universe.

A big +1 to that! A lot of dads are bringing their sons into the game if what I saw at the local game store is any indication. I second Dark Phoenix--adds a female to the two male figures already out (OK, the Sentinel is a robot, but in male form.)
Surfer is coming out as a unique in Cosmic Matrix or whatever that expansion is being called, so if they bring out the Big G, he's on his own. In a way, doing somebody like Galactus makes sense: he's someone even villianous figs would oppose. The problem with the Stranger or the Watcher is they were more or less benevolent or neutral characters, and anyway, Galactus is cooler looking.
Corwin
Let me add this digression: during that event I mentioned above, reference was made by one of the "older" players to a song by Slayer called "Runaway" telling one of the "kids" he was too young to remember--and I couldn't help thinking, does this guy know that Slayer's version was an 80's cover of a 50's song?
"Whippersnappers" indeed!!!

The next big fig will be Indy related, you can count on that.
Now if you ask me who?
Well I couldn't tell you since I am not a regular reader of Indy comix.
What about the Absorbing Man? Especially the version from Universe X. He was deffinitely a bad mother. And it would give something for the Avengers besides Kang to take on.
As for DC I am not as familiar with it but how about one of the larger versions of Braniac? Something a little better than the first one. I know, I know......I said I wasn't as familiar.
The Werle

I sincerely hope they never make any Cosmic Beings like Galactus into Heroclix pieces, because they're just going to be demolished if they underpower them and make them like the current big figs, and if they were to make them right they'd have to be indestructible.
Holding with the current method of making a big fig I would vote for Fin Fang Foom for Marvel and Starro for DC.
However, what I would most like to see would be a Hank Pym Big Figure set, with a new set of rules and way of playing it. Check out my idea and discussion about it and let me know what you think.
http://hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46687&highlight=hank+pym+big+fig
Bring on Galactus, make him 1000/1500/2000 and a big dial, and those who don't like it because he is too weak don't have to buy him. Thor, Thanos, Magneto, Hulk, Juggernaut, Superman and others are underpowered, but we are glad they are in the game. Everyone of those had to be powered down to be playable. Galactus has already been shown in a fight where heroes beat him. It is possible, and a high point figure as shown above would be a good representation. Remember, there is no way that Black Panther or Nightwing could get past Juggernaut's forcefield in the comics, but they can in HC. Bring on Big G.

O.k., as i am only interesed in Marvel, i will not include DC or Indy:
My most wanted big figs:
Gian Man or Goliath
Hank Pym with Rover (Rover on a stick like MWDA Helicopters and Pym hanging down a stepladder)
Big Figs that would sell the most:
Galactus
Giant Man
Dark Phoenix
Big Figs most likely:
if any then maybe
Mephisto as AE of Surfer
Galactus
Mole Man

What about selling a Galactus Map? Either a 2 or 3-D map that the figs can play on that has some really interesting rules and objectives, like every round every figure gets an action token, unless pushed. stuff like that? I haven't thought much about this, but it seems to me. That something like this would take into account Galactus' size and obscene power. He is so powerful that he just doesn't interact with the characters, they are nothing to him (unless you are holding the ultimate nullifier...). The map wouldn't allow for your standard head to head but maybe a race to hurt the big guy or something. Just a really crazy thought first thing in the a.m.
Why does everyone insist that Dark Phoenix be a big figure? She is Jean Grey's normal height and build...She doesn't have a body like Galactus warranting a big figure.

I'm not an avid comic fan, but here is my suggestion(s):
1. Big Figs should not be limited to the 100/200/300 point scheme. It works fine with Sentinels and decently with Sinestro. However, recent expansions have shown a general increase in the point value of figs - we now have several small figs around 200 points. Larger games are starting to become the norm. That means that a large figure - like a 1000/750/500 point fig is not out of the realm of possibilities.
2. I think figures with lots of different powers are fun to play with. Dr. Strange is a prime example. His varied dial made him a very fun figure to use. Newer figs like Amazo are also very popular.
3. My Proposal: A Big Fig with many varied powers. My suggestion? Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet. He could have a dial full of powers - and great values - for a massive point cost. Some special rules may need to be added to big figs (like not taking a click for mind controlling figs over 100 points, etc) to really make it work. I could see a Thanos towering above 1000 points of Avengers or X-Men and holding his own, even with only 1 action per turn, if his numbers were high enough. Break away from whatever rigid point/power formula and playtest, playtest, playtest to achieve balance.
That's just my 2 cents.
Rosie O'Donnell
Oops, sorry wrong over-sized figure....
I want the Anti-Monitor, Imperiex (who could whup Galactus), Trigon or Titano
Big fig for each universe?
In Marvel, I think Master Mold would be cool. With an ability to create 2-3 clix sentinels that heros have to deal with. Mage Knight has spawns, so they can do a figure that creates other figures.
DC I can't really think of anybody, though Starro using the same spawning rules might work.
Indyclix...if they can actually land the Tick license, the Dinosaur Neil idea isn't bad at all. He should sell just for being Dinosaur Neil :) Or if they finally land Spawn's license...Violator!

Terminus, that is an excellent idea! They need to make all the right figs so we can duplicate the ongoing JLA/Avengers series.
I also like the idea of a giant monster for Mole Man to control. On that same wavelength, how about a Dr. Demonicus with some giant monsters for him to control? Originally, he controlled Godzilla, who was, in fact, part of the Marvel Universe for awhile. But Marvel no longer has the Godzilla license, and I doubt Wizkids is planning to acquire it, so it would have to be a generic "giant radioactive lizard with maple leaf symbols on his back."

I think it would be a waste to have a big fig that repeats a character we already have, or might be able to have in smaller form. Dark Phoenix, Mephisto, Mole Man, and MODOK could all be done as normal-sized clix. There are so many great characters that cannot be represented with small clix. Any big ones we get should represent those characters.
I am also solidly on the side of avoiding characters that are TOO cosmically powerful. I want no Galactus, Stranger, Spectre, or Celestials.
If we get more big figs, which is starting to seem unlikely, I'm mostly interested in seeing a variety of representation.
Marvel:
Fin Fang Foom
Ultimo ( I can't believe more people are not clamoring for this)
Giant-Man/Goliath/Black Goliath - one of these guys, at least. (My idea - a Hank Pym set, which includes one Giant-Man big fig, and two smaller figs, Ant-Man and Yellowjacket, both sculpted figs we can see!)
Terminus
DC:
Atom-Smasher
Vi (formerly Shrinking Violet - a big fig w/LSH team ability!)
Titano
Brimstone
Starro
Chemo (This big fig could be dually marketed as a game piece AND a drink container. Unscrew the head and fill him up with whatever nasty chemicals you can get at your local convenience store soda fountain)
