The Joss Whedon Mafia: It's About Power

Rules... stolen from JOH, and modified just a bit...

1) There is a Town. They win by getting rid of the mafia/non-friendly neutrals. Each night, many of them do something (investigate or protect for instance) to try to find the mafia. During the day, they try to vote off the mafia.

2) There is a Mafia, maybe even more than one. They win by getting rid of everybody that isn't in their mafia. Each night, they will remove townies from the game. Each day, they will try to prevent the townies from voting them off.

3) If more than half the players vote for the same player during the day (i.e. Majority), that player is lynched and is removed from the game. You should bold your lynch votes so that I don't miss them or think you are kidding. You can vote for anyone but chances are nothing will happen if you try to lynch someone who isn't playing. You can also vote for a No Lynch, but some mods will remove a random player from the game to ensure that the game doesn't stagnate if no player is voted off. If you feel like leaving a vote with someone, you can say Leave Vote with: Player, but I frown upon it. You cannot "leave with majority".

4) There are unfriendly neutrals that could be trying to kill everybody or recruit their own mafia or maybe something else entirely. They win in odd ways but they hurt the town so the town must eliminate them to win.

5) There are friendly neutrals. They also have strange win conditions but they don't really hurt the town. Sometimes they can win with either the town or the mafia but in general the town doesn't need to get rid of them. Friendly and unfriendly neutrals are hard to tell apart and you'll just have to use your best judgment on whether you want to vote for them or leave them be.

6) Don't do these 3 things: Quote your role pm or the role pm of anybody else, talk about this game outside of this thread even via pm unless you are pming a mason teammate or a mafia teammate, and don't edit your posts. If you do one of these 3 things, you may be modkilled to ensure the game's fairness. I'm a stickler for these. You see how it says 'may'? Assume may = will.

Have fun, y'all. Remember, it's just a game. Tempers may flare, and people may come off like complete a-holes... but they are trying to win, just like you.

Darq Addendum: Just so there's no question of quoting your PM, if for some reason you are roleblocked, jailkept, target jailkept person, someone untargetable, or something similar, you will be informed that "Your action failed".

Darq Addendum II: The Town's win condition is "You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated." The Mafia's win condition is "All threats to the Mafia are eliminated" Neutrals? Who knows.

Darq Addendum III: The Mafia are bad. The Town are good. Neutrals? Who knows.

He woke up with a start, alone, unaware of his surroundings. His body ached all over, and he felt drained, in more ways than one. He'd been in similar situations before, but this time... This time felt different. This time felt like the end.

He had been given a warning... Something was coming. A convergence of universes, of time, of dimensions, all crashing into one another, and nothing could stop it.

From the darkness stepped a familiar face, and for a split second he scoffed. But only a second. He collapsed, defeated. "The-the thing is... I had a speech. I learned it all. Oh, god, she won't understand, she won't understand."

"Of course she won't understand, Sparky. I'm beyond her understanding. She's a girl! With sugar and spice and everything... useless unless you're baking. I'm more than that. More than flesh -"

I am a huge Joss nut (thou not the biggest I am sure). I have watched everything he has put out except for the Buffy movie (still building up the courage to do that).

Just in case anyone is unfamiliar, his major tv works are Buffy/Angel, Firefly/Serenity, and Dollhouse. He also did Dr. Horrible during the writer's strike.

I have only ever read the Dr. Horrible 1 shot, Serenity: Those Left Behind, and the first volumes of Buffy Season 8 and the Angel comic (whatever it was called) that takes place after the show.

He also wrote Uncanny X-Men and Runaways. I know next to nothing about these, as I only read DC and the occasional Indy book.

The man in the strange outfit sat in front of his computer, and ranting about the latest indignities brought against him by his nemesis. Just as he was about to break into an aria of immense pain, there was a knock at his front door. Grumbling, he turned off his webcam. As he opened his door, he was greeted by a smiling face, and his visitor barged in without permission.

"Excu - excuse me, this is my home!"

"Wow, this place is a pig sty. You really need a woman's touch to bring some order to this place. Sometimes a domestic goddess has nothing but a challenge. But first..."

In a flash, the intruder flipped open a blade and spun quickly, plunging the knife into the villain's belly. The shock in his face was indescribable. With his dying breath, he uttered, "I'll always love you, Pe-"

With glee, the attacker continued to slash, and left his victim a lifeless husk.

She was very into things and looks. She had a huge mansion where one of the final battles took place. She was also very into clothes.

So um, don't be surprised if I'm not around this phase. My computer blue screen of deathed on monday. Took it into the shop yesterday where they seemed to fix it, only for it not to be fixed when I took it home. Took it back today, and now they have it until Monday. Also, my cat seems to be passing kidney stones, resulting in her either A) Howling B) Racing around the house C) Peeing on the floor. This makes it very hard to be anywhere in the house, since again, I can't vanish into the basement to be on my computer.

Oh yeah, and we find out tomorrow if we lose the house to foreclosure or not. Needless to say this is turning out to be one of the hardest weeks of my life, and I can't really concentrate on this.

When I heard scooby, I thought Sarah Michelle Gellar starring in Scooby Doo, and being one of her gang. Her sister's name was Dawn I believe.

River is a good guess on the Vig, but we've got 4 kills. Janitored kill most likely the SK. St. Dumas we think is a mafia hit. That leaves to scummers from the same crew dead. One is probably the Vig. I see the other as a second mafia, maybe a dollhouse mafia. The big reason is that none of the kills smell like a PGO to me.
