Hi,

Well I just have a quick question and I was hoping for some fellow realms members opinions and help. Okay well I made a trade with someone the end of last week and I'm due to send soon. And my gut is telling me no like I'm going to get scammed but if I break it off ill get a neg. He's not communicating to well and I guess the communication helps the trade a lot! And I don't have that right now and my guts saying no the only time we talked was while discussing the trade. What do I do? Has anyone ever had this problem? If so how did you resolve it? I mean I can be wrong and he can be the most loyal trader!

Thanks

Check his Itrader rating. If he doesn't have any negatives and has been a member for a while then you are probably fine. If he is a pretty recent member and/or has negative feedback then you may have cause for concern. I wouldn't necessarily hold someone being new against them, but it does make it more likely that it is an account just made to get a few scams done.

Well what do you need to hear from them beyond an agreement to trade, and the exchange of addresses?

I'd suspect a great many trades are just a brief back & forth & then the next time you hear from them is when they send you a DC# & feedback.
At least that's how the majority of mine go.

With only a 3 rating yourself? You've really only got two options;
Restrict yourself to trading with those of 0/1/2 ratings, or take a leap of faith....
Check their rating.
Avoid trading with anyone with neutrals/negatives.
Do not simul-send.
Read the stickies about sending to known problem areas/people.

Thanks, I appreciate the help and I will take the advice guess all I can do is just take the chance and if its a scam I learned my lesson. But then after that ill only be sending to someone with much higher feedback or is an older member.

Thanks again for the help

You can PM me what you know of the member and I can help you.

Use a go between. How much is involved in the trade. If it's a big amount use a moderator or go between. You both send to the person and he sends the stuff out. I'd pay the moderator with a few extra clix, too.
