I love heroclix but I hate having to look on the chart for every super power. Do you guys memorize them? I havent yet, I've only been playing for a week. Also, anyone else not like how the maps are so big? It can be annoying if one of your pieces is on one side and your on the other and you cants see his or your oppenent's clix stats.

You'll become accustomed to the powers after playing more. It's always a good idea to know what your figs' dials are just so you know what to expect if you're going to push or take damage.

I've been playing for a good while now. So I have just about EVERYTHING memorized. It will come to you naturally after a while.

I've often said that the key to knowledge isn't memorization but reference.

You'll get the rules down fair enough over time, but even the most experienced (as experienced as you can be in a game less than a year old...) still pull out the Rules, PAC or FAQ occasionally. Everyone does it, don't sweat it.

The map size is just fine with me, even if it is bigger than my kitchen table. The grid is large enough to give you room to move, small enough to be manageable.

If you can't see your opponent's figure, just ask him what it says.

After you've been playing for a while, it'll all be second nature. You'll always want the PAC handy, just in case you forget what purple movement means or whatever, but you'll pick most of it up in no time.

I always keep a pair of binoculars handy to survey the field of battle.;)
You can always walk over to other side for a closer look, or ask your opponent to read off a specific pieces current stats/powers to you, too.

By the way, welcome to the greatest comic book superhero miniature click based game ever created by Wizkids!

I have seen some one make a book, with all the stats.
I think that is too big to have on a table,so i have this idea.

Get some regular index cards, with the lines.
count the clicks the character has and make colums for it.
When making the colums, make shure they are big enuff tp put a marker(stone) on top.
Now lable the colum with all the points and color code them.
Do you get the idea?............

Now all you have to do is keep track of how many clicks your guy has and mark them.

lewdew - that's unfortunately not legal, at least not at a tournament. You aren't allowed to have a "cheat sheet", even if it's just for your own characters. For friendly play, that's fine, if you think it'll make your life easier.

Oh yeah? Try memorizing all of the Champions rules and formulas. :D

I too wish the maps were a bit smaller, if only for standard space issues. 3' x 3' is too big for a card table, or even for most standard folding tables. It makes it difficult to have enough space when running a tournament (or at least it has been for me). But the map size is good for the games themselves. A much smaller map and the ranges and movement values would have to be adjusted a fair amount.

See I play on Warhammer tables. 6X6, maps fit perfectly on them. hehe

Playing as much as you can will help in the learning of rules, how much figs are worth, and each figs powers.
I try to read through the rules and the updates occasionally so I make sure I don't forget anything.

I was thinking about making que cards a while back then I realized it is kind of cheesy to know what is coming up. Unless EVERYONE had them. But after a while you do get a feel for the dials. Even on figs you don't use all the time, you know generally what is coming. Even on the XPlosion figs I play, I have found that I know the figs and the powers well enough to kind of anticipate what is next. It isn't always where I can say someone has 2 clicks left, but I know when Vet Cap gets to outwit and tough, the end is near.
