She was talking about the person she interviewed but wouldn't say her name though everyone knew who she was talking about and I was thinking in my head you better not say anything bad about Stephanie, she's really cool. She's usually the first person to laugh when I make a funny and agrees with me when I say something smart :cool: but she said she was surprised how down to earth she was and that she did it to pay for college as they give 11 tuition waivers every year for it and there is usually only like 14 females competing in it...

If your looking for actual economics instead of junk science (okay, Freakonomics isn't completely junk, it's fun to play with, but it takes extreme liberties with causation), look into books by Landsburg. I have Price Theory on my desk, it was the basis for when I was studying economics for a test.

As of right now Micro, but the only experience I have is Landsburg, Levit, and AP Prep Books, so I'm open to everything. However, I don't think I'm someone who would be interested "Stock Market Modeling" or similarly macro topics.

If you're looking for something a bit more "hard" economics, I'd recommend Amartya Sen - start with Poverty and Famine (a groundbreaking work in the study of famines and food shortages),or just skip to Development as Freedom (a sort of summary of his work). If you're interested in the political policy side of economics, I'd recommend anything by Fareed Zakaria. Guy's young and brilliant.

Zakaria is brilliant. Just listening to him talk, he knows more about politics than most of Washington. Unfortunately I disagree with him on many topics, but I'll definitely look into his works. I remember hearing about his books in the New York Times book review.

Well, I took the personality test. That had career recommendations. Then I took aptitude tests for those careers, and engineering was my strong suit.

But you're right, tests can only do so much.

Scott makes cameos in later seasons, but most of his story is doen at the end of season 2. Those first two seasons are the best, but the series as a whole is ok. Admittedly, having Scott in it was the main draw. I've now netflixed a lot of his other stuff.

As for batman, I was hoping to see Harley Quinn show up in the next one. She's got strong tied to the Joker, though, so it seems she'll never hit the big screen. Stupid drug overdose ruining my comic movies.

When I said if they go that route, I wasn't talking about Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. That I knew. What I don't know is if Nolan will put her in a Catwoman costume. It's definitely a possibility and is almost practical for a thief, but he may not actually make her Catwoman in this movie. They only say Selina Kyle, while we know that's Catwoman, it could be similar to the Spider-Man movies with Dr. Curt Connors. We know who he becomes (Lizard), but he never did in the movie. It could easily be a set up for a Catwoman spin-off (one that hopefully will not take a dump on all the Catwoman mythos)

Interestingly, I bought a 75th booster today, got it blessed by the seller, and boom, Bane and Larfleeze, two of my biggest wants from the set.

And if you're wondering about the blessing, last week I bought another single booster of 75th, the seller jokingly blessed it, and I received the SR Green Lantern and Ganthet in the booster. A friend of mine then did the same with a booster of WoS, and got the Iron Man/War Machine Duo, and Nightcrawler.

So yeah, we're getting all of them blessed from now on.

I have found that often times the batteries are the culprit. If it's one of those with an internal watch battery try that. Mine needed to be replaced after only a year of use. Also, if that doesn't do it, try and google the make and model number to see if there's a board somewhere that someone documented the problem. This is what I did for my car remote and it helped a lot. It might be something dumb that you can fix on your own. If that fails, try looking on eBay for a cheap one that someone forgot to give to the new homeowner when they sold their house. You'd be surprised how cheap they are. I also did that for a car remote that we lost. Cost me $20 instead of the $125 from the dealer.

The other thing could be that if the battery lost connection for some reason, the remote may have lost the programming. Might just need to be reprogrammed.

Thanks! I think that the motor is just fine because if you open and close the door by pressing the button on the wall, the opener works just fine. I am pretty sure that the issue is with the remote and/or the external unit that hooks up to the opener.

Yes, the remote lights up when you press the button. But as Stan remarked, the programming of the remote might be boogered up. Or the external unit that connects to the opener might be boogered up. Gotta get up there and poke around a little more. Though I should probably just replace the remote and the external unit, seeing as how they are from a long time ago.
