I tried REALLY hard to make this game follow with the story line and embrace what was happening. I recommend viewing the story line here is the wiki link

Basically the "town" is out to stop Akhenaten as he possesses the Heart of the Universe- the most powerful energy in all of the marvel universe.

voting works the same, same as day and night phases. There are twists and turns =) hopefully you all have fun with this.

The X-mansion

Jean Grey is in the kitchen with Cyclops. she suddenly is over come and falls over. "Jean!" Scott shouts as he rushes to her aid. "Are you ok? " he askes.

Yes thanks Scott" she replies. He helps her up to here feet.

"Akhenaten..." she mumbles.

"What?" - Scott asked

"I don't know he was a pharaoh.. and can't stop thinking of him"

**Jean Come to cerebra Immediately and come alone!**

Jean Grey joins Professor X.

"Are you sure you don't want hank in here i don't feel comfortable being the only one controlling cerebra while you are hooked in" Says Jean Grey

"What we are attempting to do Jean may very well be our end and Hank is a mind to wonderful to needlessly destroy" replies Professor X.

The two hook up and try to make contact with Akhenaten

"DIE!"

The X-mansion is then engulfed in flames.

Venomdabomb has been killed he was Professor X the worlds most powerful telepath.

Soon after all the worlds leaders are transported on to spaceship. as they bicker between themselves as who is responsible for there kidnapping. A Large Being appears.

"I am Akhenaten! I am here to regain my throne and resort Egypt as ruler of earth, you all may join me and the rewards will be great or oppose me and face certain death. you have 24 hours to decided."

They are all teleported back to their homes.

The End starts now.

I thought that perhaps it was some kind of character buff or protective ability. You said yourself that we don't know who is who yet, and I was only postulating that perhaps she either had a way of knowing or she was just randomly using her power on two characters HOPING that she was protecting towns people. Did that make sense, or am I still confusing you?

I know if I had that power (and had it doubled), I'd take a shot in the dark on a couple people. If nothing else, it can give you insight later if someone claims to have done something on the night you blocked them.

No, she presumably has no way of knowing and has to take guesses. The power you get dictates what sort of people you try to target though: a roleblocker should typically go for people who seem to be EEEEEEVIL in hopes of stopping them.
But yeah, Townies get in each other's way all the time.

Don't get discouraged, it will probably take a few games for you to get the hang of it. Mafia is a game where an informed minority (the mafia) tries to kill off the uninformed majority (the town). That means that the mafia know who they are, and by simple process of elimination of whom is NOT in the mafia, know who the rest of the players (the town and the few neutrals) are.

Every day (which is when the thread is open like right now), the players all discuss what info if any they have, who they suspect may be in the mafia, and try to basically figure out who the mafia are. They can vote to lynch someone. The goal is to kill a mafia or an unfriendly neutral (like the Serial Killer - called the SK for short). Of course the mafia all the while is trying to pretend like they are town, lying in the thread about their intentions, and trying to get another town member lynched instead of having a mafia killed.

Every night (which is when the thread closes) all players get to take an action based on their power in their role. The Mafia also kills someone, in addition to doing other things. The goal of the mafia is to eliminate all threats to their faction: the mafia. The goal of the town is to eliminate all threats to their faction: the town. Neutrals have different win conditions, although most can usually win with either the mafia or the town - called neutral survivors. The SK in particular, can only win if they kill everyone else.

Every player has a character and usually a power as well. Some common powers include:
Roleblocker or RB for short, which blocks someone preventing the from taking whatever action they wanted.
Misdirector or MD, which randomizes their target's target.
Cop, who can investigate someone at might to determine if they're mafia or town.

And don't get scared by the wall of text. :) The basic game is quite simple, though there are many little nuances you'll pick up as you go along.

It really depends on how you look at it. He does good and evil things in the story. The good is that he helps to take out Akhenaten and save the universe. The evil is that he stole the power for himself and killed the Defenders in the process. Then of course he kinda killed the whole universe in a fit of rage, so that's another evil thing. But in the end he sacrifices himself to bring it all back, so that ties it up at good. All in all I'd say Neutral, but I could see him being on either side of the fence as well.

I play in that game for what seemed like two month as Oracle, the Leader of the BoP, and the Vig, which I manage to keep hidden until a day or two before the game ends on like Day 35. And I survive to nearly the very end and fool the mafia into thinking there's a second mafia, and help kill off all the mafia, and MB comes in with 2 days left as a replacement player and kills me on the last night, because Charles doesn't use a power on me to save me after I ask him to before the game closes...

Hey I am kidding man... ;) The truth is that it's only a game. And the fact that MB did that, shows he's plays it the way it has to be played. TO WIN, TILL THE END. Anything else would be a sham, and that would just be a hollow victory and no fun for anybody.

I used to get pissed and would hold grudges, but the more I play, the more I realize that's just dumb and gets in the way of smart game play. It's hard to fight the petty instinct of wanting revenge, but good players know that's the way it has to be for the games to have merit and be fair.

What is the boon to the town MB. Tell us? If the mafia cannot stop you, and cannot kill you, what harm is there in telling us what the blow to the mafia is and what the boon to the town is?
