What program do you guys use on the computer to make these maps?

Master Adobe's Illustrator for your layout/fonts/vector art and Photoshop for any fancy texture/photo work you wanna do. Nothing else needed.

Personally, I use Quark for the map layout, importing in Illustrator or Photoshop art as needed, as it makes smaller, more efficient files. But, Quark's an expensive, unnecessary program if that's all you're gonna use it for.
