Hybridity: The Invasion

Welcome,

This is a game of amalgamation, combining characters from both the Marvel and DC universes.
I wanted to steer away from the already created series, which is why I'm using the term hybrid instead.
But both mean the same thing in this context.
No characters will be repeated in this game.

I assume you all know the standard rules of online mafia. If you don’t, send me a PM.

The following are special rules and clarifications that will apply to this game:

1) Priority:
Priority refers to which actions occur before others.
As a rule of thumb, blocks have the highest priority (which means they happen first) and kills have the lowest priority (which means they happen last).
The priority of other game mechanics is determined by how quickly the action is submitted to me, and the logistics of the action.

2) Night Actions:
If you do not get your action in to me in time I will not randomize your action.
You will sit there doing nothing all night, it doesn’t matter what kind of power you have.
However if you fail in your action I will tell you.
If you do not get a PM then your action was a success (as much as you can tell).

3) Day Phases:
I’ll post when the day phase will end at the start of each day, although I may not remind you about how much time you have left.
I will also post when the current phase ends on the "clocktower" (the fourth post in this thread).
If I’m not around when the day is meant to close you may still talk but nothing else will be counted past the deadline of the day phase.
Also if I’m not around (which could be often during some school days) I’d appreciate it if someone could do vote totals.

4) Statuses:
Silenced players can be lynched, and still count towards the overall player total.

5) Powers:
Only one power can be used each night, unless otherwise stated.

6) Afilliation:
Character names in Green are Town.
Character names in Red are Mafia.
Character names in Blue are Neutral.

7) Win Condition:
If you’re town, it means you win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
Other win conditions should be self-explanatory.

8) If there are any questions, or you don't understand something, feel free to ask me.

I'm a bloodthirsty mod, I suggest you keep that in mind.

____ A woman stands at the edge of a tall building, staring down into the busy streets below.
____ “These Spectres roam around like wolves in sheep’s clothing, leading us to the slaughterhouse.”
____ Her blonde hair flows at a slight breeze, resolving itself upon the shoulders of her velvet black robe. The skies are blue, the air is clear, she sighs heavily.
____ ”This city is so vast, so big, how can I hope to save it? How can I hope to save its people?”
____ “Who says they should be saved?”
____ Startled, she turns. In an instant, a blinding pain erupts from her stomach and a cry escapes her lips. She looks down to see a red spike impaled in her torso. Her eyes follow the spike, which then turns out to be part of an arm. A figure stands before her, wearing bizarre colourful makeup and is connected to the red tendril inside her. The figure continues on in an amused voice,
____ “People are overrated. Welcome to New Torork city –hahaha!”
____ The tendril draws back, the woman slumps to her knees. The tendril becomes a giant axe, swings back, then severs the woman’s head clean off. The head rolls backwards off of the side of the building. The figure waves goodbye to it as it falls.

____ The cop was responding to an emergency call in the center of the city. He needed to be careful, in only a few weeks he’d be retiring from the force, or at least he hoped to. The truth was the city needed him, but he no longer needed the city. The growing crime rates were eating away at him, other officers were becoming lazy, and hope seemed to be fading by the day. As he reached the red brick home he knocked on the door.
____ “Open up, police!”
____ No answer. He tried again – no answer. He tried the door and it was open, so he walked in. The home inside was very nice, with no sign of a struggle at all. A white-haired man walked down the stairs towards the officer. As if in a hurry, the white-haired man grabbed the officer’s katana clean out of its holster.
____ “What the hell are you doing?” The cop shouted.
____ “It must be done!” The other man said, and jabbed at the officer with the sword.
The officer’s entire body stretched to the left, avoiding the blow. The white-haired man tried again. The officer stretched to the right. This parry continued on for a few minutes as the officer maneuvered like an elastic band around the room, as his assailant grew tired. Finally the white-haired man exclaimed with sudden surprise,
____ “Hey, watchout behind you!”
____ The officer turned wildly to see what it was, which gave the white-haired man time to slice the officer completely in half. The two vertical strips twitched on the floor like a mutilated slinky. The white-haired man dropped the katana and ran out the door, while his complexion turned green.

The X-Men were the Mutans of Hiroshima (and yes, Ninjas), and Yes, after the accident the F4 were trying to stop an alien invasion (that actually happened in the end).

Thor was the Son of a God. With his big carperter Hammer and a "+" in his chest. Aquaman was a mutant.

I think that's why it makes an odd sort of sense. Sounds like a Dr. Strange/Zatanna combo and it relates to the plot so far. If it's a lie, it's a pretty sharp one. It comes out of left field, but fits.

____ The woman was exhausted, she’d been travelling all night. The last few years had been full of dead ends and scarce sightings, which meant she couldn’t lose it. No, not this time. She’d followed its trail for some time now, and finally it had stopped in New Torork city, which meant after it was dead she’d have a nice hotel to sleep in. Once she had her revenge everything would be okay, all this time spent would be worth it. She hoped this was true, or maybe she just needed it to be true. In order to get to the center of the city more quickly, she took a variety of detours and shortcuts. She passed through alleyways and parks. She was so focused on her goals that she ventured into one alleyway too many, and didn’t hear something swoop down behind her. Muggers are dangerous at night.

____ A figure climbed down into the alleyway where the woman lay unconscious against the opposite wall. The figure approached the unconscious woman and smirked wildly,

____ Two vertical strips of what was once an officer of the law, lay still in a red brick home in the outskirts of the city. Dried blood stains the beige carpet underneath. All is quiet, and seamless, aside from the odd notion that the dried blood is becoming fresh once again. The blood thickens, becomes wet, and strengthens into ropes. The red horizontal ropes attach the two vertical pieces of the body in several different ways, then pull together like puzzle pieces. The body joins as the blood re-enters it. The police officer gasps and opens his eyes with confused alarm.

I block people with my well laid out plan but sometimes blocking gets violent and I end up punching them. Having an Iron Suit I may end up knocking them un-conscience when I punch them thus they are silenced.

I also can stalk the shadows as Investigate someone with a random cop result with the possibility of not being seen. But I can't do this every night. I was waiting to find a target that I thought was acting scummy.

____ The recent muggings in New Torork city have left its citizens scared to leave their homes. The dark night is enough to scare anyone, now they have to worry about being mugged. Only yesterday was the body of a Jane Doe found in an alleyway connecting two very popular streets (this reporter feels it’s best to leave the names of such streets absent). Streets where families have grown up on, streets where good people just try to make ends meet. Outrage bellowed from the nearby communities,
____ “How could this happen here?” A mother of two asks, pleading for the city to step in and help.
____ “I’ve heard of such things in Gothopolis, but here in New Torork City? I never thought I’d be afraid to take my dogs for a walk right outside my condo.” Says another.
____ Most thought the end wouldn’t come, but a recently returned police officer (missing from the force for reasons the precinct wouldn’t comment on) has started the brigade. The officer, Pat Masters, organized a sting operation in the same alleyway that the Jane Doe had been found. Once the sun set, it wasn’t long before the unknown assailant once again appeared skulking alone in the shadows. The officers pounced, and before long the mugger was taken down. ____ The scientist was growing more frustrated and angry by the minute. So many people had tried to halt his work, his very important work. He had never preferred glory, he simply preferred successful achievement of his tasks, and that was being hampered. So much so that he was growing impatient and reckless, a potentially lethal combination in his line of work.
____ He picked up a newspaper from a nearby garbage bin and read the front caption. Something about an “Iron Knight” being caught, a man responsible for many muggings in the past few days. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Still, the mugger had employed several high-tech gadgets in his work. Amateurish at best, but he had still proved that science was potent. Nevertheless, the scientist tossed the newspaper aside. He had bigger fish to fry.
____ Restless, the scientist continued toward the back alleys of New Torork City, the place where many crimes had happened and many would still happen. He merely wanted to make those numbers a little lower.
____ In the distance, several streets over, he saw a shadowy figure. He could not tell if it was male or female, but he could sense the thoughts. This person was up to no good. Further, this person seemed oblivious to the chaos the Iron Knight had caused. Smiling, the scientist reached for his gun. Whether this was a known enemy or unknown thug, the world would be a better place without them.
____ Startled, he found that his gun was not there. Then he remembered, smiling even deeper, more maniacally almost...the gun was the old way. He had a new way, one that would leave no trace, no evidence. Not that he was doing anything illegal, but the authorities may not see it that way.
____ Reaching out, he touched the figure’s mind, planted a seed there that would grow faster than anything in this world. Within moments, the figure’s shrieks of terror could be heard for miles. It was too late for help though. Looking around, the shrieking figure found a pen in their pocket and drove it straight through their temple, ending things permanently.

____ Fifteen minutes later, a figure walks right past a twitching body with a pen impaled in its temple. The twitching body was not quite dead, so the figure nonchalantly drove a red tendril into the body’s chest, then withdrew it. The body stopped twitching.
____ “Hey you over there!” Something bellowed from a balcony overhead.
____ The figure glanced up with glee in their eyes. “The more the merrier, come down here and let me see that pretty face of yours!”
____ The large form on the balcony leapt clean off, fell a few stories, then slammed into the concrete right in front of the gleeful figure. The impact left a small indentation in the sidewalk.
____ “You, you’re the one who killed her!” The large shape boomed. “She was the only one that knew what was going on!”
____ “How do you know it was me? Why that could’ve been anyone.”
____ “She had a giant hole in her stomach when we found the body!”
____ “Conjecture!”
____ The large shape swung one of its massive green arms into the torso of the gleeful figure. The gleeful figure buckled and was flown back a few feet onto their back. The large shape had a white Mohawk and a normal sized body, except for the fact that it was green and had two huge tree-trunk looking arms. Disproportionateness aside, the large shape pounced onto the gleeful figure and began pounding away. The gleeful figure shot out several tendrils at once, a few becoming axes or blades, but every attempt at a counter attack was bashed away. Before long, the gleeful figure had been smashed into the concrete, leaving only a smudged puddle of makeup and tendrils.

If there is no alignment change, then they are just a sitting duck anyway and lynched right off the bat.

I don't know what your information is Deadshot, but if I am not town, it's news to me. Could my alignment have changed when I was resurrected? Yes, but if it did I wasn't told about it. If I am mafia, I don't know that I am and I certainly would not have pushed as hard as I did on JRS4 yesterday if I was. If I am neutral, again, I am not aware of it.

The only think that I know of which would inform you that I am no longer town is a note-passer (which are usually VERY unreliable) or you did some form of alignment copping on me. I cannot for the life of me fathom why you would choose to alignment cop ME of all people after I pushed SO HARD for JRS4 and pointed out who he could not be the town RBer because I was... The only thing I can think of is that you're not town yourself. A townie would not have copped me.

My role PM says I am town. I have not been told otherwise by the mod after I reentered the game. I presume I reconstructed myself back up as Plasticman does.

Because I am town and I look out for the towns best interest. If I am the town RBer and some scummer claims to be, I call him out ASAP. That is how I play. I am not a survive at all costs type of player like many others. I play to the best interest of whatever my faction or alignment is even if it means I die.

Cults typically need to recruit a certain number of members before they can make kills. Also, there was no one to resurrect on night 1 and it is possible the cult leader was blocked or chose to not take an action last night.

Cults typically need to recruit a certain number of members before they can make kills. Also, there was no one to resurrect on night 1 and it is possible the cult leader was blocked or chose to not take an action last night.

Fair enough, I have only been in 1 cult ever as leader but I died night one and we could kill right away. And you could have rezzed me on N2 or MSU on N3. Why would someone with the town's best interest in mind risk dying without using a rez and not use it ASAP? :devious:

Man, I have been accused of being too trigger happy in other games, so I have been trying to be more cautious as to who I vote for. I can see valid arguments for a lot of these targets, but I can't really see why Silver would not be town, so I will vote deadshot.

I actually believe Silver. Here's why. JRS4 claimed RB/silence. Silver rallied back and claimed RB, basically sinking JRS4 for me. Pretty dumb move if you're both scummers.

I think that Quebs & Deadshot are either the last 2 remaining mafia OR they're in a cult/neutral mason group and are concerned about the threat of another such group, even though it does not exist.
