View Full Version : Nightcrawler!
Ok I know evryone would probaly call foul and say he is a broken figure but why dosen't Nightcrawler have CCE the dude fights with 3 friggin swords at one time if that is not being a close combat experet I do not know what makes you one take away the 2 on his damage make it one and give him CCE it should be that way it really should!

Mainly because I think it would be a waste of points and no-one whould ever use it, seeing as how it couldn't be combined with Hypersonic speed for the hit and run attacks that nearly everyone uses him for. Perhaps a better question might be, why doesn't he have BCF? I mean all the other sword using characters have it. To that I say, game balance. Hypersonic + Blades would make him way too lethal.
NC doesn't have B/C/F because it would unbalance him. Being able to do 6 damage and then moving away like that would make him one of, if not THE, most powerful figure int he game. His cost would go up to like 120.
The REAL question is why he doesn't have a teleport ability since HSS doesn't really represent his teleporting very well.

Because if all he had was phasing down the dial he would really suck? HSS represents his powers great, other than hindering terrain and stuff.

Nightcrawler is fine. He's balanced well and adding things like BCF would only turn him into the new Firelord-like pariah on these boards.

Hypersonic speed represents teleport nearly perfectl in my mind. Move in, attack, move away, or multiple confusing attacks as he teleports around hitting a given character many times.
I ofrgot you can not combine CCE with HSS yeah it would be pointless but if you could oh if you could!

I think he should should have alternating clicks of HS and phasing, not a few clicks of HS then 2 clikcs of phasing, he'd be kind of confusing, but it would make him an interesting figure.
"Hypersonic speed represents teleport nearly perfectl " - not really. The close combat form of the HSS power doesn't fit with Nightcrawler at all, hes not fast enough to hit you and just keep hitting you. His teleportation power should allow him to phase as well as carry people. Half of what he does in the books is carry people into and out of battles
Without creating a new power, HSS is a very close fit, however I think think a new power would have been the best thing for him (and other teleportors)

I haven't read comic books for years, but some 15 years ago he'd swarm his opponents in a flurry of teleporting and smacking. I thought it fit him rather well, IMO.

they should've just given him a very high speed and phasing

He wouldn't really be the new Firelord of the game if he had BCF, because he is much harder to find than QTip. Since the fig has a sword, I think he should have BCF. 120 points for a blades HSSer? No complaints here. Then maybe he's justify his high demand/price cost.
I gotta agree with ludd gang, Nightcrawler used to use the tele-attack. I was just reading "Days of future past" and he teleported all around Avalanche, hitting him with a barrage of strikes, until Destiny told Avalanche to strike to the left, and he nailed Kurt with a punch to the gut. Probability Control!
But I think HSS is as close as you can get to him teleporting. He's a great character with an awesome sculpt and stats. He's always in my X-Men army.
