Ok, Wolfer has been kind enough to throw some of my pics up on his website. His are at the top, while mine are at the bottem, so you have to scroll down a bit to see them.
I was generally going for a "comic-book" type feel in them. Trying to create alot of dark shading and brightness on the figure, so I used alot of dark lines. I'm a bit disapointed with the Fixit pic, as he is by far the best heroclix repaint I've done, but I don't think it really shows in the pictures (a bit far away).
Anyway, let me know what you think, feel free to offer advice or criticism. I've been painting for a while, but I'm far from great and suggestions are always welcomed.

Well, I use an extremely time consuming technique of layering.
I like the idea of drybrushing building up susequent layers, and I used to use it alot. But it didn't have the clean look I wanted, so I began to experiment with painting on the individual layers of color directly onto the mini. SO rather than painting a base color and then drybrushing lighter colors onto the mini to build highlights, I paint lighter and lighter layers onto each raised portion of whatever I'm doing making them progressively smaller so that there is a transition in shade between the raised and lowered portions of the mini. Essentially it works like drybrushing, but it turns out extremely clean, and it models quite well I think how a character would be colored in a comic book.
I actually started using this back in my 40K days (shudder!), but with the Hercolix guys I've tended to leave black lines between everything and do a more noticable (rather than gradual) transition to highlights. I find that I need a minumum of 3-4 layers to build good depth in the minis, and I have been sticking to that with the clix (with other minis I tend to build up a greater number of layers...but those are usually for D&D/Reaper types that are intended to be used as PCs and therefore I don't mind putting tons of time into them.)
My biggest goal with Heroclix is to get all of the veteran X-men done. I'm working on Cyclops, and then plan to move onto Jean, but between work and classes it might not be until summer till I get time to really get into them (and god knows I'll need alot of time after Xplosion comes out).
Hulk was the first clix I painted, not to mention my fav character, and so him and Fixit are my favorite without a doubt. Although should I get Savage Hulk I can see that changing. Such an awesome scuplt. In fact I'd venture to say the majority of the sculpts in HC are exceptional. One just needs to take the time to clean them up and give them TLC.

If I sell you a un-modified Mr.Fix-it, Parasite, Desaad, and another unique for a dime will you throw in that pimped out fix-it for free?
:D Your mods are awesome! (^if you take that seriously so do I!)

I appreciate the compliments :)
As for Fixit, I think I'll keep ahold of him for a while. Not to mention that I know trasing moded/repaints isn't allowed on this board, so lets ot get ourselves into hot water.
To be honest, while I've considered freelance painting i've never had the time. Although I'm finishing up my undergrad degree shortly so maybe them. I have to say I usually paint fantasy based minins though, so I'd likely do that sort of thing. The clicks I've painted have either been because they are dear to my heart (the Hulks), or because I want a snazzy looking team. I like the X-men so putting the whole group together on the table all painted up is my desire. Hopefull I'll have the time to build some terrain to go with the game as well, I like the idea of making heroclix 3D.
My painting technique, while time consuming is very very easy. I'm not the kind of person who has really steady hands or good eyes. You should be able to pull off much the same effect if you were willing to try it. It isn't the least bit hard. Just follow the lines of the mini, building up subsequent layers (each thinner so that it looks like a progression from dark to light rather than a series of definable layers). I'd seriously encourage you to try it. It works, and it isn't hard, just a bit slow.
I wish more people out there were doing repaints. I'm a mini gamer at heart so painting is an intricate part of the hobby to me. I've seen some really wicked stuff here (puts alot of my stuff to shame), and I think its an aspect of the collectable mini games that should be better emphasized. (prizes for best painted forces and etc...). And I think it's a real shame that Wizkids doesn't promote this aspect of the hobby. (I'm not talking LE's or anything, but what about a free booster or two for the best repaint/mod, or repainted force at some of the larger tournies?

Your Fixit looks awesome! I love the dark contrast you put on him. Definately a comic booky feel.

Fixit really is a pretty nice sculpt, I wasn't too impressed with him, being a grey hulk fan. But after working on him I think it's not half bad, much like most of the other figures in the game. I mean there are only a handfull that I consider to be really terrible looking. In most cases it's the paint jobs that are the ugly part of the mini.

I'm not that fond of the way Rogue is painted, anyone know where I could get some ideas for alternate uniforms? Did she ever wear the blue/yellow of many of the other X-men?

Repaints of the same character as the base figure are fine, it's the Customs and mods that they frown on

You sure?
I realise it isn't illegal to trade or sell such figures, but I still thought it was frowned upon (and could possibly incur penalties) here.
Anyway, moot point, because I like my Fixit :) Granted, not as much as I like Nightcrawler...but he's worth a hefty amount these days.
