Does anyone use Unique Flash?

I think he looks pretty cool, especially since you'll never catch him...but I was wondering if anyone really uses him in tournament play.

Also, I know this isn't the rules forum, but I had a quick question. Does poison get past invulnerable/impervious/toughness?

i d rather the experienced flash as the vet flash pretty much is exactly the same except for some attack and movement values, quite a waste of the extra 15 to 20 points for the veteran, in my honest opinion.

as for poison, it gets past impervious and supersenses only. toughness and invulverability absorbs it, the same thing can be said about mastermind.

anybody concur with me on this?

On the poison point, sure. I concur. The Flash point is open to debate, but I won't question your profound wisdom on which Flash to use.


Every now and again I'll use the U Flash. Without Perplex, he's an expensive medic killer. He's for fun games.

I've used Flash in Quest for the Cosmic Cube games. His enormous movement enables him to swoop in, grab the Cube, then rush back to the safety of his teammates. In all other respects, though, Wally outdoes him, both in point cost and utility.

On Poison, I believe that Mastermind only works against attacks. Poison is not an attack. Therefore, Poison gets around Mastermind.

I haven't use Garrick for tourneys but for friendly games. When creatting a tourney team speedsters aren't usually high on my priority list. Not that there's anything wrong with him.

I dont think that U Flash would be able to go in very many tournament worthy games but is definitely one of my favorite characters. I frequently use him in just fun games. I use Harley Quinn, Joker, Plastic Man, (perplex) and some taxis and just fly flash and can usually get all the way across the board with a flash that can do atleast 4 clicks. Nice little trick when in a multiplayer game and you can knock some nice damage on superman. Just make sure you can get back far enough. I stick my perplexers on a building then and can just screw around. Most of them have a decent ranged attack too. Outwitters work good too to knock off impervious ( I absolutely hate playing against a completely huge team with doomsday, superman, etc.) It isnt a fool-proof strategy but is fun too play and is really pretty if it works right.

Why does everyone think this flash is wally west. He has outwit which would indicate it is barry allen. Barry allen was a scientist/detective afterall. Wally has also shown that he is the fastest flash. He was the first to break through the speed force. that would make him faster than garrick, easily faster than barry.
There also is no titans version of the current flash, a group which wally was an almost constant member. I suspect we will see a new and improved flash to represent wally.

1. Because the folks at WizKids said it's Wally.
2. Because when he started as Flash in his own title (and for several years thereafter) Wally could barely reach Mach 1, which is the only explanation for why any version of the Flash would be slower than Quicksilver (not to diss Pietro, but aside from that one period of time every Flash in the modern era, including Wally as Kid Flash, has been in the 'lightspeed' category).
3. Wally was not a member of the Titans while the Flash until the most recent incarnation of the team following the JLA/Titans crossover. And even then he was actively a member of both teams. He quit the team in 1983, the same time Richard Grayson quit being Robin. While Mr. Grayson stayed with the team, becoming Nightwing less than 6 months later, Mr. West did not return to the team after he became the Flash four years later. I don't think that twenty years off of the team constitutes "an almost constant member." ;)

I agree we'll see an improved Wally down the road, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a Barry unique either, possibly with Phasing at the end of his dial like Nightcrawler.

And a little more on-topic...

I think that Jay is a great figure for casual play. He's lots of fun, and with a little perplex thrown in he actually turns into a threat.

The problem with him tournament-wise is that he doesn't earn his keep. He's 1/2 to 1/3 of your team in a tournament, which would make him pointwise your big hitter. But he only does 1 damage and has no defensive power. If you throw in a few perplexers to boost him up you're staking your entire team on a one-trick pony, because now he & his support are more than 3/4 of your team in a 200 pt tournament and more than half in a 300 pt.

use unique flash for capture the flag and also use phasing characters like nightcrawler, sandman, swamp thing and vision.

I have a rookie flash that I use.... he's pretty good with the high defence and the hypersonic speed is always a plus

The rookie is ok but cant handle any big guys. Even with perplexers it could take hours to keep perplexing the rookie flash then go hit solomon grundy for a potential one click. And I wouldnt think your perplexers could last that long. Trust me, I was using flash and some perplexers, ok. Then the opponent plays like grundy batman and like a medic or something. Flash just zipped around and all my other guys died. It ended up being a mono flash against grundy. WooHoo.
For CTF flash is a god but anything else he probably isnt worth it.
Yeah he can take care of little guys but you wanna do that early but their big guys are still in the back. Grinner definitely nailed it by putting it together and your team ends up being a complicated one trick pony. The pony is really fun to ride but you end up looking like an ###(hahaha).

Use U Flash, V Flash, and U Nightcrawler and a medic. Fun team. I won a tourny with it. Only reccomended in more than two person games though. Just steal kills.

i have used u flash a few times and he holds his own.

only complaint...his damage. One damage throughout the deal sucks.

also...no defensive power. makes him an easy target.

i use him to go after those pesky medics and other support characters like prob controlers.

he is also easily healable.

once i played superman owaw, u nightcrawler, and u flash

my opposition didn't know what hit him.

I used U Flash in the first Tourney I was in. It was a booster draft, lol. 6 person draft at MegaCon a few weeks ago, I was the last to open and pulled the only 2 Uniques in the whole tourney, Flash and Dasaad. Guess who my first choices were. U Flash is a godsend in draft, he tore V brainiac a new one with one good outwit from Dasaad and V Blue Beetle backing him up at range. Got 3rd though, V hawkman, Huntress and a well place TO morrow on the rooftops kinda kills a team with no flyers.

On the other subject, Inv/Imp/Toughness have been clarified to only effect attacks. Poison, Push and Fall damage(I think) are not effected by it.

Well, my friend uses U Flash almost all the time, and he's really caused some damage with him. If I'm not REALLY carefull then he runs in and kills my medic, and once he even killed my Darkseid in a three-person game, since my other opponent got him within one click of death, and I was trying to get to my medic.
