I have always wondered what peoples favorite theme team was. My personal favorite team is Avengers because the pieces that are in it come with the whole package. I also would like to know if N.E.C.A should bring in a new theme team and wich one you think it should be.
Updated2/7/2011: The reason why the selection is so slim is because it was originally supposed to be Team ABillity's not keywords. But due to my Mistake in words it has turned into keywords instead, No matter though. I love to see what you guy like. I just wanted to let you guys know that is why it is so slim. :(

Sinestro Corps is one of my faves to play as a theme team. Coming in a close second for me would have to be a Batman Ally theme team.

Animal. Love the monkeys, and had fun playing an all Beast Boy team.

As a result, I have Canadian Maple leaf dice, Canadian Action Markers, and anything else Canadian that I can get when making my teams.

I'd like to say that the JLA is, but they're just such a poorly keyworded, ill-constructed team in Heroclix. It's like Wizkids goes out of its way to make them as unplayable as possible, by taking away all synergy as well as constantly screwing them over with the keywords. While I'm sure I could point out dozens of Avengers and X-Men combinations that aren't thematic in comics but are in the game, the JLA has trouble putting together comic accurate teams that also receive a theme team bonus.

I like to rock the LOSH a lot. Today I rocked the WARBOUND and totally destroyed in the tourney.
I must add, however, that some of my favorite pieces are actually pretty weak. I just like the sculpt or I'm partial to their story in the books or whatever. SO I look for reasons to put them in a force.
Who's your favorite not-so-good piece?
And yet, you managed to fit 'Ultimates' in there twice...
It seems i am guilty as charged. My mistake. It becomes a bit confusing scrolling through all of them and trying to make everyone happy. My deepest apologies. :(

Suicide Squad. Fantastic TA, and the selection of the theme is surprisingly variable. I'll always cherish this theme as it was one of the first specific themes I fielded in a tournament, and it's the only Heroclix theme to get me read the book, instead of the other way around.

easily my all time favorite theme to play! lots of huge hulking behemoths to mop up the chumps, and a few lil guys to fill out the rest of the theme. and its a common keyword, love having solomon grundy and red hulk on a team. kinda fun...

Yep, Animal. As if it wasn't already a fun theme, DC 75th added to it with another T-Rex, and soooooo many monkeys (sorry, APES!) Now it's almost too much to resist.
Seven Soldiers of Victory.
Though I'll play them even without the KW - wich is good considering that WK makes it impossible to play any of the 3 versions completely KW accurate.

If you mean, what new team symbol should they add, I don't think they should add any new ones at this point. I mean, say they add a "Sinestro Corps" team symbol... what happens to all of the old Sinestro Corps members? Do they get the symbol retroactively? What if Sinestro Corps is really good... does that mean that the old pieces become undercosted, because they weren't designed with the team symbol's cost in mind?
ATAs are a better system for new additions.
Also, I voted "other", for Suicide Squad/Secret Six.

I voted Avengers. But on the DC side, Justice League.....Teams (all those keywords. But wow, you didnt list Soldier and Mystic. Those appear to be the hotness right now. Atleast until they cave and bring Mutant back. ;)

When I play theme its normally the Avengers. I find them to be the easiest to make into a theme team. They may not be the most comic accurate since you can field the rookie IC Hulk from #1 (1963) with current versions of Ms Marvel and Spiderman. But it is easy to make a theme team out of the Avengers. There also my favorite Marvel team.
Now if only Wizkids would put out an errata joining the Justice League of America, Justice League, & JLA keywords into one keyword.
When the keywords were set up, Wizkids splintered the core team of the JLA in to three versions and it has hurt them when you can only have a select few to join together in this team, yet a lot of the same heroes on on each team. Just put them together so people can field a great JLA team.

I like Monster, but the Monster Hunter feat keeps me from using those teams often as it's too easy for a player to see your team before the match and then spontaneously declare he's got the feat on all his figures. Avengers is probably the keyword I play most often.
As for team ability, I'd say JSA right now. I've been a fan of the JSA since before Crisis on Infinite Earths. I prefer it over the Defenders TA because of the character selection (although Defenders have improved lately with the newest versions of Namor, Dr. Strange and Valkyrie among others).
Invaders are far and away my favorite team to run.
I've been meaning to run an Invaders team myself but can't work out a decent build. What are the good pieces for this? I assume the Namor from Secret Invasion is a must, but then what?

My far-and-away favorite at the debut of 'Theme teams' was definitely 'Scientist,' but then 'Skrulls' got a huge boost with SI. I've played 'Robot,' 'Monster' and the like lately. 'Animal' used to be terrible but is now ... huge, and I must fight the urge to play the Frog of Thunder on every team ever.

Yes, this was infact just supposed to be for Team Abillitys. But i chose the wrong word to put into my title and it has become all keywords but oh well! It was my mistake. SO that even worsens my selection when people choose keywords. But it is still alot of fun seeing peoples opinion.

I prefer the more generic themes personally. My favorite thus far though is Mystical, that theme allows me to run some of the more interesting teams I've put together, including a Dr. Strange/Ghost Rider/Doppelganger/Puma combo. :cool:

My two favorite generic theme teams are detetvies and teens. It's not often where you can see a Martian, monkey, people in spndex, and blank face figures make a theme :), or being foiled by those meddling kids.
As for non-generic, I like using Shield, Guardians of the Galaxy, Defenders, Sinister Syndicate, Crime Syndicate (more figures please NECA), and WL's since I finally can use them all, and not have to include Deadman;)

JSA is tops for me. The only other teams I'll play more than once are Avengers, Hydra, and the Hellfire Club (which has gone from playable to outstanding with the new Hellfire Guard).

Good for 500pt Modern Age games.
Hmmm. Two problems with this team:
1) HoT Captain America doesn't have the Invaders keyword, so it's not technically an Invaders theme team, but I'm sure most judges would allow it.
2) I added up the point total and I get 401, which is way short of 500.
I would suggest replacing HoT Cap with AV Cap and Bucky, which gives a point total of 467 points before feats. Or if the thought of two Buckys (Buckies?) annoys you, swap out solo Bucky with Thin Man so you get an Invaders theme team of:
SI Human Torch
SI Namor
AV Toro
AV Cap and Bucky
AV Thin Man
for 500 exactly.

Animal contains quite a few of my favorite characters; Devil Dinosaur, Howard the Duck, Rocket Raccoon, Grodd, Detective Chimp, Bug, and I could go on. Super animals rock! It's also one of the few generic keywords I don't mind too much. Certainly no one has ever complained about my Devil Dino, Howard, Rocket, and Bug team-up at 300, or even my 500 pt Ape Alliance of AA Ultra-Humanite, AA Gorilla Grodd, R Monsieur Mallah, Gorilla Man, and Super Ape: Peoter. I can't wait to see how the new apes from DC 75th will fit in. :D

Hmmm. I selected Avengers, but that's simply due to the glut of Avengers pieces I own. Favorite keyword themes? All the stuff I currently have in each one's own individual Vessel Rook box, and some that don't get that lucky!
