I'm tired of my bumpy maps, Juggernaut just refues to stand ! I was thinking of taking some cardboard chess/checkers boards (the kind that fold into quarters) and lamenating my clix maps onto them so they stay flat and stable. Any thoughts on this ?
I find that by rolling them up, it helps, and store them in an old wrapping paper tube. I was doing this for a while, then I found a Large plastic document tube at a Stationary supply store for $20 (CDN$) it has a carying strap and is telescopic. I can transfer larger custom maps and is big enough to hold multiple maps (I cary 6 when I judge) You just need to reverse roll them and the sit nice and flat. It may take some time to get perfectly flat, but it will come.

PS, to give you an Idea of what $20 Canadian dollars it worth, I can get two Hero Clix Boosters for $20

I do NOT recommend laminating HeroClix maps...the plastic coating that WizKids puts on the maps does not take well to a heat sealing laminating machine! I ran one of mine through my school's laminator (I teach!) and several bubbles formed from the coating to the lamination film. I tried a few times, (I have to cut the maps in half to fit them in the machine) and it occured each time :(
Anyone else try it with different results?

I got mine laminated at Kinko's and didn't have any problems. They look nice, and you can even put your drink on them!
I laminated mine at the teacher's resource center for my district. Had to cut them in half to fit them thru, but they laminated up fine, and I used transparent strapping tape to reconnect the halves.
No bubbles, no wrinkles. What thickness did you have the laminator set for?

The machine I used doesn't allow for any thickness change. Must be an old one...well, in fact, I'm sure it is. Anyway, I'm glad it worked for someone else, maybe I'll try Kinko's or the teacher's supply store and have them laminate them.

Another idea is to get a piece of plexiglass and set over the top of your heroclix map. of course you have to be careful not to move it while playing(SLIP I could've sworn my Wolverine was hiding in that tree):)
yeah, thats what my venue does. they keep the HC maps under plexiglass, so whenever somebody feels like playing a game there is no annoying setup
