<img src="http://www.hcrealms.com/images/heroclix_lotr_220w.jpg" width="200px" align="left" style="padding-right:5px">As HeroClix begins to expand beyond traditional "Comic Book" properties, it's time that we start to lay the foundation for better discussion on both Street Fighter and Lord of the Rings flavors that are just around the corner.

With that being said, we are happy to announce the General Discussion areas for Lord of the Rings (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=228) and Street Fighter (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=229). While these are both part of HeroClix, we will will keep the discussion separate for now so that they don't get trampled by the more lively conversations surrounding traditional HeroClix.

Just to be clear though if in the future and then end up being 100% compatible we wont get in trouble if we have a discussion involving both Hero and LOTR and Street Fighter in the main forum right??

no; it shouldn't be a problem ... and from my understanding they are compatible. We're just going to separate things right now because until it comes out, everything is just rumors (but shouldn't really go into the Rumor Mill forum).

I expect these forums to be eventually merged into the main conversation with Thread prefixes.

Is there any way to get the SF Evidence thread moved over to christen these additions?

Will any of the other SF threads get moved also?

I think that new sets could be fun. I would like to play some marvel vs capcom style clix fights. Out of any off comic release I wish they would release a he-man set cause beast man rocks!

I wonder if the current existing power and abilities in Heroclix are enough to cover series like LOTR and Street Fighter. More and more Special Powers appear, which indicate that the current standard powers aren't adequate, both in regards to insuring novelty and variety. What powers would Sauron, Saruman, Nazguls, Gandalf and Galadriel have? What would make them unique to field and powerful enough on the battleground?

Gandalf could have thesame powers as Magneto has, after all he's played by thesame actor !!;)

In a series like the LOTR they can just put words on their cards like healing potion, dark magic, etc...Powers like close/ranged combat are no brainers along with the expert equivilent. There are elven capes an mithril and a whole array of possibilities, but I don't know if I want the X-Men to fight the fellowship of the ring.

Actually I think its more then that....A lot of people are placing emphasis on the compatibility with HeroClix.

But the game should also be capable of standing on its own "two feet" (in addition).

It is preported to have an EPIC Set of Rules...which suggests that not only can you play it as Clix, but you can also play it as a somewhat different game.

That alone in my opinion rates its own forum.

Would it hurt to have a thread in the main HeroClix forum on how to best stop the Ring from reaching Mount Doom? No not really.

But why not organizing things?...if you want to search for a thread on LotR it will be a lot easier to find it if its in its own sub forum.

Its not really any different then seperating General Discusion from Rule Questions.

I asked about it and the response was something along the lines of being able to play the whole collection in a campaign style game... Something I thi k has been lacking in Heroclix.

I think that LoTR clix should probably just stick to itself as a game but SF clix will mesh well.

Gandalf will join my Dr. Manhattan for huge games, Legolas should go well with Superman to snipe down whoever targets Superman. Blanka, Aragorn, and Nightcrawler should be quite an interesting mix. Just to use Street Fighter, Lord of the Rings, and Watchmen Heroclix all on the same team.

I have no interest in zombies or monsters (outside of something for Hellboy to punch), so that would just mean I'd spend less money on plastic.

OK, you've persuaded me that HorrorClix is a smarter investment (for me, anyway).
