Well, I have had a few more games under my belt, and I have already gotten my baby steps modding game out of the way, so let's go all out on a non-comics based theme enjoyed by many of us!

I need 20 people, and I will take a few alternates from there.

I plan on starting once Hybridity II, Multiple Roles, Toddler's Strike Back, and Rock/Paper/Scissors are close to ending (or when all 20 players are unanimously ready to start, so indicate "Start Whenever" when you sign up or later in the thread if this applies to you).

This game will based on the Doctor Who BBC Show, seasons 2-5 (David Tennant and Matt Smith). If you are unfamiliar with the characters in these seasons, I suggest you get a Netflix account and watch it all between now and then (not that this will give you a leg up, it is just that awesome).

Also, I have spoken with Rokk, and he is going to try to play in this game!

Let the sign-ups begin!!!

Just sent out PMs about starting, when everyone has given me the go ahead, we will start (I will mark everyone with a :prereq: when they are ready. If you are not ready right away, just let me know when. Likewise, if you have given me the go ahead, but things get crazy, feel free to let me know that as well).

He is basically the only character I couldn't work in (from the modern version).

I'd trade Tennant for Eccleston...and I'd trade both for McCoy. (But Smith is ironclad protected. :) ) Not saying I don't like 9 and 10 - quite fond of both - just that the Seventh Doctor was the one who really brought the Lord to Time Lord.

"The Doctor Dances" - like most any Moffat episode (especially when he was just a "guest writer" so his awesomeness was doled out like a precious sweet) - is darn fantastic.

While I know most folks focus on the sex metaphor, for me, it's "...everybody lives." that really cinched Ninth as one of my favourites (even if it's not the -only- time everybody lives.) Just his passion and insistance on it really sold me.

Technically my first Doctor was Tom Baker (appropriately enough, the insectoid "Ark in Space" was the one airing during the time period of my birth :) ). Still, he's never been one of my favourites. I know, that's heresy to a lot of folks and I'm not saying he's -bad- - there's never been a bad Doctor (even Six did his best and he's fantastic in the audio productions now that he's given proper support) - just that of the 11, he's near the bottom for me. As established Two and Seven vye for first (though Seven oft edges out Two, but Two has Patrick Troughton as a great equalizer) and Eleven has fast won a place in my heart where he tries to crack in to compete with those two (in large part because I feel he shares a lot of their attributes...plus Billy Hartnell's "magic fingers".)

You can count me in though, assuming knowledge of the theme isn't terribly important.

If you get BBC America on your cable, you can catch the more recent episodes (basically anything from the 2005 relaunch on to the most current stuff) most any day. I know for a fact they've been showing this last season's stuff lately and I think they are getting ready to loop back around to 'Rose' (the first episode of the relaunch) some time near the end of February and go forward from there.

If you've never seen Doctor Who, but you'd like to try it out, there are worse ways to do it than to start with 'Rose' :)

Though, just to warn, the US broadcasts have a disconcerting habit of editing out many good parts. So go buy the DVD's. ;)

(Actually if you've got Netflix you can instant watch almost all of the Ninth and Tenth Doctors' episodes, plus a moderate selection of prior Doctors. YouTube has classic series episodes, including the "telesnap presentations" of many of the wiped serials.)

If I was at a proper keyboard I'd drone on a bit longer as to why The Doctor is worth your time. Probably seems silly to say about a fictional character but he's one of my heroes and his stories have had a huge influence on me.

I started with Baker too, and he'll always be a favorite because of that, but I LOVE Smith. Love, love, love him. I will soon be in 5 games:
Hybridity II, Multiple Roles, Toddler's Strike Back, and Rock/Paper/Scissors, and 100 Bullets

I only need 1 more person, but I would be more comfortable if I have a few alternates.

I will go ahead and say that as soon as I get out of 3 of these 5 games, so long as I have enough players to start, I will start the following Monday (unless I get out on a weekend, then I will extend it til the next Monday).

All my roles are finalized and have been checked by charlesx, who then told me he regretted it because he wished he could play. He may pop in every now and then with a vote count.

I had a blast running MvD, and I have learned a lot even since that one. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed putting together, and I will try not to die on purpose in more than 1 game out of impatience to start =]

Listening to you drone on is probably half the reason I signed up for this!

I really liked the 9th Doctor, but couldn't get much of a handle on Tennant until Waters of Mars, and loved the last bunch of Movies ending his run. I haven't really given Smith a fair shake.

Ah, that's a shame because he's really quite exceptional (though I still have trouble with the fact he's younger than me...but he 'acts old', if that makes sense.)

Bit of something for everyone with him...he's got Tennant's exuberance, Troughton's "wolf-in-sheep's-clothing" (silly and then -bam!-), Hartnell's "magic fingers" and "old soul" and bit of impatience with humans, T. Baker's "strangeness", McCoy's "long-range cleverness"...kind-of a jack-of-all-personalities Doctor and he does it amazingly well.

Between his portrayal and Moffat's scripts the series has a real zest and joy and energy that's almost invigorating.
