My best bet would probably be Apocalypse, hes popular, and known as a deranged psycho that takes over the world by himself, and his giant army. I know Savage Hulks look impressive, but i would have to chose the psychotic robot over him, because he actually has a little bit of range, and some great attributes that kinda give him a little of an advantage over him.

So what do you think is the most sought after Unique of Xplosion???

My vote's for Deathbird or Sauron, they both seem like great pieces to have and will probably be in high demand. :)

Id say hes the one most people will pay big buck for as well. Savage hulk may beat him because of his 200+ point cost. Like the arcane draconum of MK.

I think Green Goblin will be in demand. Even if his sculpt is of Ultimate GG he's still one of the best taxis in the game. Willpower and perplex will go a very long way!

Sauron and Hulk will be the other high demand figures.

Hmmm, Anybody but me think Kitty Pryde will be the most sought after unique? She's got that X-Men popularity thing going for her, just like Nightcrawler did - on the other hand there is an R/E/V of Shadowcat, so perhaps the frenzy won't be quite like it is for Nightcrawler.

But hers was the last unique I saw a picture of and I'm thinking since she has the advantage of ranged attack over the R/E/V, she'll be pretty popular. But maybe I'm wrong.

anyways i think Green Goblin will be a big chase figure !! it's from the Ultimate series, it's a bada$$ taxi, and it's the Green Goblin !!.. just a little weirder looking.

i can see green goblin fetching $30 AFTER xp comes out.

he'll be right under Nightcrawler since Nighcrawler is still going for $40+ on eBay.

the "hottest chase" figure in XP would have to be a popular mainstream figure. Sauron, Leader, Deathbird, Kitty Pride, they all won't make the cut.

Hulk or Green Goblin will. and between these two it will be Green Goblin with all those "Ultimate series" readers out there looking to get their hands on GG.

Technically i say Thanos because he was going for like $40 plus on ebay as well, and all the internet websites were selling him for $40.00, and i say nightcrawler cause he goes for ebay around $40 as well ( i know this, i got one for $37) and if you havn't been checking around i havn't found a Nightcralwer under $50 on websites. As for Vision i didn't really see him myself as a chase cause i pulled four of them total, and just got very sick of pulling them, i still have nightmares that all my booster packs are just chuck full of Visions.

All that for only 85 points.

I was lucky enough to get my Nightcrawler before the big rush was on and got him for $25... but then we had a lack of Mojo's in my area so I ended paying $35 for him... so I guess it all evened out in the end... (that same store sells Mojo for really cheap now, btw :( )

Traded a U Juggs and U Joker for a my Nightcrawler, then got another in a booster the next day. Traded a ICU Spidey and a CTU Spidey for U Darkseid at the same time, and got another at the same time. (now have 4 Darkseid total, btw, and have decided I'm not buying/trading figures until I stop buying the boosters)

I think she will be the most played unique with her great stats, but generally people like figures worth a lot of points.

I'd say Phoenix is most likely for a combination of popularity and power. On the other hand, Shadowcat will also be pretty high, since she has a large following.

Most of the rest I think will be sought-after, but not nearly as much.

I suspect it'll be Hulk, due to a combination of:

a) High cost (a la Thanos; this is not really a drawback to a lot of people)
b) Popular character
c) stats
d) Movie

I think Shadowcat's more likely to be the U Cyclops or Proofessor X of the set - she's not even one of the most popular X-Men, and she's got an r/e/v in the set. I could see her going for 8-10 bucks.

But then again, I though Red Skull would be the Comissioner Gordon of the set, so what do I know.

I think Sauron with his mind control or Deahtbird since she's great for her points. I heard that Apocalypse was a let down, I knwo people are amd over G Goblin's appearance, and I think we have enough Hulks. Maybe Spider-Man'll be big too, if they really improved upon him...

It's hard to say right now but early bets are on one of these four...

Green Goblin: Awesome piece! Then again, the same could be said about IC Unique Elektra... :rolleyes:

Sauron: (same as above)

Hulk: He's the Hulk, and a crazy one (in a good way) at that! He's got so many things going for him (movie, fan base, etc...)

Spider-Man: Spider-man done (almost) perfectly, need I say more? Ok... great sculpt, nice powers, original costume! Every Spider-man fan will want one (and we all know there are tons of Spider-man fans out there...)

Having had time to think, I've reconsidered and agree that it may be Green Goblin... and her's why. There are tons of people out there that want a Green Goblin to battle Spidey. There are lots of fans of the ultimate series that will be happy to get any character from the retread universe. There are lots of people disappointed that it is not the REAL Goblin and will swap the model out for a repainted Hobgoblin using the same dial. And then there are the collectors who agree with both things and will want two, one to play and one to mod.

All that and he's got pretty nice stats to boot.

The Hulk may be the one, but if you're looking for crazy point cost with outrageous stats, then shouldn't Elektra be up there?

But Elektra has nowhere near the fan-base that the Hulk has. Compare Moondragon and Nightcrawler, both really good, both hard to get, but one has a much larger fan-base... ;)

With Xplosion, all the evidence so far says it will be the Shadowcat/Lockheed Unique which will be the chase figure.

My guess is that Sauron and Apokalypse will be at 2 and 3, with an honorable mention for Deathbird.

Hulk is important (and a great sculpt) but in game terms he's 201, which limits use - and so far several have turned up from MegaCon, wheras no Shadowcat Uniques did.

ApoKalypse is an Uber X Villain, and also seems to have been rareish from GenCon, while Sauron is so appalingly powerful, every one will want him for game play.

The same is true for Deathbird - for the points, she is VERY good value.

Well we got a couple choises.

Green Goblin, Unfortunately he has a great dial but I dont think he will be the most sought after Unique just becuase of the fig. Otherwise I would say this one would have a good chance to get first.

Shadowcat, what can this shadow cat do that the other cant? Not to much so I would believe that to be out.

Apocalypse, he a possiblity but people complain about his stats too much. I dont think he will be the top one.

Sauron, now this is a possibility. Great stats and a fig that just looks great.

SpiderMan, all the complainers out there finally got a spiderman that they can say "now this looks like a spiderman." The only problem Spiderman has been done its not original.

Phoenix, ok 2 damage through the whole thing and 12 range is great. The fig looks good also. Its not the greatest becuase its not an original. Looks like the same pose as Dove to me.

So I would say first goes to.

I'm suprised more people haven't said spiderman. It seems like this time around he is going to be a fairly great figgure. Defend always comes in handy and his superstrength will be very nice. Anyway I think that they did a great job with the uniques for this set and that there will be a great deal of hunting for most of them. I mean the only unique I don't really want is shadowcat. Everyone else I would love to have and use.

Ahh but shadowcat isnt as Unique as Nightcrawler. Now the lockeheed part will be but Shadowcat has R/E/V's. Also Nightcrawler is the only one in Marvel to have Hypersonic Speed. That's also why he is soo sought after. IF nightcrawler had a R/E/V his unique wouldnt be so sought out after.

We have only one place that sold Shadowcat. At this point in time we dont know if she will be one that no one can find. At least not yet. :D ;) :p

However, I still think it is percieved rarity that will define demand, and for the moment, that seems to be Shadowcat, although I agree that your REV argument weakens that position...

I think Green Goblin will be the unique to get. A flyer with willpower? That's going to be insane if you team him up with the right character. Even if you don't, people can have Firelord attack and probaly pull him away on the next turn or the turn he attacks depending on when Goblin moved him.

Thats why I think Sauron. The thing is its gonna be really really close. The top 6-7 uniques are gonna be in high demand.

Apocalypse will be second in line
Such a cool character, bad dial..but I dont think Thanos' dial was exactly the best ever either

Savage Hulk will be 3rd
Popular character with an INSANE dial, this guy is gonna be HARD to play against i think

I dunno... with Thanos you get the feeling it's all about stats (15 attack, 4 damage, tons of Invulnerability), whereas with Nightcrawler it's less about stats (which are impressive as well) but more on coolness factor.

XPlosion? I'd guess it's going to be Goblin (the 'Ultimate' factor, best taxi ever), Apocalypse (X-Men cred) or Elektra (absolute ######## stats, nearly unstoppable fig).

Hulk? Probably get the same negative stigma that his REV does, although Mr. Fixit sells for more than usual. It's a size thing, maybe.

And U Shadowcat? Ehh, not impressed. Her E and V versions are amazing taxis. She... has a ranged attack that sucks. I hear it's not even a new sculpt, just a Lockheed added. Poor. Can't see it being a big price.

I just completed my GG mod, carved down Hobgoblin-no cape and repositioned arms, new sculpted bat glider and couple of Man Bat's ears inverted and glued to the side of carved down Hobgoblin's head, now I only await the dial. I can live with the fact it will say Ultimate Green Goblin on the dial.

I only wished the stats were reversed for GG. I think he is a pumpkin bomb first type of guy as he soars above then would jump into the fray and slug it out.

Man X-Plosions is going to be great!!!

Funny story... I played a tourney today where you created a 300pt. "Worst Team Ever" and made your opponent play it against you. I didn't bring my figures with me (because from their web site I was under the impression that they were running a sealed booster game - oh well). Anyway, my Pulls from the Boosters I bought?

Well, in the last two sets, the most want figure had three things going for him: Very popular, very useful in game and no REV version. Apocalypse, Green Goblin, Spidey, Hulk, etc. all seem to fit the bill. We can't tell for sure until the set is out.

As i just like to play characters with team affiliation, i need only U Shadowcat and U Phoenix (maybe also Hulk but just for the coolness factor). I hope Shadowcat will be not valued very high because of her r/e/v versions. U Phoenix will be on one of the first 3 places because of her Range of 12 (We have only two with it, which makes it nearly as rare as Nightcrawlers HSS).
