upon opening the storage case housing the figs, a toxic smell usually assaults my nose... anyone else experienced such a phenomena?
Do you keep Crazy glue in your case? My little tube generates quite a smell in my case
I'm not a hundred percent sure about this, but I'm FAIRLY sure that the figures are some form of polyvinyl chloride, and that the paint they use is a latex derivative.
Consequently, you're going to have some odor, especially if your box is in a warm place. I wouldn't worry about getting high or sprouting a third arm or anything, though. PVC is quite safe; a variety of toys are made from it, because it's sturdy and cheap. Latex paint is likewise quite safe, unless you drink it by the bucketful.
By the same token, though, I wouldn't recommend eating the figures, or falling asleep face down in your figure box on a warm day; I couldn't predict what effects that might have, but I'm fairly sure you wouldn't develop super powers or anything...
