Now that the stats of all the new figures are out, I have two questions for everyone:

1.) Who are you most pleased with?

2.) Who are you most disappointed with?

My answers:

1.) Gambit. He's my hero and I'm so glad they finally made him. I'm very satisfied that he has Perplex. It suits him.

2.) Gambit. 1 lightning bolt? Gambit is known for his "multi-card array while kicking some bozo in the head" attack. 1 arrow. Sheesh.

I think energy explosion really covers the multiple cards pretty well - individual cards never really did that much damage; multi-target plus EE would probably overpower him.

They're exploding cards. Energy Explosion covers THAT pretty well.

There are other characters with multiple arrows of EE. Are they over-powered?

No, but they're also generally more powerful than Gambit.

Remy: You like Gambit. Therefore, you want him to be the most powerful fig in the game. Don't be ashamed to admit it-- everyone wants their favorite figure to kick every @ss it encounters. Gambit throws exploding cards, so he got Energy Explosion. But just because he does a certain acrobatic trick in the comics does not mean it absolutely needs to be on his clix. Case in point: Mr Fantastic sometimes stretches his body to protect other people. However, it would seem pretty stupid to me if they actually went as far as to put Defend on his dial. Some comic powers just aren't necessary.

Any time you think a figure was gipped in some way, before you come ranting about it online, go find a person who doesn't like the character at all. Ask THEM if they think the character needs it. They will be less influenced by the desire to have that character be extraordinarily powerful and give you an objective opinion.

Are we understood now? Good. Have a cookie.

This thread was not started for me to rant about my feelings about my hero, Gambit. It was started for others to rant about their feelings about their heroes. No one has done that yet. I have my opinion; sure, it's a biased one. I admit that. But I started this thread for the expression of biased opinions.

So please, start posting some!

I was hoping for dual arrow for Gambit too. I have the image of the 3 playing cards zipping out in an arc and devastating the surrounding area. Oh well at least they made him.

1. Colossus. Man I think he's probably my favorite X-man. I dont know why, he's just cool. Its also great that the X-men finally have a brick to soak up some damage and can deal some out right back.

2. Id have to say that if Im disappointed in anything, It would probably be V Iceman. His dial is pretty shallow, and I think he needed some of that double incapacitate. Ill still use him though, high movement flier, with barrier and RCE. AND a great sculpt.

OR, maybe the fact that Beast didnt get a version of him as an Avenger. That kinda bites too.

Well, I figure Boom-Boom/Meltdown could have used some RCE on her dial (well maybe just the Vet verson) but it's no big deal, really, and nothing I can't live without after all.

Although I do think they could have given Typhoid Mary a few more powers, I'm still happy with the fig as she is

Most pleased with Taskmaster. Glad to see a good second string character. Plus he was always a favorite of mine. Shame he wasn't that good in Overpower.

Least pleased with Boom Boom. Not her in general but I would have MUCH preferred a Jubilee clix instead. After all we got Shadowcat so why not Wolvie's other sidekick? I always found Boom Boom to be boring anyway. If they were going to introduce her, they should have waited to add her with some other New Mutants like Richter, Magma, Rusty, Skids, and Karma. Karma just screams for multiple target Mind Control.

1) I am happy with most of the figs in this set. I was most impressed with Doc Sampson.

2) Beast should have had one fig with Spidey Team (to represent Avengers, Defenders and X-Men affiliation), Scorpion should have one fig in the Sinister Syndicate, the Paramedics will make tournament play less fun than ever.

If we're going by stats (and not sculpts):

Most pleased: A tie between Exp'd Paramedic (cheap healing, gotta love it) & Exp'd Beast (I'm a big fan of the "New Defenders" issues and I think this figure represents Hank quite well; now if only they'll do The Gargoyle . . :D )

Most disappointed: None, really.

I do find it a bit odd that the SWAT specialist does more damage than the SHIELD sniper. You would think SHIELD would have the better guns (although they do have the better range; SWAT is always 6 whereas SHIELD starts at 8 and goes up to 10 on the Vet)

I'd like to congratulate everyone on the maturity of this thread (so far at least)

I guess I'm disappointed in:

1) Ironman - I see 2 things wrong with the figure. a) The low initial attack is not accurate. He may not be in Thor's league, but his targeting computers have shot down heat seeking missiles. That's pretty accurate! b) by the time the Charge ability down his dial kicks in, his attack is so low he'll never hit anyone. They should have either raised his attack back up for his close combat clix or not inflated his cost by giving him Charge. As it stands, you are paying for a power with limited use.

2) Colossus - That first click before his powers kick in mean he either a) won't see action until turn 4 (move, push, pass, attack) or b) will get hit and damaged down past his best clicks. This works for Hulk because he gets stronger as he gets damaged. I'm afraid Peter will be under the dog pile within the first few turns of the game to make sure he never gets to use his best clix.

But don't get me wrong, X-Plosion looks like an awesome set. i can't wait to get my hands on it.

Most Pleased

Ironman: Another Avenger, horay for shellhead.

Least Pleased

A tie here.

1) Beast: not an Avenger, how can this be?

2)Spider-man: how can he have Superstrength and Rogue not? He can only lift 10 tons where she can lift 50 tons.
