View Full Version : Heroclix Poll Toughest Venom
Which figure with the word "Venom" in it, do you feel is the toughest, from a combined strength of dial and special power standpoint. Also, reply with a comment as to which one is most effective for the points in a 400-600 point game using Modern Age Rules.

I haven't played with any of the HoT, but at a point for point I can't see any of them beating HoT Venom. With or without Thunderbolts HoT Venom is a beast and the lack of a Spider-Man TA (to get a similar bonus) on any of the other versions seals it.

Add lunge and T-Bolts to HoT Venom and you have one bad*** attacking tie-up figure

I have a friend who frequents the Spider villains, and Anti-Venom is a tough one to overcome.

Venom from HoT, hands down. This character is hard to beat - you need at least two Outwitters to overcome his Shape Change and Super Senses. If that weren't enough, he has BCF and Steal Energy. Best Venom EVER!

The Venom figures have been very dissipointing. I guess HoT one is ok. Venom should be much better though.

I went with CM Vet Venom. This Venom with Pounce is the closest (IMO) to a comic accurite fig. I've also played him for many years now and like the steady dial. I have not play the HoT Venom much but I can see how with enough feats the HoT Venom can get really broken.

Add Camoflauge to HoT Venom and keep him next to walls so no one can attack him at ranged. His shape change and super sense rolls should keep him alive at close combat while his BCF will rip up anyone who faces him.
When put in historical context, I think the MM vet was a lot more dangerous back then than any of the new ones are now. Especially since back then you could use Pounce with a Soda Machine and hit for 5, with a 13 AV no less.
