Who the hell is mojo?

MOJO: A big cheese in a parallel dimension where the dominant humanoid species evolved without spines.

Mojo runs a sort of entertainment combine there, which provides him with considerable wealth and power. In that universe, they clone slaves that look like the legendary demons of their version of Hell... and, of course, to us look like humans. Mojo liked them because he didn't have to pay them, and because they were handy expendable stuntmen.

One of Mojo's slaves was the superhero Longshot, who sneaked into our universe 'cause he didn't like being a slave to a big yellow pudding monster with spider legs. Mojo sent another of his slaves -- the supervillain known as Spiral -- over to collect him, but due to her romantic affection for him, as well as the X-Men's intervention, this didn't happen. Later, Mojo himself came over and wreaked havoc a time or two.

He's half-crazed, extremely disgusting, his bodily secretions are actually poisonous, and quite gleeful in abusing humans and his own cloned slaves for entertainment purposes -- his own, or for the movies he makes for his fellow Spineless Ones.
