could someone clear this up?
I heard/read that when you use TK to throw an object at an elevated figure from a grounded figure you add 1 to the range.
is this correct?
Does this apply to moving friendly/opposing figures as well?
thanks
wes
You have to add 1 to the range cost if you are levitating objects with TK. I would say the same applies if you are levitating characters with TK.

You only take the -1 penalty when you make a TK attack against a target on the roof from a ground attacker.
If you are only moving objects or figures there is no penalty.
Rulebook:
Moving an Object: To move an object, give the character a combat action. Move the object up to 10 squares in any direction and place it on a square containing clear terrain.
Attacking with an Object: To use an object as a weapon, give the character a ranged combat action, even if the character’s range value is 0. The character then can fire the object at an opposing figure up to 10 squares away or at an opposing soaring character up to 5 squares away. The object cannot travel through blocking terrain, but can go around blocking terrain as long as its movement path does not exceed 10 squares. Add 1 square to the range cost for targets on elevated terrain. For example, if a target is 8 squares away from the attacker and is on the roof of a building, count 9 squares for determining range. Count range from the object, not the character.
This is probably a silly question, but can a character with TK pick up opposing figures and slam them into walls and cause damage(like knockback)? If so, it'd be only 1 click of damage, right?
Actually, savasyn, you cannot use TK to move an enemy and cause them damage. It is fun to TK them into the awaiting arms of a friendly fig, though.
From the Marvel FAQ, 14FEB03:
· Figures moved with telekinesis do not suffer damage as a result of the square they are moved into. I.E. Telekinesis cannot be used to slam a figure into a wall, or knock them off a building.

Just to be clear, is this correct?
when you TK an ally(both starting on the ground), you can place him/her/it on top of elevated terrain with no range penalty.
When you start on elevated, you can TK an ally straight down to the ground (meaning you don't have to move it around and down the stairs).
The Sandman is correct in both examples.
The range penalty occurs when you are TKing an object up to elevated for an attack.

If you can move a ally down from a roof top using TK then can you also move an enemy from a roof top to the ground? Not for the purpose of causeing damage but instead to move then either away from you or into combat with another one of your figures.

This is legal as long as you succeed in the TK attack roll and you have a clear line of fire from the roof to the ground square you want to put your opponent's figure into.
from the FAQ under TK - You must have a clear line of fire to the target of a telekinesis attack or to the target square of a Telekenesis move.
This case would be a TK move.

Good I just had to make sure I was playing legally. Thanx.
