i disagree with a few of those. hulk was only an avenger for three issues and left. while he was there he basicly did nothing.

I'm not quite sure, because I didn't read any comics then, but from what I heard the were both Steve Rogers, except that US Agent was owned by the governement and Captain America....wasn't...I think...its pretty confusing really, almost as bad as Pre-Crisis DC!

Regarding the US Agent/Cap issue it's not as confusing as it might seem. The Government wanted Steve Rogers to follow their party line about issues and become more of a lackey for them. When he refused they claimed that the US Govt. owned the identity of Captain America, forcing him to then don the Black, White & Red gear and call himself "The Captain." The government then passed the identity onto super conservative guy (John Walker?) who was more willing to play the role of good soldier, although he had a few mistakes along the way. Eventually the natural order was restored with Steve Rogers as Captain America, with the new guy taking over the black, white & red costume and calling himself US Agent.

ok, first off, anyone who didn't put captain america as their number one favorite.... is a dork (says the guy who is posting on an all dork website on an all dork topic ;) ) as for the next nine, it just depends on who is writing for avengers at the time.... falcon was a tool before but now the guy who is writing him is doing a good job of trying to expand the heroes personality. there are tons of great avengers, and classic avengers, vision, quasar, t'challa, the mighty thor, Iron man, but still, captain america, especially ultimate captain america is a classic, and should be number one on everyones list ;)
