No punisher!!!

Anybody else want to know why we now have three marvel sets and still no punisher, ghost rider, or omega red?

The Punisher would be an awesome figure, as would Ghost Rider. I want to see Warlock (The cybernetic mutant of course) Magus, and the ever popular Monn Knight!

Well, Ghost Rider and Punisher both had extreme popularity a few years back, and were two of Marvel's flagship characters in the grim n" gritty years. Their popularity has waned a little, but I think WizKids ackowledges their popularity, and is saving them for a future expansion because they need to save some popular characters for later. if the line continues, I'm sure we'll see R/E/V of both, and probably U. In fact, coupled with Silver Surfer, I think those two are the some of the most popualr characters yet to be made, and will probably spear head an expansion focusing on more fringe, less spandex--clad characters.

I had to wait for Iron Man, now we have to wait for the Punisher...it's the nature of business, some have to make the cut some have to wait for maximizing sales of future expansions, un lucky for you that they chose what I imagine would be one of your favorite figs...the one thing that can be consolation is the fact that it wil probably be AWESOME when it comes out( because of the waiting involved).


Ranged combat expert to start , close combat expert(later in the dial) Running shot , 2 clixs across the dial reagrdless of ranged expert or close combat. energy explosion (yes some toughness because of kevlar).Outwit at the end of the dial , This figure should rock the world!

I have been asking that same question about the Punisher from the start. When IC came out I though, "I'll let this one slide just because its there first set and they can't put out all the best characters." But then Clobberin Time came out. So I told myself, "Self, it will be alright, I know this is sheer blasphemy but there is no way they will do another set without him." And then the whole Xplosion Pineapple incident took place and I just about lost it. If they did him right, Punisher would be one of the BEST characters! He could have RCE, CCE, Stealth, Perplex, Outwit, Charge, Running shot, Incapacitate, Energy Explosion, Toughness, and Battle fury. I don't think he should have all of these powers on one version of him but his R/E/V versions could include them all. He would be so easy to make.

I forgot, stealth, not sure about perplex. Incap , charge and fury need to be off the dial for playable points.

the Punisher should be seriously.....a 110 point figure...he has taken out Daredevil and Wolverine , fought Cap to a stand still...he should be a monster figure.

He will be very cool, but I think holocaust went overboard in powers, you've gotta remember that battle fury prevents you from making a range attack, and incapacitate? pushing it.

But yes he'll be cool.

Also I would hate if my Punisher had incapacitate, the enemy is incapacited when they stop breathing :p

Not too sure about CCE either, not against super-heroes, outwit would make more sense. ie, the Punisher chooses to get rid of other peoples powers to make the fight even, he doesnt have to have all the powers himself.

I believe there are no licensing issues - they're making movies for both characters in the next year or two.

Speaking of punisher taking out Wolverine....

Did any of you read the #14-15 issues of the Punishers current series? ####ING AWESOME!!! It "guest stars" Wolverine and was one of the funniest stories I have ever read. In the first issue.... No! I can't give it away. You must go out and find these comics. They are written by Ennis and he gives his take on wolverine in them and believe you me it is great.

Go out and read them NOW!!!

Yeah - on the subject of the Ghost Rider movie, I heard a rumor that Nick Cage is out and Keifer Sutherland is in.

I am so psyched.

First off, Nick is past his prime and I never really saw him as a super hero. Keifer is thriving right now - 24 is kicking @ss, and got renewed for a third season (no easy feat in today's TV landscape)!

If you watch the show, you're familiar with the power he can project. I think he'd be awesome....

I can't stand Cage. Kiefer is much, MUCH better in 24 than Cage is in pretty much anything. My annoyance with the Ghost Rider movie isn't the casting though, it's the choice of character. Daniel Ketch was such a better GR than Johnny Blaze.

Well now I have to disagree. Ghost Rider is one of the most widely modded Hero-Clix around. I think he's got a very loyal fanbase and will eventually show up, abliet unmounted. If we get Omega Red we'll have the entire Capcom X-Men: Children of the Atom roster!

Well you gotta respect that Cage stepped out as Supes because as a BIG comic fan, he knew he was too old. That's respect right there.

As for Frankie, don't forget the one-shot "the punisher destroys the marvel universe". never read it, but the title is enough ;-)

My thought is that (maybe not in clix) that the punisher could take just about anyone out, because of his training. If he REALLY wanted to off Daredevil, he could have in Welcome Back Frank. If he wanted. If he wanted Spider-man, I think he'd be smart enough to figure out Spidey=Peter and that goes for about any hero.

holocaust...did you read the recent Wolverine where they rematch? amazing. Frank does pretty #### well against the most dangerous killer in all of Marvel history! Wolvie may be the best, but Frank is a close second!

Now Frank vs Bullseye....how I'd love to see that.

A story where someone hires Frank to kill Bullseye......maybe a relative of Karen Page? someone posing as Matt Murdock?!

You guys have probably already hit on the reason that Ghost Rider and Punisher aren't out yet. Several people have already said that both character have movies coming out. Wizkids probably said "hey lets wait until about a month before to a month after both movies come out to annouce a new set that has these two characters so that we can cash in on the popularity of the movies." I bet that within a month of the first of the two movies release date we will see a preview of that movie's main character and probably its villian as well as figures in a new set. I bet the actual set will come out midway between the two movies or after the second.

As for the punshers stats, I haven't read the comic, but I've noticed that the characters who use guns have a 4-6 range, although I could easily see an 8. Last time I checked Punisher only used weapons, no super strenght or super powers. If that the case at best we will see 2 damage with RCE or just a flat 3, although if he is a really good martial artist he could easily have 2 damge with CCE. Just my two cents worth.

WizKids will make a Punisher and a Ghost rider, most likely in the next exspansion...Xplosion concentrated mainly on X-men characters, and with A-list names like the Beast, Storm, Colossus (sp?!?), Shadowcat, Iron Man, etc, they didnt need to strech the set anymore...chances are we'll see a big push of Marvel Knights characters in the next exspansion

Punisher should be along the lines of a Bullseye, i.e., a RCE with high attack, maybe though a little stronger or with willpower
Ghost Rider I'd like to see as a sort of calvary unit, high speed (remember, he's on a motorcycle most of the time, and the figure should reflect that) plus charge across the dial, maybe some willpower at the end

But what would be really really cool is if Wizkids decided to released a limited edition AoA (Age of Apocalypse) set, with new scuptures of all the big names
