Attacker rolls for mind control and hits...mind controlled character rolls to attack another character and rolls double ones [critical miss]...the mind controlled character takes that critical miss click, NOT the original mind controller, right?

You are correct, the mind controlled character takes the critical miss click of damage.

Kanine41, thank you...'cause that's what I think too, but in order to be accepted within this group that I play with, we need to hear it from [at least] a judge...

kanine41 is correct.
After the Mind Control attack itself is resolved & the MC attempt is declared successful, the MC victim performs his action (move/attack) using all the normal rules of combat/movement.
And as far as I know, rolling a critical miss results in the attacker (in this case, the MC victim) taking a click of damage.
