Simple question, can you use SS to evade the effects of splash damage of EE?

From the PAC:
When this character is successfully hit by a ranged or close combat attack, roll 1 six-sided die. On a result of 5 or 6, the attack misses this character instead.

Since it does not say "target" of the attack, I say yes they can. But at one of the venues I play, not judge, the judge said you cannot.

Yes you can roll with super sense to make it miss. Super Senses avoids that whole targeting thing.

Thought so, thanks!

Well, if you two Judges agree on this, then go over and knock some sense into the other Judge...

Mostly because you both are correct. Super Senses can be used to 'dodge' the Splash damage from an Energy Explosion attack.

can it also dodge mastermind attacks???

since what you stated hints that it could be a yes...

Damage that has been Masterminded cannot be dodged by Super Senses, no. It is at that point considered damage from a superpower, more akin to Poison than anything else. It can be reduced by Toughness and Invulnerability, but Super Senses and Impervious are useless against it.
