Hey rules folks!!

If my X-Men Team figure has Charge, can he "Charge" in (half his move) adjacent to another X-Men Fig and exchange clicks (Close Combat Action)... all in one action??

Also.... in a similar vein... can Nightcrawler use Hypersonic Speed and move next to another X-Men (halfway through his move), Exchange Clicks (Close Combat Action) and then finish his movement (run for cover again)???

And lastly if the figure dial existed, would this "Charge/Hypersonic Speed - Close Combat Action" trick work with Support??

These seem powerful... but... I just gotta know!!

Thanx for any info,

FeralParrot

The X-men team ability is not a Close Combat Action. It is a Move Action.

Since Charge can only use powers that use Close Combat Actions.... then

An X-men team member cannot use Charge to use the team ability on another X-men member.

Also.... in a similar vein... can Nightcrawler use Hypersonic Speed and move next to another X-Men (halfway through his move), Exchange Clicks (Close Combat Action) and then finish his movement (run for cover again)???
Again..the X-men team ability is considered a Move Action, so it cannot be used with HSS.

If there were a figure with Charge or HSS and Support, then theoretically it would be able to use both in the same turn.

The X-Men ability requires a move action, not a close combat action, and so the trick won't work with it. Charge---Support is a viable tactic should it ever exist, however. Hypersonic---Support has an unsurety, however. It allows an attack to be made, whereas Charge has you act as if you had assigned an action. The distinction may preclude Support and Hypersonic's combination.

Hey, just for my clarification.... well for others, too, I guess..

For HSS hit-n-run, are you able to use super powers?

I know Charge/Running Shot say that they can use respective super powers. HSS doesn't specifically say this.

So I cannot use HSS and Energy Explosion, right?

Whoops!!

Thanx for the clairification...

That's an embarassing mistake, huh?... in front of everybody, and everything... he he

Guess I got an idea and just rolled with it cuz it sounded good... didn't bother to re-read the X-Men ability... pretty funny.

Thanx again,

FeralParrot

I made a custom "Angel" figure... and I gave him Charge for that very reason... I wanted him to be able to linger around the action (flying), then dive in for the "exchange" in one action.

I'd love to give him Support... of course ... but I don't think it's approptiate for Angel to actually "heal" teammates...

I think he'd just Defend them and Fly them in and out of battle. (which is still very cool for the X-Men team... they need it... can't believe they didn't make him for Xplosion, <sigh>

No problemo, FeralParrot.

Using superpowers with HSS...not sure. I think it would depend on which power you mean. Based on the wording as is, I would say that any power requiring an action to be assigned (EE, BCF) cannot be used, but a power that just kind of happens (PB, SS) is fine.

Chapeau confirmed that powers requiring attack actions cannot be done for the attack portion of HSS. So EE, BCF, Pulse Wave and the like can't be combined. Something like Steal Energy or Psychic Blast, on the other hand, is fine, as it simply occurs on it's own within an attack.
