(Note: just because a character appears in this write up does not mean they are in fact in this game.)
The Woodland Office:
Tensions were building. This was for certain. Strange events have been taking place. Not just every-day strange, like a talking badger or a girl whose hair won’t stop growing, no, strange even for this place. The mayor sat in his office, a troubled look on his face as he turned to his deputy. She looked back at him in silence. Both of them troubled by what was happening.
There was a third figure in the room. The man, a sheriff, was leaning against the wall, also silent. Finally, one of them spoke; “This is war.”
The 13th Floor:
How she was feeling, you would never know. She played her emotions like she played her information; revealing only what she needed, when she needed. The outside observer would have just assumed it was an old woman knitting away into the night, but anyone who knew anything knew better. Even in her silence, even in her knitting, bigger things were happening around her, and she knew she would be in the center of it all.
The Homelands:
He carefully examined the wooden head he held in his hand. While these days, he mostly let others do the work, he liked to take the time to do some things himself. Being in charge didn’t mean he had come to dismiss the simpler pleasures in life. But even though he worked hard on his project, his mind was continuously on the war ahead. He had enemies, and he would crush them.
Later:
The black haired woman awoke. She sat upright in her bed when a familiar voice came to her. There, at the foot of her bed, and a familiar face. But that is all it was. A face, or more specifically, a head on a stick.
“Colin” she whispered, but the dismembered pig cut her off.
“It is time” he said. “It is time.”
The black haired woman awoke again.
Magnito is dead. He was Colin, the first of the Three Little Pigs, and a warning of what is to come.

Well, at the very least, you probably know the nursery rhymes and faerie tales on which Fables originates. :)

Day 1
Preparations are being made on both sides. War was upon them. One readied their weapons, the other rallied their troops. This was clearly the calm before the storm. And a storm was brewing and could break at any moment.
Night 1 starts now. You have 24 actions
Night 1
It was late, and they should have been in bed. They flew through the air and enjoyed the cool breeze, completely unaware of the danger that surrounded them. They flew above the farm and saw a crowd gathering around them. A large crowd. Something had happened. They considered for a moment going down to investigate, but knew if they flew lower, they may be spotted and forced to go to bed. So they flew on, leaving the crowd behind. As they flew off, they heard a gunshot.
The farm was alive with madness as they were trying to all figures out where the shooter was. Luckily, the bullet seemed to have missed its target as no one was hurt. But the whole farm was thrown into chaos for the rest of the evening.

A weasely man was angry. Not only had he completely failed his mission for the night, but his target actually laughed in his face. Laughed at what he was trying to do. The man was humiliated and wanted, more than ever, to get revenge, but there was nothing he could do. His target was so far out of his league, it wasn’t even funny.
______________________________
From her room, she could see everything. Not by looking through her window. She didn’t need her window to see the world outside. She had other ways of observing who she thought needed to be observed. But tonight, the man she was watching didn’t seem to be doing anything at all. This didn’t stop her from watching him though.

The sun was rising and the mayor sat in the woodland office, head in his hands. Why did he ever want ti be mayor. He wanted money, power and luxury. He wanted to be high in the social ranking. He didn’t want this.
He only lifted his head when he heard the click of a gun.
“You”, he said, “I thought you were dead!”
“It is not me that is important. It is what I represent” replied the gun-toting fable.
“And what is that?” asked the Prince.
“An overhaul of the system”.

Damn! I really like Charming.
It looks like there were three attempted kills, but only two went through. Who is the weasly man? Nothing comes to mind immediately.
The Weasely man could be Jack.
Who did Charming think was Dead? Rose???
But I'm not sure Rose would be a killer.
deadshot042
03/10/2011, 12:46
The killer was probably Goldilocks. The "overhaul of the system" is a dead giveaway and she never returned to the main series after her "death".

Darn.
Hate to see Charming go already.
St-Dumas
03/10/2011, 13:07
The killer definately sound like Goldilocks (gun, thought dead, overhaul of the system). The people floating in the first part sound like the Cubs. Woman who sees everything could Totenkinder or maybe Baba Yaga. Weasly man sounds like Jack but could be someone else.
Also, I'm not silenced.
Thats Right!
I forgot she came back in Jack's book.

I expect the mafia would be composed of Gepetto and his minions (i.e. Baba Yaga, Hansel, Gnome King, etc...).
With the focus on the war between Fabletown and the Homelands, I don't even know if Blue Beard would be here.
Agree with deadshot on that....
I think this is a "war" overarching, not a Farm vs. Fabletown sorta mafia.

I'm thinking no but its possible. Goldilocks as a serial killer is another possibility.
So I would also expect Bluebeard in the Mafia as well unless Goldi is an SK.
They're possible partners but I'm saying this having not read Jack of Fables.
I'd tend to think of Bluebeard as a townie traitor to Haven or already dead if he's not part of a sking duo with Goldy.

For anybody who hasn't read these stories, JoH to the rescue.
The Woodland Office: This is the main city fables' office.
This would be Prince Charming (Mayor), Beauty (deputy) and the Beast (sheriff)
The 13th Floor: This is where the good guy magicians hang out
How she was feeling, you would never know.
This is Frau Tokender, the black forest witch aka every generic witch in fables. She's a good guy, a very mysterious and powerful one.
The Homelands: This is where the fables come from. It's currently under control of the adversary, the big bad guy.
This is Ghepetto planning to kill all the good guys oh noes.
The black haired woman is Snow White, one of the main characters. Colin the pig died near the beginning of the series and his ghost severed head sometimes appears to warn Snow of things.
This would be the cubs. They can turn into wolves and fly. I'd say this might be the crow brothers if not for the "forced to go to bed" line.
The farm was alive with madness as they were trying to all figures out where the shooter was. Luckily, the bullet seemed to have missed its target as no one was hurt. But the whole farm was thrown into chaos for the rest of the evening.
Failed nk from the looks of it. Probably aimed at one of the animal fables since this is happening on the farm, where almost all fables that can't pass as humans have to live.

Another of Jack's schemes failed it seems but there are other possible weasely men.

Frau Tokender? She's the only Fable I can think of who can see things remotely.

Hey, you expert, her name is Totenkinder, which I'll refrain from translating, but it's not a nice name. (Which, as it happens, strongly calls into question her status as "good guy", but going by the storyline she should be on the town's side here.)

I'd rather not answer that at this point.
Judging by the lack of votes, I am assuming that everyone is okay with a weasly looking man out for revenge? Especially since it seemed like he tried to do something to somone and that something failed?

JoH/Rokk, whom could he be?
Well, if he's a weasley looking man then he's not a member of the "Farm Mafia" (if that's where we think the Mafia is originating here).
He also wouldn't be Goldilocks, whom we're tending to think is the SK.
So, being he's neither of what are the likely main threats, I'm not sure why people are pushing so hard for his ID when it doesn't make sense to give out names willy-nilly and let the Mafia know who is and isn't present out of a vast cast.

Because the biggest weasel (someone who often fails and is laughed at when he does) in Fables is Jack. Jack will do what Jack will do. Jack will cause trouble but at the end of the day, Jack isn't out to hurt anybody.
So if Darq is Jack, I'm not that concerned.

I could totally see Jack as a survivor, thief or some other type of neutral role, though.
He has a vested interest in keeping Fabletown around and he has feelings (at least according to the main series) for Rose Red, who would be town. However, he doesn't really do much to help so it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't town. I just don't see him being scum.

Jack will sometimes do stupid things that cause Fabletown grief but, end of the day, he's still on their side over, say, the Adversary

Yeah, Jack was mostly harmless. I don't even recall if he killed anyone in the main series, and didn't read the spin-off. At any rate, he never wished Fabletown ill, and was mostly out for himself.

It is rather interesting that Jack seemed to get more play than Prince Charming in the series. Though I guess it's in the genes.

I expect the mafia would be composed of Gepetto and his minions (i.e. Baba Yaga, Hansel, Gnome King, etc...).
With the focus on the war between Fabletown and the Homelands, I don't even know if Blue Beard would be here.
Why Gepetto is bad here?
Never read this, any general idea about this Universe? like anybody I know the classic tales, what are the major differences or universe "rules" on this universe? :)

The first, set her shot up carefully. She was patient, precise and had no trouble waiting in the shadows for her moment. Her target wasn’t hard to spot. She lined her shot up, slowly exhaled and then fired into the black of night. It would have been a killing blow, but things aren’t always as they appear. Although her aim was true, the night can sometime play tricks on you.
The second’s methods involved a lot less cloak and dagger. Her target was cowering in a corner.

“To send a message to your old man” replied the blond fable. “You see, Fabletown got their message. They government was corrupt and the mayor paid the price. But those back in the homelands are the root cause of it all. They need to know that this war is just starting, and we mean business.” As the bullet pierced the young boys skin, flesh became wood and he crumbled to the ground.

This could be the pups again, can't really think of anyone else that would talk like that. Not sure what the letter is. I could almost see them as a ghost writer, but I'm not sure if what Mags thinks of ghost writing and it totally wild speculation.

If the mafia is the Adversary then I would say this is Baba Yaga making the hit. If it's not her it would likely be one of the 13th floor fables like Totenkinder.

I think the first blond is Cinderella missing a hit, probably some kind of magical protection on her target. The second is obviously Goldie killing Wade.
A creature was wandering around, lost. His target was nowhere to be found. He tried to return home, but found it strangely deserted. He was lost and confused, so he hid. Hid for the night, hid for the day and hoped it would all be alright in the end.

But all the talent, all the skill in the world couldn’t save him tonight. Not that there is really a good way to go, but when magic is involved, it always seems that much worse.
Looks like a magician got Swineheart. The snow queen (who would be allied with the adversary) is a possibility. I don't see Baba Yaga being in this game, simply because she was defeated far earlier in the series but she is a killer magician so I wouldn't completely rule it out. Could be friendly fire from one of the good guy mages, too.
Two blonde women, in two different areas, readied their weapons. They both set out in the night with two very different missions in mind.
The first, set her shot up carefully. She was patient, precise and had no trouble waiting in the shadows for her moment. Her target wasn’t hard to spot. I agree with Morph that the first blonde is probably Cinderella, who could definitely be the town vigilante (or any number of roles, really, but she looks like she's trying to make a nightkill).
The second blonde is definately Goldilocks. Targeting Pinocchio isn't terribly surprising, in hindsight, as he was probably able to win with the town or (assuming they are homelands bad guys) the mafia. So if Goldilocks is the serial killer (or in charge of a secondary mafia), it makes sense for her to take out the guy who can win with everybody but her.
A creature was wandering around, lost. His target was nowhere to be found. He tried to return home, but found it strangely deserted. He was lost and confused, so he hid. Hid for the night, hid for the day and hoped it would all be alright in the end.
Failed mafia hit is my first reaction but since it looks like the town vig is Cinderella, it means Swineheart was probably the mafia kill. There's a chance Cinderella or Frau is a jack of all trades and the other is the vig, explaining the two previous kill attempts and this is still a failed mafia attack.
Otherwise, I'm not sure on this one. There are lots of creatures in Fables, good and bad.
Out of curiosity, did anyone target me last night?
Not I.
Emphasis mine.

Probably flavor text. The three knights were only around for a page or so, each. Boy Blue made short work of them. I doubt they merited inclusion in the game.
I think it's more Mags being like "her kill failed for some reason and I'm not gonna tell you who she was targeting so naaaaa. :p"

Sky having low posts is common.
I know Mags was looking for replacements so I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to find someone to take over for one or both of them.
Which again, isn't to say they shouldn't be lynched (except for the whole not being able to lynch anyone today thing) but I'd just as soon see them replaced or vig killed. There's more info to be gained by pressuring someone who will respond and less chance of accidentally voting off a townie.

I'm not sure I agree with that. If cop has a mafia, they should definitely come forward with that info so the vig can kill the mafioso tonight. If we're afraid of a mafia busdrive, then he should still out the scummer and not risk going to the grave with that info.

Agreed. Let's end the day phase.
Fabletown
The pieces were assembled, but without access to the sacred grove, it was no loose. They could make a wooden boy, but they could not bring him to life. They wept at the loss of such a valuable asset and friend.
Homelands
He mourned, but he was also furious. His son, while disobedient, was still his first son. Today he would mourn, tonight he would get revenge.
Night 3 starts now.
NOTE: I am going out of town. This phase will last until the weekend, when I return. Sorry.
Night 3
The blonde was persistent. She so rarely failed in what she was trying to do that she didn’t exactly take failure well. She wasn’t exactly sure how her mission the previous night had failed, but she was determined to try again. This time, she was taking no chances. The weaponry was state-of-the-art. The best money and magic can buy (she’d pay for the latter later). Coupled with her general skill and know-how, no one could survive what was coming. Or at least, she thought. But other forces were at work. Forces that, despite her planning, she was not prepared for. Another night, another failure. She was not amused.
_______________________________
She wasn’t known for losing her cool. She was level-headed, even in a time of crisis. But sometimes, on long hard days, even the best of us can reach their breaking point.
“I’m counting to 10” she yelled. When she got to 9 and not gotten the response she wanted, her eyes narrowed just a little. Everyone around knew she was serious now and by 10, things were as they should be.
________________________________
A heavily armed fable open fired at her target. The stream of ammunition would obliterate anyone or anything and would surely prove her point and be a large step towards her cause. But there was a flash of blue just before the trigger was pulled. She stopped firing. The target was gone.

Cinderella failing again
The blonde was persistent. She so rarely failed in what she was trying to do that she didn’t exactly take failure well. She wasn’t exactly sure how her mission the previous night had failed, but she was determined to try again. This time, she was taking no chances. The weaponry was state-of-the-art. The best money and magic can buy (she’d pay for the latter later). Coupled with her general skill and know-how, no one could survive what was coming. Or at least, she thought. But other forces were at work. Forces that, despite her planning, she was not prepared for. Another night, another failure. She was not amused.

Not sure possibly Snow White

“I’m counting to 10” she yelled. When she got to 9 and not gotten the response she wanted, her eyes narrowed just a little. Everyone around knew she was serious now and by 10, things were as they should be.

Pbdeberry hasn't been online in two weeks. Mags posted in the "need a replacement" thread a week and a half ago (which I noticed when I posted there to replace Pbdeberry in my game) and hasn't received an answer to the best of my knowledge.
I'm okay with lynching him, especially because Mags can't seem to get a replacement right now (which just happens sometimes) I just want us to all be aware that voting for Pbdeberry will not result in him roleclaiming. The only way we're going to learn something about Pbdeberry is by lynching him.
My opinion on the matter is that when we don't have a better lead, we should lynch him. A totally inactive player only hurts the town and he could be mafia.

I agree with Michigan's look at the writeup except I feel that it is the White Queen, not Baba Yaga that fails to kill the North Wind. He calls his attacker "a fleck of snow in the wind."
I'm similarly not sure where the curse was coming from. Perhaps a one shot mafia ability?

I'm not so sure that the person trying to kill the North Wind isn't the same female hitter we've before. It would make sense for the North wind would use snow as a reference to/against his power.
With the inclusion of Snow in what seems to be the cub's nightly appearance does anyone else think it could be a ghost writer or something of the sort? I'm not sure what else they could be from the appearances or from the comic. Possible misdirector I guess. I don't know, it's not terribly important, it just bugs me that I have no clue what they could honestly be.
I think it's a fair assumption that the scum might know who Cinderella is, as this is the second night she's been blocked. That or "she" just has really bad luck in targeting.

Yeah, I was definitely wondering about the cubs. I mean, I like them and I hope they're in the game but at the same time, they aren't doing anything and they aren't being snoopyish or dragging, either. They could be a ghost writer which means their appearances could just be a mafia power.
If the scum knew who Cinderella was, she'd be dead. Or they'd be misdirecting her into townies. I don't think she's being blocked, based on her appearances. I'm thinking she's targeted a bulletproof character (town or mafia) or she's targeting a scummer that's being doctored and her target is merely not being shown because Mags is against writeup copping.

The farm was in disarray. With the Sheriff dead, there was no one to real them in. The only one they may have listened to was strictly forbidden from entering the farm and thus, the chaos continues.
The woman in change was doing her best to keep everyone calm, but she could not do it alone. There was no hope for her to quell the growing insanity around her. The animals were stampeding and the red head was caught in the middle. Killed by her own forces.
St-Dumas is dead. He was Rose Red (Fabletown), a girl perpetually in her sister's shadow
Night 4 starts now
In 24 hours, I received 4 actions. Out of 18 people, I got 4.
That may be the worst turn out I've ever seen in any of my mafia games. Ever.
Night 4
He was built solid. He had to be. To be able to stand up to anyone that would challenge his undeniable power. Or, at least, that was the illusion that must be maintained. He wasn’t in change, but he must appear to be. Any onlooker, any civilian, and meat, needed to believe that he was more than just a puppet on a string (figuratively speaking, of course.) But he was not as solid as he once was. He had been under steady attack the past few nights, slowly chipping away at his defences and tonight, he reached the breaking point. A stray bullet from a gun happy fable took the “emperor” down.

The revolutionary had been out of touch with those in the city for a while. She was not privy to information that had become almost common knowledge in Fabletown. She did not know who the real power behind the Empire was. So it is no surprise that when she toppled the impressive figure, she believed that this evening, she had single-handedly ended a century-long war. How foolish.
Maybe this was the reason she let her guard down, allowing another blonde sharp-shooter to get the jump on her.

He knew something was wrong. This woman was not who she seemed to be. He could smell it on her immediately. He knew when she should smell like and this was not it. She knew her cover was blown immediately, so she jumped to plan B. With a smile, magic filled the room and a howl was let out from the rugged man. She had heard the bad news about the Adversary, but this would help make up for it. The Empire lost a pawn, but she just toppled a king.
She left his body lying there, lifeless. An hour or so later, two figures, a tall one and a short one, would stumble across it. Realizing there was nothing they could do, they wandered off. A tear in the short one’s eye.

I can't tell if he is hinting, or just being Carlos.

Oh, I think he's hinting, but I'm not sure at what.
I have an idea, but I'm not sure.
For the moment, though, I think it would be more prudent to focus on somebody else.

So Carlos and Grinner (who I had missed, thanks) have checked in. That leaves deadshot, Immortal_Raven, and Silver Lantner.
Moving down the line change VOTE: deadshot.
And why exactly are others voting for Grinner? Beside my missing him on my potentially silenced list, is there some reason to suspect him?
