Alright, last night's (March 7) Raw featured the single greatest promo I have seen in the past five years, once again delivered by The Miz. Dude's on fire right now, and seems to be getting better by the week. REALLY hoping he retains at Mania, as I think he could use the belt for at least another couple of months, but I think he's really coming into his own regardless.
Thoughts?

I firmly believe that Miz should retain at wrestlemania.
He honestly needs the belt more then John Cena does.
Then again, I want to see Michael Cole win in his match, so perhaps what I want is flawed.

I could honestly care less about the Miz, I guess I just don't find him as appealing as other people. Coming into his own or not, I just don't buy him as a World Champ. To me, he'll always be US Champ material that got too big a push.
Perhaps I'm just cynical, but I don't see what everyone else is so hopped up on. Punk is way better on the Mic overall and I still think Rock's promo a couple weeks ago obliterated anything the WWE has done in a LONG time.
Still, if he is to be taken the least bit seriously, he needs to retain at Mania, and unfortunately, I have a feeling that won't happen.

About the Rock's promo.... I marked out. I think all of us did but I am wondering, was it just that good or are we all nostalgia-ing about it.

I was there last night and saw all that in person (bought a Miz shirt!).
Other than the Stone Cold segment, Miz stole the show. Pretty hot crowd, we boo'ed Cena pretty good. I marked out the moment the ambush started and especially his promo and then SCF/People's Elbow on Cena. I'm thinking he retains at 'Mania after the Rock hits the Rock Bottom on Cena.
I think Miz will retain the belt because just like he said he isn't getting any of the attention. It's Miz vs Cena at WM and everyone is only interested in Rock and Cena. What better way to put him over huge and piss people off then for him to walk out of WM as the Champ in a match that most people forget he is even in. He's the WWE Champion in the Main Event of WM and he's the odd man out. I think it's brilliant.

Somehow I see this situation playing out
Cena vs Mix the ref goes down and Cena hits the AA. Then the Rock's music hits and he makes his way down. Puts on the ref shirt and goes to count but its been too long and Miz kicks out then Cena gets in Rocks face for being so slow Back and forth and Miz Shoves Cena into Rock which pisses him off and he hits Cena with a Rock Bottom. Then Glass Shatters and Austin comes charging down stuns Rock, Stuns Miz and counts 3. Then the last image of the night is Cena and Austin sharing a beer together in a symbolic passing of the torch
And thus if they want to setting up a Rock vs Cena match at Wrestlemanina 28 in Rocks Old Stomping grounds of Miami

The Rock/Cena thing is going to happen this year. Probably at SummerSlam. The Miz will retain because the Rock will interfere with Cena...the Miz's lame attempts at getting the Rock's attention is just to keep him relevant in his own title match! He is an afterthought in this match, which leads me to believe that he isn't quite World Champ material...yet...
On a side note, I hope every wrestler in the locker room gets to take turns beating the hell out of Michael Cole after the King is done with him. I would love to have JR back...

He's an "afterthought" who has STOLEN the past two Raws at LEAST.
I don't care about a "match" that isn't going to happen. I DO care about the match that IS going to happen, and Miz is MAKING me care.

I am more excited for this WrestleMania than any in years. Even without the Mitb match.
Most of it is regarding the miz/cena/rock angle. Lol, who WOULDN'T be an "after-thought" in this rock/cena battle? No villian on the current roster for sure.
