Can someone please explain to me the function of the following:
Support - Can you the person heal themselves?
Energy Explosion
Mind Control
Thanks!

1. No, they may not heal themselves, only other friendly figures.
2. If you hit the target, then you compare your attack value against the defense value of the figures adjacent to your target, and if your attack is high enough the adjacent figures will also take a click of damage.
3. If your attack is successful, then for one immediate action you act as if the attacked figure is a member of your team. Give him an action as if he were part of your force.

I'm still not sure about healing one's self either.
Energy explosion means if you are attacking an opponent that happens to be standing adjacent to at least one other opponent, you role the dice ONCE and compare that role(plus your attack value) to the targeted opponent and all adjacent ones. If you hit the targeted one, then he takes 1 click, any other ones hit also take one click. If you miss the targeted one, you miss them all so aim for the easy guy!
As far as I know, toughness and invul. negate this damage so take that into account before you EE the Hulk, the Thing and Wolverine when they are standing next to each other.
Mind control, when successful, allows you to control an opponent's figure like it was your own for that part of the turn. I believe it wears off at the end of your go so have them bash their buddies right then! If you mind control someone over 100 points, you take a click yourself. Actually, a click for every 100 points they are worth.
I'm sure you'll get a number of other replies with more detail or proper answers if in case I screwed up anywhere.

Yeah Invul and Toughness can prevent EE damage. Ironically Semi-Impervious cannot. Nonetheless, the only way I've found--as a rule--EE to be that great of a power is when you can have multiple targets to shoot. Hence you can target each figure in a cluster and nail each figure. Assuming the attack roll is high enough you can whittle down Toughness or Invul figures what with the target damage AND splash damage each figure will take.
Xplosion is exploding with figures with the EE ability. Unfortunately, if memry serves, only Vet Iron Man has multiple target attack. Gotta love the Vet and Exp Ultrons!

What is "semi-impervious"? Is that like sorta pregnant? ;)
Though I've never done it, EE sounds pretty bad-a$$ if you do it with a fig that has 2 or more lightning bolts and a SHIELD fig in tow! 4 clix each vs the standard 1, rock on!! The down side is that you use an extra action per SHIELD fig used.

"Semi-Impervious" is an in-joke. Since there are several examples where Impervious has no preventative effect where Toughness and Invulnerability do, combined with Impervious' lower devense values, makes it a pretty poor alternative to Invulnerability, despite what the name "Impervious" would lead you to believe.

Mind Control Question
What is the breakdown?
If you are 47 points and someone MC's you. Do they take a point? Or do you round down?
If you are 95 points and someone MC's you. Do they take a point?
If someone is 101 points and you MC them. Do you take TWO points?
Someone tell me how this works!!!
So far I have played that if you are 100 points or less the MC'er takes one point. If you are over 100 but less than 200 the MC'er takes two points. Is this wrong??? It makes being 101 points a rough one to MC! You only get a free action from a ~100 pt figure but have to take TWO clicks of damage.

Ah, got it. I was under the impression that impervious was the same as invulernability except that you also got to role 1D6 to see if the attack missed. I can't find it listed in the FAQ and I don't have any other docs here at work, where can I find the description of this power online?
Mind Control damage breakdown
99 points or less, the MCing figure takes no damage
199 to 100 points, the MCing figure takes 1 damage
200 + points, the MCing figure takes 2 damage.
As of yet there are no 300+ point figures that can be MCed

Here's what is says in the FAQ:
# The damage is 1 click for each _full_ 100 points. If the target is less than 100 points or if the attack is unsuccessful, the Mind Control figure won't take any damage.
Sounds like 1-99 point figs give no clix and 100-199 do 1, 200-299 do 2.

Thanks for the breakdown. Makes MC better than the way I was using it. My way you almost HAD to have a medic handy to heal your headache.
Is there a >200pt figure? 195 for V-Kang is the most expensive I have seen so far. Oh, Sentinels I guess; but you can't MC them, right?

Vet and LE Superman both clock in at over 200, and the upcoming Xplosion Hulk Unique is 201 points. I suppose to make up for his lack of Battle Fury to a degree.
Unfortuantely for the figure with Impervious, he needs to be the target of an attack to have it activate.
Impervious
This character reduces damage delivered to him or her.
(Optional)When this character is the target of a successful attack (either close or ranged combat),roll 1 six-sided die.On a roll of 5 or 6,the attack misses completely and the character takes no damage. On a roll of 1 to 4, the attack hits, but reduce the damage by 2.
Figures over 200 points, V Superman and OWaW Superman, and the Savage Hulk from Xplosion are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. The Sentinals and Sinestro can be 200 or 300 points, but are immune to MC.

I see, so it's the way the power is worded that creates this loophole. Has it been passed by the designers to see if that was exactly how it was intended? Seems to me that the 2 click absorbing power should be passive, like invuln. and toughness, but the die role can only take place when targeted. The fact that Superman can take undiminished splash damage is rather odd.
Yep... this is the way it was intended....
This was analyzed a while back ago.
MIND CONTROL = at it's extreme
my Mad Hatter MC's (Mind Controls) your Gorilla Grodd and takes no damage as Grodd is less than 100 points. Grodd then MC's Controls Brainiac and takes a click for doing so plus a click for pushing. Brainiac MC's Darkseid and also takes a click for it and 1 for push. Darkseid MC's Key and takes no damage. (At this point, Key cannot attack Grodd, Brainiac, or Darkseid, as they are still considered as part of my team until the action is completely played out) Key Outwits Catwoman's Super Senses and MC's her. Catwoman moves next to my Bane. As soon as Catwoman finishes her move, all the Mind Controlled characters are done and no longer a part of your team.
This all took just 1 turn action.
My Bane then CCE attacks Catwoman for 5 clicks for Turn Action #2.
