They just wanted to get away from it all, and Vanillaville looked like a lovely, relaxing village in which to escape the hustle and bustle. A quaint village with rustic yet clean little homes scattered amongst softly rolling hills, informal gardens smelling of roses and lillies. Green pastures filled with grape vines or olive trees. Warm, but not too warm, a slight breeze stirring the linens hung out to dry. In the center of the small town was a bed and breakfast where the vacationers were staying. Out back, a small pool surrounded by deck chairs offered a place to relax with a book.
Yet there was something in the air, an unsettling feeling each vacationer felt feathering over their skin like a lovers warm breath. Some imagined they could see something, just out of the corner of their eyes, but of course as they turned nothing was there.
One vacationer came down to breakfast early, the first to arrive. She was glancing over the delicious spread of muffins and danishes, eggs and ham and bacon (ahhh, bacon), all smelling like heaven. She decided to pour herself a cup of coffee first, a splash of cream and a dash of sugar, she takes a sip ... and proceeds to keel over.
A few minutes later a couple enters the dining area and sees the woman on the floor. They rush to her side, but it is obvious she is dead. As word spreads everyone has the same thought as they remember the uneasy feeling they all had ... they should definitely pay attention to their instincts.
Truffle Shuffle is dead. She was a vactioner in Vanillaville.

Rereading older games, people had said how useless they were and figured Truff would likely not include them in the future. So I claimed tracker to sway the vote thinking that if it was anyone but me, there was at least a chance to not vote off a townie day one. I fished for tracking suggestions thinking that would reveal something later in the game.

Take note of those who aren't just voting, but trying to put down justification for my lynch so they can later go back and point to it as the reason for their lynchign a townie. That said, I completely understand your votes. I tried something new and it crashed and burned. I wasn't actively trying to out a townie. And for that I'm actually feeling a bit guilty.

So you're not the tracker? And no I didn't do it to selfishly garner doctoring. Otherwise I'd not be coming clean now. I'd just go to the grave and when I came up town, you'd get lynched. I want the town to know the truth before I die. You know I'm all about the win condition and not the self. if I'm town and my death in some way helps the town, I'm all for it.
Also keep in mind that me claiming tracker when not the tracker does two things. 1) the mafia will likely waste whatever "mess with" power they have on me instead of someone with an actual power. That helps the town. I feel this counteracts the doctor thing because the doc would still be doctoring a townie. 2) lynching anyone but me gives us a slightly better chance at hitting non-town on D1.

True that my timing was poor due to me not being prepared for the claim D1, but this was my pocket claim that I intended to give.
MSU, I disagree that today is useless. Keep a close enough eye and all lynches are useful in vanilla.

It made perfect sense in my head. What can I say? I didn't hear anybody calling me dumb for fake editing my posts last game. Maybe because that seemed to work. This one didn't work. I use vanilla to try new things. Worst case scenario, the town lost a vanilla townie.

Thanks for not rushing this lynch MSU. It's given me the chance to check in and get caught up. I'm back and forth on the different sides of this argument. I find it kind of funny what Stan has done. If he's town, it's funny and at the same time extremely detrimental to the town. I get that mafia is about lying, as was said before, but this was an odd lie to save one's self.

So either the doctor got lucky or the Mafia/SKer targeted the same person. Unfortunately, the Mafia/SKer will know which of those two options is true and we won't.

Based on running basic mafia party games, I think not having a SK is more likely than having one.
However, it's not impossible, so RB'ers and JK'ers (if they exist) may want to keep that in mind.

Not that I'm defending MSU, but I'm glad he kept the day phase open. It gave me a chance to check in. Closing it early would have given quiet mafia members a chance to not talk at all. Then they just come on during Day 2 and say, "Wow! Day 1 went fast. I didn't even know we started." It would have given them a free pass. Or it would have made non-talking townies look like mafia. I think the discussion allowed everyone to check in. So there was a benefit in that regard.

Well, for this I'm curious about, because it seems pretty straightforward, though I'm a bit leery of a tracker claim, since a tracker in vanilla mafia is pretty... well, useless. Unless you get Really Really Lucky.

But to get's point, you didn't claim tracker yesterday. You just hinted at it. Since no one else came forward, you can now claim tracker today. Had someone else come forward and said, "MSU is right. I'm the tracker. Stan is lying." You could have just said that you thought Stan was lying and called him out. I can kind of see Get's reason for wanting to vote for you. It's a convincing argument. I'm not convinved that MSU should be lynched today. Get makes a convincing argument, but taking out another townie is a bad move. If he is the town tracker, then I definitely don't want him being lynched today. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for today. If you are correct and you were targeted for a kill, you obviously survived. So that means the doctor targeted you, too, then. So, yeah, you might out the doctor. But you also might out the killer. 50/50 either way.
Now, if you out the doctor and we lose him, then we're going to lose that protection, sure. But that protection requires that he actually targets someone targeted for a kill. So, barring an obvious choice to protect and heal, like yourself, it will just be random chance that he actually protects someone that needs protecting. In other words, even if the doctor is around, he might not be doing us town any real good with his power.
Now, if you out the killer, SK or mafia (are there normally SKs in vanilla games? I can't remember...), then that is one less threat the town has to worry about.
I am thinking that the potential reward out-weighs the risk here.
