View Full Version : Which teams are missing?
WakandaMan

What do you all think the chances are that Wizkids will bring out a set that will introduce new teams to the mix?
I have noted 3 fairly major teams form the MU who have yet to have a clix for any of their members. Could this be because wizkids are contemplating whether or not to introduce their teams? The 3 are:
Thunderbolts, Alpha Flight and the New Warriors. There's also the Kree and the Shi'ar, although they are not exactly teams.
The Thunderbolts one in particular raises my suspicion since Zemo is the logo of choice for the Masters of Evil. Obviously Zemo must be made at some point- but will one of his REV be in the T-bolts? I sure hope so.
What does everyone else think? And are there any other major teams that we are yet to see any members from?
Alpha Flight and Excalibur would be cool. Thunderbolts would be neat, I guess, but I got out of comics way before they hit the scene.
Villain team I'd like to see would be Marauders, but they wouldn't have to be a whole new team...would just like to have the figs...Sabretooth is already here. :) Add the others. :D

I'm really struggling to think of bad guy teams...
Serpent Society and Hellfire Club come to mind, but they've already had members released.
Atlanteans would make a great new pleb team with Aquatic movement, and Namor to lead them.
The Invaders aleady have Cap out. Grr...that would've been fun.
Dark Falcon

there's these other teams..
The Inhumans
The U-Foes
Ring Master and his Circus of Crime (not sure if thats the right name)
The Frightful Four
plus loads of others....

I really think that they should do the Hellfire CLub.

Plenty of Evil Doings gathering together..
Mutant Liberation Front
The Alcolytes
Alliance of Evil
Mutant Force
Resistants
Dark Riders/Riders on the Storm
Factor Three
Gene Nation
Savage Land Mutates
Reavers
Upstarts
Wrecking Crew
(As you may have noted, all of these except the last are prettying much X-Related, I'm sure the other comics have their share as well...)
Now, do I expect to see any of these? Heh.. Nope.
WakandaMan

I'm hoping they'll do Wrecking Crew at some stage, but I'm sure they'll just come under the Masters of Evil banner, since they have been in that much bigger team already.
An Inhumans team would be awesome. Pity we already got Medusa as a F4.
I'd love to see U-foes clix!
Already have Klaw and Titania from the Frightful 4. Who else has been a member besides the Wizard and Hydro-man?
If they make guys from all the X-teams they'll surely just be considered X-men (X-factor, Excalibre, Generation X, X-force, etc).
Ashenfang; most of your guys could be classed as Brotherhood. I doubt they'll make any nnew teams with associations that close. Actually I'm surprised that Rookie White Queen wasn't classed as Brotherhood.

have had the following as members, and maybe others as well
Wizard
Paste Pot Pete (aka Trapster)

Yeah, I know.. (though if they do make some of them, like any of the Reavers, I'd prefer them to be Unaffil.) ..like I said, didn't see any of those teams ever coming about..
For the most part, I think we got the teams now that will have till the end.. ..they might add one or two slowly..
This is just judging from MageKnight at least.. ..they've added what? Two.. Three 'new' Teams?(Armies, groups.. whatever they are called..) And it's been out a rather long time, heh.
I'm a fan of the books, but for the sake of simplicity, I hope they don't add any new teams.
Id love to see
Alpha Flight
Invaders
Marauders

I'd like to see:
Alpha Flight
Deviants
Lemurians (Attuma, Orka, Tyrak etc.)
Atlanteans (Namor!!!!!!)
Kree (He we already have the Skrull, so Kree are a must)
Olympeans (maybe with a new Hercules)
Asgardians (new Thor and the three warriors)
HellFire Club (Need a new White Queen)
Morlocks (I must have Caliban)
Inhumans (Gorgon and Black Bolt, both with Pulse Wave)
Eternals (or just Gilgamesch and Sersi as Avengers)
Serpent Society (Oh no, they already brought out Constrictor)
What i also want to see are:
Monsters of the Negative Zone (MoD?)
More Hydra/Aim (as Red Skull is one of them they could do Voice, Crossbones, Machinesmith etc.)
Heimdall

I'd like to see the Champions, Squadron Supreme, and Kree show up at some point.
I hate to burst everyone's bubbles, but Jon L mentioned in a thread that NO new teams were going to be added, as they weren't even being considered at this point. I believe some of the teams that you have all mentioned could be represented by using an existing team. It is done for individuals, as Spiral nor Taskmaster are true Minions of Doom.
Ufoes, Frightful 4, Wrecking Crew= Fantastic 4
Squadron Supreme=JLA=Avengers team ability
Alpha Flight=Defenders (since there aren't that many Defenders in the sets)
Bad Mutant teams (Acolytes, Hellfire Club, etc)= Brotherhood (Juggernaut nor Sabretooth were ever members, but are included)
Good X-teams (X-factor, X,Force, etc)= X-men (as was done with Wolfsbane, who has never been an official Xman)

Morlocks!
It' a must-have!
They won't do X-Factor and Excalibur, but they gotta make a Morlocks team!
Why? None of the Morlocks is popular enough to get a figure, much less a whole team designation. A generic would be more than adequate.

Thundra (circa F.F. no.129) and, I believe, Hydroman (though I can't think of where, offhand), have also been part of the team.

I don't know, some of the Morlocks are kinda popular..
Calaban, Leech, Berzerker(Made it into X-Men Evolution, which might make him a candidate), Masque, Leech, Calisto, Feral, Thornn..
Now.. with that said, I agree that they do't need their own team, like most of the others..heh.. that would be.. well silly. =p
I'd have to say Most Morlocks would get Unaffiliated.. ..some of them worked with the X-Men.. ..some of them worked with the Brotherhood.. *shrugs* ..split them up, to X-Men/Brotherhood as you like.. ..make them UnAffiliated.. or whatever, I think it would be neat to see some of them.. ..but that's not saying much.. I think it would be neat to see Everyone. ;)

My guess is that if they ever add anyone it will be Alpha Flight. Maybe the Kree, just as AE to the Skrulls.
I would absolutlely kill for Thunderbolts clix. There is a small hope of them one day. I'll probably have to just make my own.
Inhumans would also be very cool. Yeah...
Every other team mentioned seems very unlikely to ever be made. I guess we'll just have to make theme teams of them from the characters in existence. Champions yeah!
They have done the substitution thing with Minions of Doom, but I guess that is just because it's not a real team. I doubt that they will ever do it with other teams...especially not putting baddies like the U-foes and Frightful Four in F4 team (although they could potentially be put in MoD)
I wondered about Sabretooth being in the Brotherhood. He is in Ultimate X-men, and often in games, and the movie, etc, so it is justifiable. Bit annoying about Juggernaut though.
I don't see AlphaFlight needing their own team, they weren't that popular either.
My vote would have been Thunderbolts until they too got their book messed up. Ah well, back to MoE for them!

So Alpha Flight is not worthy enough for a team ability, but the Thunderbolts are??
I've heard way more fans praising Alpha Flight, and the greatness of that team, then I have of the Thunderbolts.
Either way, I think if they add anything, it should be the Kree.

As Heroclix is big in Canada and the United Kingdom now, the next 2 teams Whizkids should introduce are:
Excalibur: for us Brits
Alpha Flight: for the Canadians
You have the historical crossovers with the X-Men story line.
Considering the number of X-Men characters that were in Excalibur at one time or another, it would not be out of place to make the other members of the team X-Men as well. That way only one new team ability needs to be introduced.
The combination of teams and range of scenarios would be amazing.

Just out of curiousity..
Thunderbolts.. ..they have like.. 40 some issues? ..possibly in the fifties?
I understand that a lot of you may be fans of them, but how on eartch could you think these guys deserve their own team? Heh.. I'm not meaning to be offensive.. ..but the teams we currently have are Staples of the Marvel line.. ..not like 46 issues "before we cryed about it's change"..(Ok, perhaps that last part was meant to be a tad offensive.. :D )
Now, that said, I'm personally glad that JonL has stated that there have been no thoughts on adding new teams.(If indeed he did state this, going to take who ever's word on it, being too lazy to go look for the post myself. ;) ) It's a game of simplicity.
Heh.. some people are so unrealistic in their goals. :p

Oh, i am so sad there will be no other teams. I already hoped for Hellfire Club with the Anti-Superman team ability (Well, they had specially equipped commandos that captured the X-men, outwitting their super powers).

Hey, that's pretty clever. Might be time to repaint some Intergang Agents.
And as for my post above, I would have *wanted* a Thunderbolts team, I didn't say I would add it now. As aforementioned, I don't think we need any new teams.

Ashenfang:
First of all, Thunderbolts have 75 issues of solid continuity. That equates to over 7 years of issues...and 7 recent years. They have very solid ties to the Masters of Evil and the Avengers, which are prominent clix teams, with members who have (or will be) in both (and Hydra too come to think of it). Most of the characters in Thunderbolts have been around for a long time before that- Zemo, Goliath, Moonstone, Beetle and of course Hawkeye....from the very early years of Marvel.
Defenders by comparison, have always struggled to maintain a title. Sure they had some good runs during comic boom times, but over the comics slump of the last decade they couldn't maintain a title. and even now, they couldn't maintain one for long. And it is a team with some real Marvel big-guns in it too.
There is absolutely reason why T-bolts aren't as justified to be in Clix as the Defenders, or Skrulls for that matter. Of course I am a fan too.
Alpha Flight has a strong case for it too. They aren't as mainstream, having a little to do with X-men only, but they have a strong fan following (especially in Canada) and there is a whole new set of characters that could be introduced with them, and a long history to work from.
Sure JonL has stated that there isn't any plans to add teams. That certainly doesn't mean that they won't at some stage down the track. And if they don't, well they don't. But it can't hurt to dream
Starfire:
While it would be cool, I'm sure they won't add in a specific Excalibre team. They are just going to lump all of them under X-men, as they have already done with Nightcrawler, Collossus and Shadowcat. But that's cool, since Excalibre is the British team of the X-men anyway.
Hey, I'm still stoked that they put the 2 best Aussie characters in the first set- Pyro and Boomerang. Okay, so Boomerang's an idiot, but who else have we got? Gateway? Dreamguard? Talisman? Bleh.

assuming they do eventually make new teams I would expect that they will be with characters that do not already have a figure. this means you can count out many of the oldies..champions, invaders, etc etc.
what I exepct is that these new teams would be based off of actual new teams in the marvel universe...thuderbolts and new warriors for example...
as far as what team I would like to see...new warriors would be number one with all the characters from the original group: night thrasher, speedball, firestar, justice, namorita and good ole rich rider, aka Nova...
thunderbolts would be pretty cool too, if done in their original incarnation. Atlas, would be a nifty over sized fig and I like the idea of mach 1.
for bad guys..I would look to the hellfire club as a good choice but then they would have to rerelease white queen...although they could make her a unique for this team so they don't have to redue her r/e/v. another bad guy team I like the idea of is the marauders...but they were not around all that long but the team was pretty big which ensures plenty of team options. scalp hunter would be a pretty deadly fig given his ability to make multiple weapon systems (rainbow of combat based colors). in addition, riptide and vertigo would be pretty nifty even if they were basically one trick ponies...
imo
You can make your own Night Thrasher. Just paint Vet Hydra agent to look like him. I would like to see Nova, Firestar, Justice and Namorita, but they don't need their own team ability. Firestar and Justice will be Avengers on their Vet anyway, and Nova could be Spiderteam.

agreed. I could make my own new warriors team but this was not the intent of the thread. he asked what we thought about possible new teams...

see above...thread is speculation...

agreed, I too believe that firestar and justice should/would have their vet versions be representative of them being a member of the avengers. in regards to Nova? if they did not make a new warriors team and they did make an actual fig of my favorite buckethead I would expect the following.
rookie: spiderman team
experienced and veteran : no team
my reasoning being that he has had three stand alone books that span back to the late 70's. in addition, he was a member of the new warriors. while he has appeared in spiderman books it has not been all that often to include him being a member of the spiderman team, imo.
also, by not including him on the spiderman team would help keep his cost down. :)

New Mutants - include Magik, Magma and those other later characters :)
Leaving out the T'Bolts would be huge. They had 75 issues of some of the best comic writing in years.
You can almost play the Champions of L.A. now: (Herc, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, IceMan, Angel)
Inhumans - make a non-unique Medusa and these guys could rock. Maybe they could slide in some new characters from the new series.
How about a Great Lakes Avengers boxed set? :) --- maybe not...
Been reading comics for too long....

Don't forget the powerhouse of the team, Starhawk and his wife Aleta.
I would hope they add the Thunderbolts, but I'm not holding my breath. Like it was mentioned earlier, Zemo's face is shown as the Masters of Evile team logo, so if they do make Thunderbolts figures, I'm guessing they will be listed under MoE (Please God - don't make them uniques or I'll never be able to afford them!).
Other teams I would like to see include:
Alpha Flight
Hellfire Club
Serpent Society
Wrecking Crew
New Warriors
Or how about this - an all motorcycle mounted Team America...

I'd say if they ever add any new teams, which isn't likely in the next couple of sets, the likliest are probably Alpha Flight for the heroic side and Serpent Society for the villains (gotta maintain balance). Both have full enough rosters to merit doing a team around them. Maybe Inhumans. I'd like to see them, even if they don't get a team ability.

I agree with Whitepergrine...a rookie Nova would be a great taxi for the spiderman team !!! I would love to see the new warriors
get their own team but if not , at least let's see a nova with rookie spider team, vet & exp with no team affiliation.
The only other major team i can think of is the champions (although they have long since split). Also I'm surprised they have not used the marvel knights as a team logo.
I am surprised that the brood have now been added to xpolsion (with at possibility of ten different figures - that all look fairly similar the shear reduction in the cost of making these figures would surly not miss wizkids notice).
I am the only person on the planet who wants to see the power pack.

has anyone said:
freedom force, power pack, fantastci four -w/ wolvie, hulk, spidey, ghost rider-, west coast avengers, slingers, and there's another group that magneto, collosus and a guy named cortez was a part of--i think it was the acolytes.
my vote
The Midnight Sons: Give the "spooky" characters the Batman Team ability.
We could get a new blade, with like charge, or Flurry in his move slot and he can still hide.
We could get Morbius, Hannibal, Dare I say it Ghost Rider and Blaze, and Wouldn't this be funny...The Darkhold. A Unique Darkhold. It's just a book on a flying base, to represent a spiritualy sentient mystical tome. (it has enhancement..duh)
The Shiar should have the Green Lantern Team ablity (because they are an avian race who mastered anti gravity a long time ago)
The Kree should have The Mystic Team Power (Oh boy would Kree/Skrull Wars be a hoot huh?)
The Thunderbolts should have the Masters of Evil power...Duh.
I think the Inhumans with The Superman Team power would be cool.
And Finally the Marvel Knights with the Superman Enemy Team power. We get a Dardevil and Black Widow that can team up and have outwit. You throw in a Punisher, Cloak & Dagger, Moon Knight, and Master of Kung Fu, and you have all the street level hero's teaming up and outwitting. (I say All of the street level hero's because of course, the spider man team can copy this in massive NY street level battles and comics reminicent team ups)

The Shiar should have the Green Lantern Team ablity (because they are an avian race who mastered anti gravity a long time ago)
With all due respect that'd be nuts. One of the most powerful abilities in the game and you want to give it to some alien generics? Maybe if they did the Imperial Guard specifically, but it's waaay too powerful for the run of the mill Shi'ar agent.
The Kree should have The Mystic Team Power (Oh boy would Kree/Skrull Wars be a hoot huh?)
Ditto my comment above. A Kree soldier would NOT have the Mystic team ability. (Not to mention the Kree Skrull War would be a rout.) I'd love to see both of these races, but these abilities are just too powerful for a batch of generics.

I heartily agree that a Rogues Gallery team should be in order, which wouldn't be that hard to do seeing as they've only put out two Rogues (I believe) But if they're done with new teams (I could see the rogues with the Superman Enemy ability) then let's at least see Reverse Flash and at least one other in the CJ expansion.

we really dont need the new teams....just represent them with the closest equivalent:
invaders=avengers
champions=defenders
alpha flight=xmen
thunderbolts=doom allies....why? to represent the flexibility
etc........:)
I agree that the Thunderbolts are flexible, but I'm guessing that If they make them (please, please, please), that they will appear under the Masters of Evil team. Gotta stick with Zemo, you know...
