Why all the hate for this piece?
I think it's clever. It stops a few powers, but is not really much different than Ares or Kid Zoom. It shuts down certain powers, and that's great, but in a competitive game, if it's really hurting your opponent, he's gonna focus fire on this guy, he'll die and you will have bought yourself a few rounds where your opponent wasn't able to use all his powers.
for 35 pts, it's a piece that might swing a game your way.

Very cool sculpt and comic accurate trait and dial. Just don't bother using him on that new GSX Krakoa map, poor Leech won't last too long.
a piece that will frustrate your opponents and possibly frustrate you if you aren't paying attention to where you place him (or the rest of your team).
incredibly comic accurate, and entertaining piece.
what did happen to anne heche?

you guys are way too harsh. I had to give 5's to offset all your 3's....because this is definitely a 4 star piece in sculpt, accuracy, and dial. Playability is also high for good players but the piece requires finesse to use effectively

I had to give him a 1 on playability, only because he really takes a lot of skill to use correctly. I am not one of those skilled enough, as all he has done is hurt me. But in the right hands, he is a pretty powerful piece, which is why I gave his dial a 4. Just be sure you're one of "them" and not one of "me," before you decide to add Leech to your tournament force.

As of may 1rst (when the new rules hit) Leech has a new friend:
CAVE CARSON! Phasing is a move action [AGAIN](as of may 1rst) so Cave "extends" Leech's negation range to 12 squares (Cave's movemwnt 8-2[carry]6 = 6 Leech's power negation ROE)
Or you acn use Julie Power(Lightspeed) if you want Kid/Power pack Theme teams to give Leech a 15 "range"!

Leech is a weird figure. He's only effective with certain figures, and only effective against certain figures. A lot of how good he is hinges on whether or not your opponent can hit him in Stealth easily. If they have a figure that can hit through Stealth or with Hypersonic Speed or weirdly high-speed Charge it shouldn't be hard for them to give him the light tap that it takes to KO him. If they don't, though, he'll be sitting there in Stealth forever Outwitting them until they finally get sick of him and base him, at which point hopefully the rest of your team can mess them up. Just be careful to stay far enough away from him, obviously.
His trait will occasionally win you games when you're able to position well and your opponent positions poorly, but most of the time I think he's just going to be cheap Outwit that's difficult to move around, since people typically aren't just going to let him stand there and negate half of their powers. Could be incredible as a carry-buddy to a flying tentpole who doesn't rely on power actions of any kind to work, but I can't think off the top of my head of who that would be.

I don't know what the problem is people have with this piece. He looks fine, is fairly accurate, and he is devastatingly powerful. For 35 points, you can shut down so many opponents. Plan around him, stick him with a phasing carrier, and you can lock your opponent down while you wreck shop. Gorgeous!

This guy is awesome. I don't get why he's been trashed as far as I can tell anyone who has any idea how to use him thinks he's good. I'm kind of a new player I've had him for a while but I have been waiting for the 2011 rulebook and PAC to clearly define which actions are power actions. Now that its out I plan to put this guy on any team not heavily reliant on power actions. Btw double time on this guy is perfect.

Cheap stealthed outwit. The trait can hurt your own team as much, if not more than your opponents if not used carefully.
I like pairing him with Quasar and General RAAM. Both still can use their move and attacks while shutting down the characters you're attacking. RAAM can also use him as a stealth shield while using his Grenade attack.
Cool little piece that is very playable because of the points and the keywords.
