View Full Version : I am Hero-Clix

Hero-Clix is a fun game, and is my latest obsession. It started as something I could easily fit in a tupperware sandwich container. Now I own 6 tackle boxes with adjustable dividers, all secured in a shoulder bag which I could fit a week's worth of clothes in. When normal HC isn't enough, I commission custom clix. My Sentinels and Sinestro have their own luxury foam padded container, with a list of their cptured victims. A seperate, smaller tackle box holds all my tokens, glass markers, adventure kits both indoor and outdoor and other accessories. One whole tackle box holds over 500 points worth of Skrulls, Custom Skrulls, and the Super Skrull, all divided by faction. Lastly, in the same bag, is a one and a half inch 3 ring binder with rules, faqs and scenarios. My maps, both original and custom, are laminated and rolled in an oblong kinko's bag. My yearly HC spending probably exceeds the national budget of third world countries.
My name is Shin-Goji...and I am Hero-Clix...
:p lol. I'd say you need help, but I'm almost just as bad. :D

I based it off the "I am Sci-Fi" commercials :)

I admit...my friends have started asking me when I'm going to invest in a dolly to haul my collection around with. And that doesn't even include my expanding MK collection...<sigh>

I have two full size tool chests full of clix. I have multiples of every figure, the adventure sets the big-figs and a boneyard of chopped up clix that fills a shoebox. I am also custom happy and to date have made Hellboy,Apollo and Midnighter,Tom Strong, Black Bolt, Dr. Fate, Punisher, Deadpool, Alan Scott GL, Dr. Midnite, and myself as a SHIELD agent. I have a sickness...

One day, I'll have to invest in one of those rolling duffel bags with the handles.
... i just use egg cartons....

I have 9 plastic shoeboxes I keep my Clix in; 4 for Marvel (U, V, E, R), 4 for DC (same), and 1 for my rules, dice, LoF cord, tokens, and team for the day.
And I actually have a luggage dolly with a bungee cord to transport them. I am so pathetic...

Comic books are a fun hobby, and is my constant obsession. It started as something I could read and enjoy for the action. Now I own everything from Ultimate Spider-Man #4, to Spider-Man: Rock Reflections of a Super Hero, to a bottle of Kryptonite Hot Sauce from Metropolis, Ill. When reading wasn't enough, I began to draw. My desk is filled to the brim with upwards of 20 sketchpads, full of my favorite characters, and no tracings. I've got three wall entertainment units with Trade Paperbacks, action figures, Happy Meal Toys from multiple restaruants, and even an unused ballot from the Marvel vs. DC ordeal, but no TV's or Stereo's in sight. One wall unit contains my "Comic Book Tape", in which I tape everything comic book related off of the TV. I just started Tape #58. I've completed Birds of Prey, Lois and Clark, and I've got the original airings of the Clerks cartoon. I've even moved my clothes out of their drawers to make room for Superman and Spider-Man lunchboxes, JLA Stickers, and even Marvel 'Get Well Soon' cards. My room is covered with the likes of a Spider-Man throw, a signed lithograph of the Crow from J. O'Barr, and a Batman and Robin shower curtain . I eat, sleep, live, drive, and all other verbs, the likes of Marvel and DC.

Needless to say, I got that from Shin-Goji, who got it from "I Am Sci-Fi"! I hope you enjoyed it. :)

My name is Rickisadork, and i have a problem. It started as a social thing, just a couple of comic book store employees hanging out and making Mr. Hyde kill the puttpet Master over and over again. Just some harmless fun. But then, things started to change. Everything i tried to do was determined by the roll of the dice. I couldn't eat for 6 days because at every meal i rolled a 2 or 3. My dog died due to exposure because i needed an 8 or better to open the door when it was -10 degrees outside. My girlfreind outwitted my perplex and then got taxied off by a firelord for 12 squares. I have no life. All i can do is click.

When you create anti-Firelord teams in your sleep, then you're a real man.

I love the gimmick of the Hurricane...but Three Count was the best three-man tag teams, ever. I hate how the WWE screws over talented guys like Shannon Moore.

I now have a role model. Thank you Shin Goji.
Oh, wait, I can't afford that much Heroclix. Nevermind.
(Phew, last thing we needed was to put Shin in a position of power, eh?)
Anyone else realize that this thread was created in March of 2003? Thats when this thread was started....wow.....

How did it get back on the first page? When I posted to it today, it was on the first, but I was the first one to post to in over two years. Weird....

Did you still have the threads sorted by date? If you clicked on one of the headers, that would change the sort priority and that would explain why it was on the front page for you.
Nice ressurecting a 2+ year old thread for an off-topic wrasslin' comment.

I always keep the threads organized by date, so, unless I hit a button on accident, I don't see what else happened.
What's the matter with wrestling?
besides the obvious...

Sweetness. Its like digging up a time machine.....then rebuilding it....and using it to send the older one back in time.....or something.

ACK, ACK, and ACK a third time! Stay thine tongue vile miscreant!
Besides, as long as Evan Karagias, stays out of WWE, there's no chance we'll ever have a 3-Count reunion. Plus, even if they got back together, Shannon Moore has become forever marred by his current "please notice me!" gimmick of wearing his hair in huge spikes, wearing gaudy face makeup, etc.
The biggest thing that disappointed me concerning Hurricane was that he and Mr. America never teamed up. Think of it, a real WWE Team-Up! Le sigh...

Sings to know when you're addicted to Heroclix:
You ask your spouse/partner when they're hosting their next Tupperware party, because you're fresh out of plastic containers for your clix.

...that wasn't so hard.

O.K. repeat after me. HeroClix are only pieces of plastic. Um this coming from a 37 year old man who has all his plastic in cabinets sorted by points, universe, and hero or villian.
