There's this Licensing Promo Wolverine up on Ebay going for $60. From the picture it looks like its painted in all black but has the blue archenemy base. The description says it has the Veteran Wolverine's stats. I've never seen it before until today. I've seen the Hulk and Daredevil promos before and in fact their selling a lot of them right now. Does anybody know about this Wolverine promo? How rare is this thing? What does it usually go for? Thanks.

This is a normal Unique Ninja Wolverine and The Blue is normal. he should have different stats and not the Vet Wolvie stats. check him out he is the unique wolvie that was not offered as a Mail away.

Starman:
You're wrong. Maybe you were referring to Ebay listing (ended 2/25) for the Unique Wolvie that was incorrectly represented as the Promo Wolvie?
The Licensing Promo Wolvie is exactly the same as the Vet Wolverine except his costume is all black. My brother has one, so I've seen him first hand. I don't know how rare he is, but I think that would be the only reason someone would collect him. Vet Wolvie looks a lot better (IMO) even though just as unplayable. For the all-black "look" the Unique is better looking and more playable.

Actually, the description explicitly says "It's not the Unique Wolverine in a black suit holding a katana from Infinity Challenge". I'm guessing its the one quixotequest's brother has. Do you know how much he got it for?
(I actually like the black suit look better than the regular yellow veteran. :) )

we had a thread on this a few weeks ago. check this thread (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27854) out...
or to save you a mouse click or two, the thread lists the range of that promo to be anywhere from $50 to $600.
(i personally just sold a sealed one a week or two ago for $125.)

Wow, $125 for a promo? Well if it is rarer than Bruce Banner then I guess that's reasonable if your a collector. But people who just like to play will probably be happy with a Veteran Wolverine.
Please, I jump on the occasion to ask once more : where can we get these prices ? I'd like to know the worth of the Magazines LEs, for example (Wolverine, Supes...), and maybe other LEs...
Thanks

That's what I'd like to know Orpheus. But it doesn't seem like Ebay follows the rules of price guides? I've seen Inquest list some veteran figures for like $10, then on Ebay the same veteran figure goes for like $3.
Yeah, usually the mags say a truckload of BS... We have to remember that some of them sell the figs, and therefore take advantage from the rates they announce !! But what I'd like to know is if anyone has listed the average sales value on e-bay of an LE. Or even if there's a mag's prices online, if it gives basis.

Prices are "based" on what they are always based on in a capitalist society... Supply and Demand. If there are a lot of figure with little demand, then the cost is low. If there are only a few figures with great demand, then the cost is high. The only stipulation is whether or not you can connect to your buyer. This is where E-Bay comes in. You can list your figs and if a lot of people are looking for your vet shield sniper, she could go for a few dollars even though she is common (demand = high + supply = high, = buyers market, what do you WANT to pay) If you post a rare fig on E-Bay with high demand you can get whatever the market will pay. (demand = high + supply = low, = sellers market, what do I want YOU to pay) If you see in a magazine that something is "worth" a certain price, which is based on estimated supply/demand so the fluctuation of actual market price can be huge. If I am a store and I sell the only singles in the entire area, I can charge higher prices for more in demand figs. (however, I would also pay more for higher demand figs) The great thing about E-Bay for sellers is it creates a higher demand market with access to more people who want products. But the down side is the saturation of the market if you are selling common figures. So you will get NO bids if you start a bid price too high and the fig is common. Since anyone with a computer can sell their extra figs. So if you see what something is worth in a magazine, don't take that as what you would necessarily pay to get that item. You have to factor in what would someone else pay to get that item. And be very careful, E-Bay is infamous for getting people to pay more then they were willing to pay because the demand for something is so high. Having said this, I am not an econ major so if I am a little off on my basic economics I apologize. This is strictly laymen stuff.
I totally agree with about all that you said !! :-)
The only thing I needed is a value scale : I won't pay or ask what's proposed on this list (sometimes more, most of the time much less), but it's useful for me to know that Lamissimo Annihilus LE is worth more than 3 Mr Fix-It for some... It's just an example.
Orpheus, still wondering how he can make good use of V Annihilus in competitive environment.
