View Full Version : Playing with a single collection of figures.

I want to play HeroClix with a few people who do not and probably will not have their own figures. My collection is big enough (but not too many dupes) such that multiple people can play.

However, I'm not sure how we should select teams.

Here are some of my ideas so far:
- Randomly roll for team figures (get some 10 sided dice)
- Roll for picking order and just pick figures one at a time based on that order.

Are there any other idea out there? Maybe something that involves some sort of bidding system if two people want the same figure?

It should be something realtively quick too. I don't want to spend all night formulating teams.

Thanks!

We used to do that. We just rolled (flipped a coin, paper rock scissors, whatever) to see who picked first, then went around clockwise.

I figured this would be this most common approach. Any other ideas out there?

Maybe some combination of picking teams and random rolling?

I think you should allow for an initial selection of favorite characters.
As you go along, if two people want the same figure, then maybe you roll - high roll gets it.
This way, new players have more fun playing a character they like, which is the way everyone sort of starts . . .

Jensen,

A fun idea is to have each person pick a "team." One person could use all the JLA figs, one person use the Batman Team, someone else use the X-men. That way no one would be able to use same exact figure, but you could for instance, use the Scarlet Witch on two teams: Rookie version on Brotherhood team and Veteran Version on the Avengers team.

Does that make any sense?

Thanks. These are good ideas.
