A friend of mine advised me to use Epoxyclay for creating small rocks that I can use for modding. Since I'm not very good at modding, my "improvements" are quite basic. But I found it easy to do these mods, so I'm sharing these to give others (especially those like me, who aren't good at modding) some ideas.

Go here for the writeup (http://comicsgeek.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/plastic-surgery-epoxyclay/).

I'd like to see a "new rocking" Hawkeye next to Steve and Tony for a comparison shot. The write up didn't really tell me anything. I thought it was going to be a tutorial on how to make/place the rocks. Instead the write up had a "I felt like a rock here would look nice, so I put one there, have fun trying to figure out how" type of vibe to it.

I have to agree though, that Hotdog cart has to go.

Get some Loc-tite control tip super glue, it really comes out a lot cleaner when it dries. I prefer the "extra time" version, as it gives you a few chances to position things properly.

Can you give the rocks sharper edges, so they look less like stones and more like boulders?

Those ideas are not bad at all. I especially like how Gambit and Hawkeye turned out. Might have to do that with Gambit myself.

Good suggestion on the comparison shot. I'll update that :)

As for the writeup, it's really more of explaining why I ended up placing the rocks there. The "epoxyclay" material is really similar to clay, just knead it and mold it as you would clay. When I got The Thing, the hotdog cart was already out of his hands so I didn't have to do much but put a glob of epoxyclay between his hands. :)

It's not really the super glue that messed it up. I initially had a different Hawkeye figure placed (WoS Bullseye with a CT Hawkeye head) but I was unhappy with it. And then I got my hands on an extra FF Hawkeye, so I took the Bullseye/Hawkeye figure and the glue mess stayed :(

Yes, the rocks can be given sharper edges but I was too impatient. All you have to do is let the "rocks" dry out, then once they're really dry, break them up to achieve the sharp edge look.
