I have a key from the first wave.

You start with a set # of "credits" that you can spend on individual figures or boosters.

I assume more will be added down the road but the only boosters available were from HOT when we signed up.

Being new wouldn't have prevented you from getting a key ... but being a Mac does put a blocker on it. No idea if they plan on putting out a mac version (you could bootcamp, parallels, virtualbox, etc.)

I realize it is the fair way to make figures available in game to people, but as with other games, I cannot see myself and many others spending a real $10+ for 5 virtual in game characters and items. If I'm going to spend real money, I will go to the store and buy the real thing just like with other games (Magic the Gathering online is a perfect example of this). If they can find other means to distribute the figures, possibly though tournaments, campaigns, scenarios, or other in game events (maybe saving up in game currency from participating in certain events) rather than having to pay cash for them then I think more people will really enjoy it.

I figured this is what they would end up doing but I could see them dumbing it down a ton. Like basically have a points card you buy (Like xbox or PS3) and have it where it's basically $1 a pack and you can trade/buy from other players(You can give them points for a certain figure) also you could have it where after so many games you win you get certain number of points added on to your account which is used to buy packs or buy figures. That would be an ideal way personally. that way they get money for it (cause they wouldn't do it for free) and then we don't have to dish out a buttload more money for having "digital" versions of our figures.

Or they could do it where the figures come with a code now and to unlock the figures online you'de have to actually buy the figure (which I'm not sure how it would work unless they do one code per figure but then all you would have to do is post them online and everyone would have a full set if their one code per figure)

It showed up that way for me before I got my invite via PM (last night). I don't think it really has any tie to HCO, just a convenient way to show everyone what your name is on there.

To the best of my knowledge, you're going to buy points just like anything else. You'll then use the points to buy figs/boosters/bricks/etc. It's just a matter of what the price tag is going to be.

Boot camp is a download you can get for your mac or pc to play on the PC or mac. So lets say you have a mac, you download this, then BAM you can know play the heroclix beta on the Boot camp.

When I first heard about heroclix online from a friend I thought it would be a great tool for newer players to learn the rules and proper use of the special abilities...as many of them are a little confusing at first!

Just MAKE SURE to use the lowest settings of the game to start. I tried it out over weekend and some of the higher visual settings made the map and visuals and lag time really horrible, but when i switched to lower settings (which still looked great) it worked fine for 2nd game. 2nd game I was still just figuring out how to do everything, but I only hit couple walls with figuring out how to do stuff that second game and started to have fun. visuals are really nice.

I am brand new to the forums and just recently started playing heroclix...but would love to join the beta and test it out from the "new to the game" perspective!

When I first heard about heroclix online from a friend I thought it would be a great tool for newer players to learn the rules and proper use of the special abilities...as many of them are a little confusing at first!

"New to the game" perspective isn't really good for beta testing, since quite a lot of the bugs in the system are about rules interactions. If you don't know the rules, you can't notice the bugs. I really wouldn't want anyone to start learning the rules with the beta testing, because then they're going to have to unlearn quite a lot when they start playing the real life version.

New here, but I am the most series player in my area, as I am the only one that Witch I have to drive an hour one way for any turnys. and I yousely come in first or second it has been a while sense I got therd. But this would be a grat opertunity to teach my younger kids to play with out haveing to repair the clixs afterwards. Thanks for reading this and consedring us for a key.

If there are keys left, I'd love to have one. I'm not sure if you need to post a reason (or even post in addition to editing the User Details) to get one, but other people are, so:

-I'm new to the game, but understand all the rules and am up-to-date on all of the major tournament teams.

-I'm a semi-pro Magic: the Gathering player (I qualified for PT: Paris, but couldn't attend) so I'm not new to the strategy game environment.

Thank you for consideration (assuming that making a post requesting a key is required). Regardless though, thank you for giving me a starting point for a new hobby.

Been playing for years but haven't been able to play much lately due to the wife working, etc... This would be very beneficial for me and I would love to test it out. I was involved in the MTG Online Beta many moons ago and still play it from time to time since that's another game I don't get out to play very often. Would love to be part of bringing HCO into reality so I can benefit from the times I can't get out into the real world to play a game with friends.

Well considering my job is a beta tester already and current click player it would be great if I could get a key and not someone who hasn't been on here since. 2004. Not saying he shouldn't be picked just saying they might not even play HC anymore.

The only justifiable reason I can think of for myself to not get a beta key , and am seriously hoping this is the case, is that they don't have the server support they will have for launch... whenever that may be.
