I have a problem and was wondering if it was just me or if anyone else had experienced it. On the old G.I. Joe cartoons, at the end, they would have those "knowing is half the battle" propaganda speeches...now here's where the problem lies...WHAT IN GODS GREEN EARTH WERE G.I.JOES DOING ROAMING SUBURBIA LOOKING FOR LITTLE CHILDREN?!?!?!? Maybe it's just me, but if Doc or Barbecue showed up at my house telling me what to do, i'd be a little weary of their real intentions.... and they all would like stand really close to the boys too....
-R:rolleyes:
lol
Seriously, I read somewhere (maybe ToyFare?) that the reason all those 80s cartoons had the "Today On *Insert Title Here*" sketches were so they would be able to justify to parents and censors that they weren't just half hour long toy commericals... Which of course they were anyway. I don't know how it ever worked... but it did.

lol, yeah, Hawk "just happened" to be walking by (into Billy's backyard at that) to tell him how to properly stop a bleeding nose.....stupid question, did anyone from Cobra ever do one of those end segments?
I think your making too much of a kids cartoon
I think that everybody should be taking this very seriously. Those were great. If you buy the G.I. Joe movie on DVD, it comes with about 15 of those. They just bring me back to those good old days... Like when Uncle Chuck use to come over... and we would swim... and roll in the grass....
uh.... Oh no... bad memories,.. bad!!
Now I gotta go see the psychiatrist and repress these again.

Sure, there was the "Knowing is half the battle" segment where Destro showed Timmy and Billy the correct way to set the detinator on homemade plastique explosives without having it blow up on your face. And the time the Baroness gave pointers on how to lie with a straight face. My favorite is Cobra Commander's inspiring speach on why we should never trust our parents, and be loyal only to Hasbro.

And what about the one where the Dreadnaughts gave tips on how to sound MORE fake with accents?
"And knawing is have the ba-el..."

now i may be smoking crack again (gotta stop doing that) but didn't the superfriends do things like that? or something along those lines? i seem to remember Aquaman in a castle or something with kids, a wet newspaper, and a ruler...it's been a decade or so, i may be off a little...
that kinda sounded bad huh???
I know the Ambiguously Gay Duo did it.

The one of the few Superfriends episodes that I haven't blocked from my memory (probably because I just saw it 2 weeks ago) is one where Superman is turned into the tinman, Aquaman is turned into the scarecrow and Wonder Woman is the lion, and Mr. Myxlpyxlk forces them to re-enact the Wizard of Oz... minus Dorothy... in an attempt to trick them into making him invincible...or something. It made absolutely no sense and was tripped out. Those writters must have been on some serious crack. It was just more rediculous then usual.
