View Full Version : E-Bay Warning
I saw a guy selling a Unique only to retailers Hulk that I am worried about.
It looks just like the bag of Hulks that the store I go to just showed me yesterday and all they are is Yellow Hulks from IC.
So be wary on paying too much for these as they should be giving them out at free comic day at your local comic shop.
It is a bag of 100 yellow Hulks that they paid 5.00 for to give away on free comic day.
So I am a little scwptical of these auctions for a Unique abilities compared to the others on these Hulks.
have no proof and am not saying anyone is doing anything wrong I am just putting the warning out there with some information not everyone might have.
The bag of Hulks were bagged like the promos with a card at the back like the promos but are NOT promos they are just yellow hulks bagged like that as a free give away.

So nothing is different about this big bag of hulks at all?
Gaiden does have some very good information there.
The Bag O'Hulks were a bag of 100 individually sealed IC R-Hulks.
Venues had to pay about $25, I believe. The intention for this product was for handouts during promotions.
There is nothing different about these Hulks and the ones that you get from the IC set.

Since I work @ the Local Shop, Cosmic Comics in Harrisburg, Pa.
I can verify that they are the Hulk Rookies from infinity Challenge, just packaged seperately. They do not even say promo, they are number 103!!!! I got one, but their is nothing special about it.

How are they sealed? Taped shut or hot-sealed.

They're sealed just like the Spider-Man or Batman promo, or like the mail-away le's, heat sealed plastic baggies I guess is the way to say it.
I would point out that it is technically a variant due to the packaging, but only we hardcore collectors need worry about that I suppose.

my guess is hot-sealed -- like the replacement figures wizkids sends you.
why are they doing this promo for the rookie hulk anyway? for the movie?
well, there will be no shortage of rookie hulks after this shenanigans on ebay, that's for sure.

by the way, this probably does not bode well for the sellers of the real authentic hulk promo given away in the 2002 licensing show. of course, the authentic hulk promo is a veteran (i believe -- just like the daredevil and black-suit wolvie promos, but correct me if i'm wrong), but if someone reports this fraud to eBay and buyers become wary of it, the seller probably would not be able to get as much money for the real thing.
and yes, the "promos given to retailers" should have exactly their booster pack counterpart's stats on them. the only different one (this is also from my knowledge, so correct me if i'm wrong) is the wolverine promo, which has the veteran wolverine's stats, but is in a black costume instead of his traditional yellow and blue.
Of any "Promo" figure because I was at Wizard Wolrd last year and they have every figure they have made in the "baggies" that the promos came in. Makes for easier dispersal. and The Hulk ones are for Free Comic day in May right around the time of the X-man 2 movie I believe...
Is there anyone that is reputable that has seen give aways from the Conventions this year that are truly different from what we have already seen??
And if so are you sure you won't see tons of them at the upcoming conventions (especially Wizard Worlds where they put both the Batman and Spiderman promos in your registration bags)

but when is free comic book day? I could always use another cool HULK, even if its just the rookie.

Well, that explains why...when I picked up the cases today, my local comic dealer tossed in a yellow hulk.
Also noticed that the actual promo figures did not have the AE ring<<spiderman, batman...etc>> So that's one way to tell. :)

He's right about the Hulks being Infinity Challenge rookie Hulks. I purchased a Clobberin Time booster at a local comic store with my two nephews and they gave all three of us rookie Hulks.

I will say this...I'm keeping mine sealed. Maybe in twenty years, he'll be worth something<<says the everlasting optimist>>
There are several auctions with the following description on the Hulk figure...
This HULK comes with it's own Unique strengths and abilities that are not found on other versions of HULK Heroclixs figures.
Which is total BS. It's a ROOKIE HULK!
One of the auctions was at $35 when I saw it last night.
Maybe the guy selling them doesn't know any better.
There are several of these going for $10 and up.
I think the people buying these will be ticked off when they go to the comic shop next week and the owner gives them one for free.

Well, you could argue that that's strictly accurate - if by other versions you mean E, V, Fixit, and the new U.....

I sent in about 15 figures that were broken or had wrong dials. The figures they sent back were all bagged, most of what I sent in was non-flyers. One happend to be a red hulk (that had a yellow dial) so I got a bagged red hulk. .... does this make it a 'variant'? People are too jumpy to call things variants I think and looking for any reason to increase thier net value through little plastic men.
