View Full Version : Question on firing from Elevated Terrain

This one has troubled me for some time... if I have a guy standing at the edge of a building (not in the corner, mind you), can I see down below beyond the diagonal lines from my character? I ask because the rule for elevated terrain says something to the effect of "you may fire down below if the only blocking terrain in the way is in the square your character occupies" meaning "the edge of the roof IN THE SQUARE OF YOUR GUY". Since roofs are long, there is plenty more "blocking terrain" (the rest of the edge of the roof) that would obstruct you from shooting at any angle beyond a diagonal...

is this interpretation correct?

If your character is on the edge of a building (not a corner) he cannot target anyone beyond a 90 degree angle (going out at 45 degrees on both sides. Any LOF beyond that 90 will then cross into the elevated square next to him, thus effectively blocking his view.

I think this is what you are asking...

Figure A is on the Edge of the roof....

the dashes represent which squares he has Line of Fire to...

This your question?
