Yeah, Figures with Charge would get the +1 Damage no matter how many squares the moved...I figured them addept at putting their weight into charging attacks. The figures with Charge and Running shot had to be compensated somehow to make up for the fact that everyone else was getting the ability for free and they had to pay for theirs (in their point cost). So those figures get a slightly beefed up version of the abilities.

I'll tally the votes at 4....better make that 3 o'clock, things are looking slow and I might sneak out of work early to avoid Seattle traffic. Hopefully we'll have the Kirsarge situation resolved by then too... I've e-mailed him and are waiting to hear back on a proposal to help out with the Bank Guards and Cops.

Brazil, I responded. I'm down with your idea.

I wouldn't mind adding another two players to make room for one more.

Okay, Kirsarge has agreed to help me with the Bank Guards and Cops. So we'll keep things at 4 teams of 2 and Kirsarge and myself running the generic figures.

Hey, earlier I just had a feeling we were leaving Kirsarge out of the game. Since I'm going to be gone 2-3 days next week, I'll glady give Kirsarge my spot if nothing else can be worked out.

I am a little worried that the Hulk movie may not be that good. Call it a hunch, I guess. I saw the X-2 movie Saturday, and it was defenitly better than the first one. But they need to lose Halle Berry as Storm for the love of god.

or get her better lines.....x2 was very good.nightcrawler....all i can say is WOW. and i think the hulk will be as i expect. action action action and no plot. but sometimes thats all i need for enjoyment.

If you're only gone 2-3 days that's no big deal the most you'd miss is 2 turns. You can arrange to have your teammate move your figures for you when you're gone. Kirsarge sounds like he's fine with running the cops. If the Cops all get KOed and one of the original players has to bail or has connection problems like last game then maybe you can talk him into taking over for someone in that regard. I think we'll be alright with the teams as they stand to start.

Brazil
05/09/2003, 19:47
Okay the final vote was 4 in favor of trying them, 2 opposed, and 2 obstaining. So we will be going with rules 1-5 of post 966 I think it is. Thanks for doing this, I appreciate it.

Pick your teams with those rules in mind....Fliers aren't going to be as nessesary as they were previously. Monday will be set up day, post your teams soon as I start the thread and post the map...should be 9ish Monday PST. Tuesday Team Evil Starts things off with the first move. BOTH Evil Teams will move on Tuesday, Both Good teams will move on Wendesday, and back and forth....you guys know the drill.

Have a great weekend, see you all Monday at the 9th National Bank.

Sorry I didn't check the thread yesterday. After looking over rules 1-5 I think they will be great. Glad we are going with them. What time zone are you running guys on? Being halfway around the world I will have to watch the time I post. Midnight to you will be about 2 in the afternoon to me depending on which time zone you are running in.

If Kirsage needs a spot I'm going to relinquish mine. My father-in-law was just diagnosed with prostate cancer yesterday and I may not be able to devote enough time to the game. So if Kirsage doesn't mind playing a bad guy or if one of the good guys wants to switch that would work. I'll just watch from the sidelines this time.

Clixhunter, sorry I hadn't answered your PM but that's why. We've been kind of busy and I hadn't had time.

Good luck everyone.

05/10/2003, 14:53
sorry to hear that lightning lad. you have my best wishes.

so kirsarge you up to helping me bust into a vault instead of portraying our finest, the men in blue.

Whoa whoa whoa...what the heck has been happening. I'm gone for a day and suddenly this post lights up? So the teams are set? I'm strongly against house rules....not on their own merit (perhaps your rules do work better Brazil) I just don't want anymore confusion...and if we have an extra couple teams things will be confusing enough.

I feel lost....is the map done? What are the teams? Who's on first? I need some answers guys....

clixhunter
05/10/2003, 16:41
hey i understand your confusion.....
heres the answers:

the few house rules wont make or break anything.

1) taxiing puts an action on the taxier and the taxiee (i guess ya need to hang on when flying)

2) all can move and attack at 1/2 move

3) running shot can move fully and do normal running shot or move 1/2 and apply rce if they have it

4) charge can move fully and attack at +1 damage

5) if you have one of the few bricks with superstrength and battle fury you can throw things at people while enraged....

all this does is make it a little faster game and reduce the dependancy on taxis.

now onto teams:

team 1 evil) (assaulting the vault) me...clixhunter
and????? since lightning lad has a family emergency.....kirsarge gets 1st choice

team 2 evil( (assaulting the armored car) alc marauder
and you...liquid havok unless you wanna swap with someone or jump on the anti vault band wagon instead.

team 1 good) (sewer patrol) discombobulous
and jacinb

team 2 good) (protecting the armored car) first federal
and supermember

brazil is running some thugs and hold up men
kirsarge was gonna control some cops and guards. now though he may want to jump on a team.

map will be finished mon am. the thread will be called 9th nat. bank. and we post teams as usual when brazil posts thread and map. team evil moves tues.

all clear now?

So,

Does that mean we need to bring a medic or shield guys?

if you want them on your team sure.

What good is a person with flight then other than having an easier time to get off his RCE. The person that the flier carries shouldn't get an action token instead he should only not be allowed to go that turn. Putting an action token on him is steep, and puts almost no strategical reason to carry anyone.

clixhunter
05/10/2003, 19:25
well first i wish brazil was here to defend his own house rules he wantes to experiment with. so dont shoot the messenger ok supermember.

i just happen to have talked to brazil last and happened to be online when liquid havok asked what was going on.

the action token thing maybe my interpetation of what he said. if you go back a few pages you can read them for yourself and see if you interpret them the same way. i intend to get clarification from brazil before play.

now the benefits of flier would still be 1) easier access to elevations. 2) no penalty for crossing hindering terrain. 3)being able to pull someone out of combat 4)ranged base to base combat. 5)giving a slow mover faster movement.
and im sure working at it i can come up with a few more.
these just leaped to my mind.

Yeah your right, I'm so use to taxies that it clouded my judgement.

clixhunter
05/10/2003, 20:42
i dont see his house rules changing things s great deal...just subtle changes. everyone will be more apt to create a team that is not dependant on bringing "death from above" if i may borrow a military units slogan.

Liquid Havok
05/11/2003, 02:48
All right....lastly are we sticking with 300 points? Well the house rules won't be that bad.....I'm still worried about it, but hopefully it'll be cool. Looking forward to the map......

Kirsarge

Lightning Lad - I'm very sorry about your father. I know a little about that, and I wish you luck. As for your spot, I'm going to have to pass. I'm pretty psyched about playing the cops in this thing.

As for medics and generics, I think you can play SHIELD, Hydra, AIM, and Intergang guys, but Cops, SWAT, and Metropolis Special Forces are out of bounds. And if it were up to me, medics would be banned as well.

firstfederal
05/11/2003, 11:43
If a character may move and perform an action (attack), under the house rules, can a medic move and use SUPPORT?

Bill

clixhunter
05/11/2003, 13:21
ok the evil forces charging the vault need help. anyone out in heroclix world care to assist. ok kirsarge the local law enforcement must die bwah hah hah. (wink)

good question firstfederal.

liquid havok-yep 300 pts is the last i heard.

once again....any takers for an evil ally in the sewers.

clixhunter
05/11/2003, 13:22
oh and kirsarge- is brazil fielding a team of hoods thugs lackeys criminals and such?

Liquid Havok
05/11/2003, 16:14
I too wish medics were banned or at least limited. Heroes and villains never run back to get healed......There should be a band of thugs and hoods to counteract the flatfoots.

ALC Marauder
05/11/2003, 20:47
OK I will go with the no medic rule. (Hm now how to spend those 11 pts. ?)

The question still stands though because what about Barrier? Mind Control? Telekinesis? Can they be used after moving? Or would you have to have running shot/charge to do both? Could we have some clarification on these?

My personal thought is that MC and Tel. could be used (give character attack actions). But barrier is a move action and would not be compatable. Much as I would love to move and barrier in the same action.

Super_Member
05/11/2003, 21:42
Lol, I don't know what to do with my 10 left over points ALC Marauder if we use the no medic rule. I made my team yesterday, and I think I used all vets.

ALC Marauder
05/12/2003, 00:14
I think I lucked out. If the Vet version of a character I want to take is considered fair game for team evil (He changes back and forth from good to evil) then I will be OK. Otherwise its Thug, Lackey, Crininal or Henchmen:disappoin .

If you can bear to downgrade a character to Exp. then you might be able to afford a cheapie character like a Robin, A.I.M.Agent, Hand Ninja, Electra or Huntress.

firstfederal
05/12/2003, 00:30
With as much as these characters are going to be moving and attacking, why would you not bring a medic?

Do you just plan on not getting hit?

If so, how?

Bill

There's been some discussion here about what the house rules are going to do to affect the game. And a lot of that discussion has been flat-out wrong based on the rules that we voted on and accepted.

For example, you do not get a move action for the person being taxied by a flier. The taxied person simply cannot do anything the turn that they are dropped (read Rule #5). It does not cost you two move actions to carry someone.

Second, if you don't want to use a medic, don't. But it's not a rule that no one can use a medic, so don't expect everyone to be playing by the limitations that you set for yourself. Playing with more than one medic on your team, however, is pushing it. One medic on your team is perfectly legitimate, six medics is bordering on cheese.

There are no rules against it, however, so people are still allowed to use them.

Here are the house rules, and the only house rules, that we'll be playing by:

1) All figures may be played as if they have both Running Shot and Charge, using the current rules and restrictions for both superpowers.

2) Figures with Running Shot on their dials, may either move their full movement and take a ranged combat action. OR they may move half their movement and fire without any restrictions on their shot as if they hadn't moved. IE, they may use RCE to modifiy their shot if they haven't moved more than half their movement.

3) Figures with Charge on their dials may move their full movement when taking a charge action and recieve an additional +1 damage when taking a charge action (not cumulative with the object bonus).

4) Figures with Battle Fury may take Ranged Combat actions.

5) A figure who is carried by a flying figure or moved with Telekinesis may not take an action the turn they are moved. (before or after)

Howdy...The map is done. The map looks good...I think you are going to like it. The bad news is I'm having a little trouble getting it posted to my friend's server. Hopefully I'll get that cleared and going within the hour. So get ready to post your teams.

And Yes, everything JacinB said is correct. I'll repost the house rules at the beginning the scenerio.

There will be a few other house rules tossed in that are needed for the scenerio...I'm working on those now, and will have hope to have everything going very soon.

Yes, the teams are 300 points .... all good, or all evil, and no mixing of universes on each of your individual teams. Wildcard and other superpowers that affect "your team" only affect your individual 30 point team...so you won't be getting wildcard effects from teammates figures. And like before things that last till the end of "your turn" only last till you are done with your actions...so your teammates will not get the benefit of perplex for example. You can heal teammates no problems there. If you plan on breaking into the Vault, you will need a figure who can do 5 clicks of damage in 1 attack.
(the Vault will be closed, so you and your teammate should take this into account...esepecially applicable to Evil team 1.

I'll post more when I'm able to post the map...hopefully very soon.

Good Luck everyone.

Okay...if you haven't seen it yet...I've got the new scenerio thread started. Go to the "Bank Seige" thread in the play by Post section. Also if you did not participate in the Muir Island campaign e-mail me at mboyle@microsoft.com I need your e-mail addresses.

Or if you did play and changed e-mails do the same.

The map is not posted yet as I'm haveing FTP issues with the server where I post the maps. It's being wirked on and should be corrected shortly.

If you e-mail me I could e-mail you the maps, but don't post starting spots till I get the link up and working.

Lightning Lad...Kirsarge seems happy running the cops. If you don't think you will have time. Please do speak up and we'll find a replacement. If you want to give it a whirl that's fine too, if it turns out you are going to have to quit we can always find a replacement later.
You make the call, and sorry about the Father-in-law. Best of luck to him.

Brazil, sorry if I was vague but I am out this time around. I just can't spare the time and I'd rather not be responsible for holding the game up at all. Maybe if someone drops out later on I can step back in or I can just join up the next game, should there be one.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes for my father-in-law. They are all appreciated.
