I like the idea of Reputation on this site, but I feel like it doesn't get used as much as it should. When a trade goes through I think there should be so much rep or people should have an option to rep up people in the iTrader as part of the feedback, otherwise rep doesn't occur much on the site (at least not in my experience) not without a good post or something.

What do you think?

I think the iTrader system works just fine as is. No need to adjust it.

I haven't been here too long and though I didn't understand it at first, I was accruing rep every so often. I think keeping an iTrader rating is enough for trading, I think Rep is a different idea entirely, its just a way to "upvote" something people find funny/useful/intelligent or something else. I know I personally give out rep quite a bit.

I think this whole rep issue has been talked to death in the past, but your newer here and did not see those threads of yore. Rep is a toy, with no useful purpose, only for fun.

edit: And as Spike just reminded me..to send secret messages.

I give it out intermittently.
In all honesty, I intend to give it out more often than I actually do, but I typically browse on my phone, which is usually a pain in the butt... I hate not having a tactile keyboard on my phone.
I have been giving out Rep on top of the iTrader rating when a trade is completed too. I figure it's decent to do because a) it shows appreciation much like the iTrader rating, and b) it is advised on the Trading FAQs to go not just off of an iTrader rating, but also the amount of posts a user has made, donor status, rep, and general activity.
Being new to trading myself, I made some trades with people with lower trade ratings, but based off their donor status, activity, and rep, I traded with some pretty awesome people :)

I still remember the old days of negative rep! If I remember correctly there was a donor level that made you immune to it.

Negative rep was a massive headache. It's why we did away with it completely. I know some members are able to turn off rep completely.

How about having a rep-athon! Just start repping anyone and everything you can and make it more irrelevant!

We've been doing that for months now.

No amount of donation made you immune to the whining that followed neg rep. I hit two people with it and you would have thought I relieved myself on them. But I give credit where credit is due, they did complain enough to get negative rep taken away.

I wouldn't mind it coming back if it was a set number (like ten) rather than based on your rep score (as that's what caused the problem in the past). Heck, even if it didn't effect one's score and only left a message in someone's rep.

A "Neutral" rep. A brilliant idea from a brilliant man!

I think the admins should just kill rep. There is a group of us that has done our best to make it an even more pointless system, but there are some people who still think rep means something.

The reason I like rep is because (like someone else said) it gives me a heads up to newer people (like myself) for trades (I also check donor status) but I can see how the rep is broken

Wade? Brilliant? We ARE talking about the same Wade Wilson, right? The one who looks like the lead guitarist for Soundgarden? :noid:

You'll be in trouble if you judge trades by rep and donor status..

You should be checking by i-trader..

Rep is nothing.. It's some meaningless "that a boy" for posts and such.
iTrader does everything you want and removes "witty posts" from being considered..

You should never be basing trades off of rep... It does nothing.

Some people like using rep to see what they said someone agreed with or found funny.. as opposed to caring about the number above their name. Hence why it's still in tact.. yet means nothing.

The best part of Rep is the messages that show up in your CP along with it. Other than that, it's just a meaningless number. And I'll Slap you silly if you say otherwise.

Sure it means something. It means that the person who gives you the most rep wants to breed with you and create a superior race of beings on their homeworld, where ever that may be.

Now, as for Neg-Rep, I'll just backspace on what I just typed and only mention it had something to do with clubbing baby seals and I don't mean taking them to bars.

Rep makes me sad as most of my best posts, the ones I should get repped for, don't get noticed. Then, I'll make some stupid post about nothing and have 4 people rep it.

Maybe I just don't understand people.

Buy it dinner and a movie. Maybe put your hand on it's knee and give a gentle squeeze. Also, giggle at it's jokes and try to work in how big and strong it is. Then open your raincoat to reveal yourself in some skimpy lingerie.
And it shall raise itself up.
If that doesn't work, it's time to slip a certain blue pill into it's wine when it's not looking.

But having more rep make your account look cooler and meaningful though. LOL BUT more rep does not make you a heroclix player.

JTR, if this is how you handle babies you may want to avoid telling people. Folks might not take it so well.
