Greetings all,

Have a game coming up and im looking for input on a team i considering.

The Game is 500PT, no Range, (all rage is turned off). No Hypersonic.
(we have some odd and fun games at my venue)

gx051 Hulk
gx046 Juggernaut
gx040 Sabre-tooth

leaves me 15 pt shy of the cap, could throw something small in, but im not sure how it will fare.
They are all very capable hitters, that is for sure.

Any suggestions to strat or team build would be appreciated.

Don't know much about Traits and the ,like, anyone got good suggestions for that. 15pt trait might be better than a tie up fig.

This team looks awesome. I may suggest swapping out Sabertooth for a low point flier/carrier i.e. lightspeed and see what that leaves for points for your third attacker.

I like the idea, ill have to search the collection. Would certainly help Juggernaut get into the fray a lot sooner.

it seems like a leech would be your best friend in this game, just avoid the chargers

I think this will be definitely important. I love bruisers, but they can get tied up really easily (except for Juggs ) so a taxi and TK would be a good investment. My suggestion for a taxi would be X-Ray. In a melee-only format, he'd be beast.

Some cheap Outwit would be good, too.

We had a similar tournament once, but many other things were banned... like TK, that would be devastating in this scenario.
Maybe you'd like to put a few giants in, as they can make close combat attacks from 2 squares away...

However, from my experience on our tournament what would really kill your opponents would be a WP that can deal damage from distance like DC75 Ares "Fight" power or Nightshade's smoke cloud (even starting with a range of 0, she can put markers up to 4 squares away).

I could toss in Psylock and Lockjaw.

The Judge is still considering range powers that are not range attacks. Thus far they are allowed. IE, i was thinking of throwing a Tabitha Smith in for Tick Tick Tick boom.

Another example is Hulks close combat here's your friend back.

At this time I'm thinking:
GX023 Psylocke
GX051 Hulk
GX046 Juggernaut
FF002 Lockjaw
495

Or changing out GX023 Psylocke for GX015 Tabitha Smith, and tossing in a trait or whatnot.

150 Namor
76 Blob
74 Psylocke
118 Ulik
11 R con artist
11 R con artist
11 R con artist
27 R black panther
20 R destiny
498

Blob ties up their bigger threats, the pit crew (eww, I know) does what it does, and Psylocke bombs Namor and Ulik in to destroy.

Both teams are great, thought I wouldn't use Ulik - he is still quite fragile against exploit weakness and incapacitate. Fought him in my tournament and wasn't very great. Blob is almost the same, thought his bane is outwit and not EW.
The Juggernaut and Hulk team lacks some more support, specially outwit. I personally would take out Hulk and put Namor or Hercules; even though his power that allows him to attack at range is great for this tournament, it takes two attack rolls to hit any targets.

SI Iron Fist is great if you have some TK: Flurry, EW, great AV and damage, willpower and supersenses, and wildcard to plus. Only drawback is the lack of move and attack, but TK just solves that.

If you can use any powers/attacks at range, this could be decisive... Colossus/Wolverine, Psylocke and Hulk all can use replacement range values for their powers. However, I'm not sure if Tabitha would work, as she uses her own range to put the timebombs. Even if it worked, she has some middle clicks without this power, so it would be a risky option.

My sugestion:
150 - SI045 Namor
74 - GX023 Psylocke
70 - SI004 Iron Fist
20 - XP022 Destiny
50 - AA026 Nightshade
72 - SI052 Impossible Man
51 - GX025 Elixir
11 - UI007 Con Artist
Total: 498

Nightshade can cause damage "at range" and has Mystics for Iron Fist to copy; Elixir can heal characters even if they are based (just target the Con Artist and heal everyone adjacent to him); Impossible Man has Poison+Plasticity, even more lethal when you can't kill him at range, plus outwit+PC and Super Sense+Shape Change for double annoyance; and the rest is pretty straightforward.

use cheap tk with that hulk and juggs and own everyone. tooth is a good call. maybe bane would be good too no one too shot at those big targets make the most of them.
